These chews have been such a life saver for me. When I would get sick before finding these, it would always hit me really hard and I would be out for at least a week, the sickness would always make sure that I was going to be sick for a while. I got these as a recommendation of a great friend and took one the first moment that I started to feel sick, I was really hoping that it would be able to make me feel better faster and shorten the length of my illness. Within two days of taking these I felt completely back to normal and healthy, I had no more symptoms of being sick and felt great again. Now as soon as I am sick I immediately reach for these and I am never sick for more than a day or two anymore, I am always back at it really quickly. These are even something that helps keep my kids healthy, they will take them without a fight and they are always feeling better fast. These taste great, are so convenient and easy to take, I love to keep them with my in my purse so I can have them no matter where I am when I start to feel a cold coming on.

I had a cold so I wanted to find a way to get rid of it quickly without taking any nasty medicine. So, I tried the Zicam Cold Remedy Chewables because it looked just like candy and all you have to do is chew it. However, after I tried it, it didn't taste that good and it was ineffective. It tasted just like regular candy and didn't help my cold at all!

Anything that can help lessen the severity of a cold or eliminate it faster is a good thing on my book and one medicine made for this purpose is Zicam Cold Remedy. How Do They Work?: Zicam Cold Remedy is a chewable tablet medicine that is made to stop a cold from getting out of control and to help the body fight it off faster. As soon as you feel the onset of cold symptoms, the manufacturer recommends reaching for Zicam Cold Remedy. It uses the body's natural defenses and homeopathy to shorten the duration of a cold and make symptoms more bearable. Is This Medicine Effective?: Zicam Cold Remedy is not like a traditional medicine and it doesn't claim that it can eliminate a cold. But it does help cut a cold down to size by shortening the number of days the cold symptoms are felt and by making the symptoms less noticeable. I have tried this and similar products and have found some better than others. Zicam Cold Remedy does seem to make some difference, at least based on previous colds and the way I felt. There is no definite way to know, but it does seem like my colds are less strenouous than before when I use a product like this one. I cannot say that the duration was any shorter, but I do notice a difference in a cold's symptom severity when I take this medicine. I want to believe in all things Zicam.  No one has less patience for a cold than I do.  I am willing to be sick for all of 12 hours and then I want out.  I have things to do!  I work one on one with people and no one wants me coughing and sneezing during a consulation.  I went and got Zicam within 8 hours of starting to feel a cold coming on.  I chose the chewables because I wanted something to help with the scratchy throat and the stuffy nose.  I am a big believer in Afrin for the first 3 days so I didn't want a nasal spray.  I did want to try the homeopathic approach because Actifed and Sudofed make me crazy in the head and I wanted to try to avoid Day-Quil and Ny-Quil, which I have found to work, but are so full of chemicals and alcohol.  These Zicam chewables are vile, nasty, puke-inducing, awful, prefer to chew on the bottom of my shoes terrible.  The first chew is really quite palatable, but as the strawberry breaks down, the most vile inside is revealed and you have to keep chewing if you are going to get it down.  And then when it is time to take another one, you know how awful it is going to be and you just don't want to do it.  Not only did the Zicam not help my symptoms, but I relied on them far too long and ended up with a sinus infection and antibiotics.  Never again.

I am a believer in homeopathic remedies and in vitamin therapy. I wanted to like Zicam, and I've been trying it for quite a while now. I have a toddler who gets sick frequently, so I've had lots of opportunities to try it out. I use it according to the package directions, but after a lot of wasted money on many boxes of this product, I have to give it up. It just does not work for me. My colds never seem to be lighter/shorter/easier because of it. In fact, we were out of town recently when I got sick, so I didn't have any Zicam, and I noticed no difference at all beetween the duration or severity of that cold and all the other ones I've had where I've taken Zicam. I always felt like I was doing something proactive by taking Zicam, but in terms of actual health benefits I don't see it. I've decided to stop wasting money on this product. I'm better off putting that cash towards an excellent multi vitamin to hopefully improve my immune system overall.

We have been using this product for years now when someone comes down with a cold. If you do as they say and start taking it right away when you feel a cold coming on, it really does help shorten the length and severity of a cold. NO side affects, NO drowsy feelings.

This were nasty. I have used the zicam brands, and I like this the less. They are nasty, and more like candy then anything else. Its easy to just pop one and eat it. It feels like its not gonna work so I wound up popping more then I need.
