Does it All

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

This mixer is most definitely "heavy-duty". It weighs a ton! It is part of what makes so useful. It can handle the toughest doughs. I make pizza dough and whole wheat bread in mine all the time. These are doughs that are impossible for me to mix by hand, and burn out my smaller mixers.

I must admit that I did not buy mine. I inherited it from my late father. I'm not sure I would have ever paid the money for it on my own. Even owning it now, I'm not sure I would find it worth the expense.... It's one of those "handy to have, but is it necessary?"  kind of things....

I have two complaints about this mixer. As I said before, it is HEAVY. It's not an appliance that you can store away and ...

The standard mixer

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

The Kitchenaid Classic Series 4.5 Qt. Stand Mixer, Model K45SSWH, is your standard, base model mixer. Included with the mixer (besides the bowl) is a dough hook, flat beater, and wire whip. The bowl is smooth without a handle. I went ahead and acquired the extra bowl with the handle. It's more convenient to use, plus it helps to have two bowls when a recipe batter calls for whipped cream or whites.

It's a reliable machine, however, after 5+ years of moderate-to-heavy use, it shows it's age. It doesn't seem as powerful enough and has started leaking oil from the tilt head mechanism.

It's reasonably priced at $230+ and will last several years. Since I'm approaching the time to replace the ma...

KitchenAid Classic is Part of the Family!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

In our house the KitchenAid mixer is a MUST have! My mom had a similar KitchenAid mixer from when she got married and it is still kicking. It is much slower than it used to be with less spunk, but it has been over thirty years since it was new. Now she has this KitchenAid mixer from the Classic Series and she loves it just as much. This mixer does it all around our house from cookies to wedding cakes. Between my mother and I we put this wonderful piece of machinery to use at least once a week if not more. I love the easy to use design of this mixer and its sturdy build. Even though I like that it is sturdy I find that it can get very heavy at times when transferring it from counter ...

KitchenAid Classic mixer is a must have!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I received this mixer as a wedding gift and I have used it many times! I have made everything from bread to cupcakes with it.

The mixer comes with a stainless steel mixing bowl and three different mixing attachments; a whire wisk, a "C" dough hook for mixing yeast dough for breads, and a beater that is good to use for cakes. Mine also came with a cookbook to give you many ideas of what to make! There are several different accessories that you can buy for it, including a splatter guard for the bowl, a food grinder, a sausge stuffer, a citrus juicer, and a pasta maker/cutter, just to name a few. I have not bought any of the accessories but would love to!

There are several speeds to choose...

Can't do without my KitchenAid Mixer!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I had wanted a KitchenAid mixer when my kids were young. I found one at a dept store. My boyfriend and I decided to wait until after Christmas to buy a gift for each other when things would be cheaper and marked down. The store only had 2 white ones in stock and he put one on layaway for me. I have used this mixer so much you would think it would be junk by now... had it for 15 years now. This mixer is terrific and I recommend it to anyone. It has many attachments that you can get for it including a sausage stuffer, shield to prevent flour from flying out of bowl, flat beater, wire whisk beater, cover for this stand mixer with pockets on sides for small KitchenAid cookbooks or other...

A mixer that is a must in my family. KitchenAid Stand Mixer

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

My mom still has her KitchenAid mixer from when she was first married and I come from a family of bakers so this machine did get a work out.

When I got marred my husband (ex now) thought he would just get me a hand mixer for Christmas and made the mistake of telling my parents that. OH that so did not fly. My parents bought me my very own KitchenAid mixer for my very own and it's still going strong.

I love to bake and I use my mixer for cookies, breads, frosting's and even mash potatoes. Oh yeah, if you want a fluffy, no lump mashed potatoes this is the machine to have.  As mom puts it...add potatoes, milk and butter and beat the H. E. double tooth picks out of (she didn't...

This baby is heavy duty!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I love my Kitchen Aid Mixer!  Yes it is heavy duty and well just heavy but boy does it get the job done!  I have a bright red one with the stainless steel bowl.  It is so practical and good looking, this baby should last me for years.

I'm not a hard core baker but I do like to cook and this makes the process of holiday baking a lot of fun.  Just don't stick your fingers, spatula or for that matter anything but the food while it is running.  The high bowl does make its hard to add ingredients but also safer for your fingers.  You don't even have to worry about scraping the sides of the bowl while mixing this baby does it for you.  It can even han...

I love my KitchenAid Classic Stand Mixer!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I love my KitchenAid Classic Stand Mixer!  I'm a big fan of the white color as well.  One of the great things about KitchenAid Stand Mixers is that they are built to last!  My brother has one that he recieved from his in laws and it's still going strong!  They are a bit pricey but when you think about how the KitchenAid Stand Mixer will last and last, it makes a difference.  I personally don't want to spend a lot of money on something that will break in a year or two.  I also like how big the bowl is.  I don't have a problem making bread, cakes, etc.  I love stand mixers!  You can just turn it on and then you add the ingredients without having to ...

KitchenAid 'beats' the rest easily

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

My baking and cooking joys have only just begun!! I thought I liked to bake, cook, and make candy but I like it so much more now that I have a KitchenAid classic Stand Mixer. I have the white mixer, but color matters not because the real story here is the excellent performance achieved with the KitchenAid Mixer.

For years, I have used cheaper models of "stand mixers" and "hand held" mixers. None of them could hold up to my extreme use.

Have you ever made "Divinity" candy using a hand held mixer. I would not suggest it. I have burned up at least a dozen hand mixers trying to make candy. They just don't have the endurance that the KitchenAid Stand mixer has. Also, being a stand mixer, m...

I had always heard of the KitchenAid mixer as a worthwhile investment and knew that when I got married I had to have it on my registry. I was elated when someone was generous enough to buy it for us and have used it regularly ever since. It does a great job mixing all kinds of things and has been very durable. I like that it is sturdy and looks great in my kitchen, but also does its key job of mixing very well. It seems like it will last a long time and is high quality. It is great for all kinds of cooking jobs and you can buy attachments to make it even more versatile. I haven't purchased any attachments because they are a bit pricey, but I hope to look into that option someday. The mixer is a wonderful addition to any kitchen and a must have for any aspiring chef or home cook.

I bought my kitchenaid off of amazon about 6 months ago with gift certificate money from surveys. I was super excited to get it and try it out. I make bread everyday and the kitchenaid has been wonderful for kneading. I also love using the grinder attachment, because grocery store ground meat creeps me out. I use my mixer at least everyday, some days twice and I have had no problems whatsoever with its operation. My only suggestion is to buy the shield if you do a lot of bread or baking because the flour and dry ingredients will fly out of the side of the bowl. I would highly recommend this mixer.

I have always wanted a kitchenaid mixer ever since I was a little girl. I have always watched cooking shows and would love to see the kitchenaid at work. It was always what the famous tv chefs used and always made me want one. I finally moved into my own place with my own space. All I wanted was a kitchenaid. My husband surprised me for christmas and I was so thrilled. First I couldn't believe how heavy the thing is. I can tell that it is made of very high quality materials. It came with 3 different blades. A dough hook, whisk and paddle. Once out of the box it is super easy to change the blades and use. I have made cookies, cakes, and even ground meat with the attachment. I will forever be a kitchenaid fan. I put my mixer through a lot of work through the years and it still looks and works brand new. I know that I will have this mixer for years and years to come. Maybe even past it down when I do have children!

I can not say enough about this mixer.  I am a very big baker and always wanted to get a Kitchen Aid mixer and finally did and I could kick myself for not spending the money on it years ago.  The amount of time is saves you is amazing.  While the mixer is doing all the work you can be getting other ingredients ready or prepping something else. It is a very heavy duty mixer and gets the job done.  Be aware it is not a light item to carry.  If you are going to use it stationary and not have to remove it all the time then it should not be an issue for you.  Beware you do have to use the right accessories for your model.  Just do not go buy any one as it can ruin the bowl and the part you are using, ie:  whisk, paddle.  Love the colors that they offer for their mixers.  They clean up very easily.  I would recommend buying the sheild that goes around the bowl for spillage over the sides unless you put a towel over the top - that is what I do.  Enjoy!!!

Awesome Mixer

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I won the kitchenAid mixer in December of 2010 from the Lowes facebook gift of thon.  Before I got the mixer I did not really bake much but now I bake all the time.  This is the best mixer I have ever owned and it is so durable and easy to use.  The mixer is 4 and a half quarts with ten speeds and a tilt head which I love.  The mixer also came with three accessories a flat beater, wire whip and hook for kneading yeast dough.  The flat beater is good to use when making cookies, cake and general purpose mixing.  The whip is great for mixing eggs and making whip cream.  It was my first time making homemade whip cream and let me tell you it was delicious. ...

I received the KitchenAid stand mixer as a wedding gift and it has been great. It is easy to use, easy to clean and failry easy to move around. Mine came with three different attachments; a whisk, mixer, and one that is used for mixing bread. The bowl is easy to attach by twisting into place, you can lock the top down for safety and it's great that it comes in a variety of colors. I love that you can do just the basics with it but if you want to do a lot more, you can purchase more attachments for the mixer. So as your cooking creativity grows, your mixer can grow with you. No need to purchase another. The KitchenAid mixer quality is great. I have never heard anything bad about their products so when purchasing this, you are getting your money's worth! Great buy. Enjoy!
