Most HelpfulVerizon Wireless
I have always had issues with my cell phone carriers. Nothing ticks me off more than a dropped call. Apparently where I live, Spring has areas where, no matter how i try, I can't get phone service. One of those areas is my home! For the cost of Sprint service and the crappy phones...

Most HelpfulVerizon has us sucked in with their ever increasing duration of service warranty with heavy duty penalties for cancelling early. They always refuse to honor phone warranties. They claim that every phone damaged is water damage, no matter how preposterous this allegation may be. Customer "service"...
review »I use a cell for business and personal purposes. I have been a longterm customer of Verizon. Recently, I questioned the manner in which family plan minutes were calculated. Interestingly the calculations are not available to me, the customer, during the billing cycle, but are calculated after the cycle. In addition, the calculations do not include simultaneous minutes, but only one of the phones has added minutes and the secondary line is not added. The secondary's per minute costs are significantly higher than the primary line.
VZ also knew that there was a potential minute overage and...
review »Joining Cleveland Police Dept as an Auxilary Officer, I was given a great deal on a cell phone. 500 minutes (anytime, anywhere) for $50 a month. I was given a fold closed Motorola with a belt clip to hold it. I was quite impressed with the service. They even gave me 100 free minutes since we use the phones as our radios, so we do not get Net folks showing up to accidents, shootings & drug busts. So we use our cells to contact whomever we need assistance from.
2 years later I am driving home from a drug store who had a BOGO special on Tresseme shampoo & conditioner. A drunk in a van tries...
review »Since moving to Chicago's Western suburbs in 1995, I have had no less then five different cellular phone services, including Nextel (now merged with Sprint), PrimeCo (now merged with U.S. Cellular), T-Mobile (hated it), Cingular Wireless (now merged with AT&T Wireless) and now, Verizon Wireless, the service my company uses. Out of all other mobile carries I have used over the past ten years I have to say Verizon Wireless offers the best connection throughout the Chicago area, including my home in Aurora, where Cingular continues to fail me.
My Viewpoint
Verizon Wireless, the nation second...
review »I have had my phone 6 days, it never did hold a charge when I call customer assistance I was told that my phone had water damage. I live in the Phoenix area and there is no water in the area.
I was talked down to and was told that I needed to send my new phone back and they would activate my old phone untill an inspection was performed. Only then would I recieve a new phone.
I was on hold over a half an hour listening to the 30 day worry free garuntee, I just about exploded. This company gave me the run around and will continue to give people the run around. Their customer service sucks and to think...
review »For years I used Verizon Wireless. After all, I drove a truck regionally (mid-west) and wanted to stay in touch. At the time, they had a plan that suited me fine. Most of the time, I had a strong signal. Sure, in parts of the country I would be out of their coverage area, or get a weak signal. I think every company goes through that pain.
Here comes the bad part... After divorce and subsequent bankruptcy, I went back to Verizon Wireless and asked for a "pay-as-you-go" plan. They had one...GREAT! But, after years with the same phone, it was getting worn out. Two things to remember...
review »There was a time I hated cell phones. Actually, hated isn't quite the right word. Perhaps abhorred would be better. I couldn't stand the need to talk everywhere you went, while common courtesy to those who were actually in front of you seemingly disappeared.
But let me tell you: getting a flat tire on the side of the highway and having no cell phone will change your outlook real quick. It happened to me five years ago, and that very afternoon, I went out of work on my lunch break and signed up for my first cell phone contract.
I chose Verizon because I had heard good things about their...
review »Verizon provides cell phone service, land line service, and internet service. Their cell phone service contract requires you be locked in to a two-year contract, even if you get the "free upgrade" phone you're eligible for after one year; thus, a two year contract can easily turn in to a four (or more) year contract.
Local service has been horrible. I've never had so many calls dropped or lost with any other carrier and wish I'd never left Cingular. My friends on Cingular, Sprint, and Nextel get better reception and "more bars" than I do in the same places.
The service center is not user-friendly. ...
review »Liked this feature, phone and service from Verizon that I bought one and added to my phone for a friend in another state. She now can call anytime and I always know when she is calling me because of special ring tones.
It is a safe bet to check the coverage area map before you do this as it could cost you if they are in a roaming area where your service doesn't cover.
My friend convinced her family to join the network. She has 2 brothers and three sisters and They are all using the same network and not adding to their long distance phone bill.
They know when the other is calling. It is as good...
