Vizio - L42HDTV Television Reviews

     Recently I helped my mother-inlaw buy a new television. We decided on a 42 inch HD Vizio tv. She was concerned about:price, quality, and features. At first when I saw the box for the tv itself I was skeptical because I had never heard of the name brand.

    Fortunately they had one set up so that we could see the quality and try some of the features. When you are in a store though you can never be sure of how you will feel about a product until you get it home and use it several times.

    It has been two months since I helped her pick out this tv. The clarity of the picture...

The last two TVs I've purchased were a 36" JVC that weighed what seemed like 1000 pounds and the Vizio 42" LCD flat screen.  Both cost the exact same amount (although the JVC was purchased about 5 years before.)

It's amazing how far the TV world has come.  The Vizio was simple for 2 people to hang on a wall with minimal effort and the picture beats the old JVC in every aspect.  It was torture trying to even move the JVC off a stand.  The hardest thing about hanging the vizio was finding studs and leveling the wall-mount.

We've had our 42" Vizio HDTV about a year now, and we couldn't be more satisfied.  The picture is soooo clear and sharp,  you feel like you're part of the program.  Even when not in HD mode, the picture is still very good.  We have a surround sound system hooked up to it, and it's awesome.  Even without the surround sound system, though, the regular surround sound on the TV is still good.  There are plenty of ports to hook other electronics to this TV too.  We have an HD DVD recorder/player hooked up as well.

Now for the best part.....the price!  You'd expect to pay a premium price for...

When  I saw this HDTV  in the store I knew immediately it was the one for me!  It has great looks, a great sound system and is a good value for the money spent. 

I also love the way the brand name, "VIZIO," lights up white when the HDTV is on and when the HDTV is off the "VIZIO" name switches to orange.  Kinda like a "mini-night light"!!

This HDTV can be wall mounted, but it does come with its own stand attached to the TV, right out of the box.

My brother-in-law got us this tv for our wedding and we couldn't be happier. It has great picture quality and it looks elegant. Everyone who comes to our hose says that they love the clarity of the tv. There really isn't anything wrong with it except the fact that it has no captions and if you lose the control you have to order another one from the company. Their a little pricey. We got this tv as a gift so its not such a big deal to us but if you go out and buy it yourself make sure you don't lose the remote or break it. And if you are hard of hearing definitely don't buy it. It has no captions....

My husband and I purchased this television about 6 months ago and we love it!!  The picture and sound are amazing.  We paid about $1200 for it and we feel it was money very well spent.  It is very easy to connect all of your devices to it and my boys fight over who is going to get to hook their video game system up to it. 

I do get a little nervous when I clean the screen.  It comes with a small orange cleaning cloth that you wipe the screen with.  It just feels like you are going to damage the screen when you clean it.

I purchased this television one year ago at Christmas.   It was easy to hook up to my sound system and other components.  Compared to my old wide screen television it has a bigger screen and weighs about half as much.

The picture quality is truly outstanding and can easily be adjusted to your own particular taste by using the very intuitive menu system.   Don't be afraid to experiment because you can always set everything back to default settings.is great and I have no complaints whatsoever.

My Hitachi 52" LCD TV went out and I was forced into making a television purchase and quickly.  I found myself drifting toward the Vizio because of the price more than anything but was unsure of this brand.  I bought it hesitantly in a hurry and love the quality.  It is way better than the Hitachi and the RCA I had previous to that.  It was a good buy and I would buy Vizio without hesitation in the future.
