My dermatologist recommended this product to help control my oily skin and moderate breakouts. I have been pleased with the results. She also told me that bacteria will not become immune to the active ingredient, 2.5% benzoyl peroxide, so you won't have to change your cleanser freqently to keep getting the desired results.

**AcneFree - Oil Free Purifying Cleanser** This cleanser is Step 1of the AcneFree 3 Step System. It is the best cleanser that I have ever used for the treatment of acne! I used to use ProActiv, but it left my skin very red, oily with dry patches, and it caused my skin to burn and itch a lot. This Acne Free cleanser is very mild for my sensitive skin, and still fights my acne, without leaving my skin looking oily or dry. This product is Paraben Free, and contains 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide. I have very sensitive skin, but this product, even though it contains Benzoyl Peroxide, does not irritate my skin at all. The product says, "For best results use morning and evening." I use it only once a day at night time, and I have had great results. You can buy this product at most drug stores. It is inexpensive to purchase, and provides fast acting acne treatment. You can use it along with the other 2 steps, or the cleanser can be used by itself. I have only used it by itself, so I have not tried the other 2 steps that go along with ithe cleanser.   **Warning: Do not use Acne Free Oil Free Purifying Cleanser if you are allergic or very sensitive to Benzoyl Peroxide.**

I really like this product. I noticed that while using it I had less zits! It really has no smell and is gentl yet powerful. It does not dry out your skin like other acne products except in the winter when humidity is lower. So you may want to get a good moisturizer too.

I don't have any kind of acne, but am prone to having large pores with noticable black heads. I've tried lots of products for trying to get rid of the black heads, some dried my skin, others left a film or greasy feel behind.  University Medical AcneFree never did any of those things. After using the cleanser my face felt cleansed and refreshed! Of course after just the first couple of days I noticed a few oil bumps, but from other reviews of the product I knew that it was due to my face adjusting to the cleansers ingredients. Apparently the cleanser when you first use it, rids your skin of foreign oils and toxins that causes break outs.  But after just two days the oil bumps stopped and my face glowed!  I've even noticed a difference in my pores.  I am constantly reccommending the Univesity Medical AcneFree Cleanser and their other products to people who talk about facial problems.  AcneFree is compared to Proactiv, but considering price and results, hands down my choice would be the University Medical AcneFree cleanser!!!

 I have been using the AcneFree system for a few years now.  Just recently I stopped using the entire system and started to only use the oil free cleanser.  I love how this makes my skin feel.  My face is noticeably cleaner, my pores are smaller and my acne is not pronounces.  When I used the entire system, I definitively got my acne under control but having the ability to just purchase the cleanser gives me more options for controlling acne when it is at a minimum.  The cleanser keeps my skin clean and reduces the oil I produce.  However, I do need to follow up with spot treatments and astringent on occasion.  I have pretty extreme combination skin and this cleanser does not over dry my dry areas and my oils is under control for at least 8 to 12 hours before becoming bothersome.  While the AcneFree oil free cleanser is not a complete solution to those with blemishes, I find it to be an economical alternative to some of the more expensive cleansers and a great basis for your skin care regime.

       I have been using acnefree purifying cleanser for a while now and really like it.  I will have to say I have tried so many face washes and was skeptical about this one at first but it is great.  I was using proactiv for a while but anyone that uses it knows it is costly.  So I found this product and wanted to give it a try.  It has granuals in it to help scrub away the dead skin but isn't harsh enough that it dries out your skin.  I think it does a great job of making my skin feel super clean after I have used it and that I love.  The price of this cleanser couldn't be better.  The other thing that I love is that you can buy it practically anywhere.  You don't have to hunt it down at a kiosk in the mall if you run out.  I love a cleanser that helps keep my skin clean and helps to keep me from breaking out.  So for the low price that you get the cleanser for you sure do get a lot of benefits from it.

My daughter's doctor recommended AcneFree oil free Purifying cleanser. She had developed white heads on her cheek. She used it at bedtime and in the morning she looked sun burned. We were able to get into the doctor and she said it looked like an alergic reaction to the AcneFree cleanser. She looked over the ingredients etc. and could not find a reason my daughter should be allergic to it. I contacted the company via e-mail two times informing them of what happened and asking if they were aware of what ingredient would cause this - my daughter has no allergies we know of and want to make sure we don't use whatever it is again.  They have given me no response. I do not reccomend AcneFree. Bad reaction and poor customer service add up to a bad experience. Read the ingredients before you buy it if you must and test a small spot before using - just in case. It isn't very expensive and in this case I feel it's over priced.

I switchced from proactive to acne free due to price and availability.  Truly the acne free is just as good as proactive, absolutly NO difference!  However, you can hardly squeeze the bottle to the cleanser.  I have phoned the company and was told that they need to keep the bottles how they are designed due to shipping.  I told them it was ridiculous and I would no longer use their product.  So that was that.  Back to proactive!

I use this product ALL the time.  I used to buy proactive to control my adult acne.  I tried acne free after seeing that the active ingredients are the same in proactive as in acne free.  I gave it a shot and the acne free works the exact same.  I don't always use the toner and the repairing lotion so this individual product works wonderful for me.  My teenage daughter also uses this facial cleanser with wonderful results.  It is much more economical to buy the acne free products for two rather than proactive.  Also this cleanser is available at both my Wal-Mart and my Wal-Greens so it's very convenient to just pick up as we need it instead of having to order on-line.  Also acne free will occasionally have coupons for their products and I try to buy this cleanser when I have a coupon for it.  Overall this is a great product - it WORKS - and it saves me a lot of money since I buy for two people in my home!!!

I bought this product on the word of my older sister and I couldn't be happier.  I have very oily prone skin so it was terrible for me to find a wash that didn't make the problem worse.  I could never control my acne and it was really starting to get me down.  When I finally broke down and bought this my acne cleared up right away - and even better my face actually felt clean.  The left-over oily feeling that mosturising creams left wasn't there!  I was so happy that I've been buying this ever sense.  When I moved recently I lost my bottle and tried an even cheaper type of acne cream and I can say that I truely paid the price.  My wedding is in 10 days and I've got acne all over the place!  I have since returned to this product and I love it. I heard this described once as Proactive at half the price.  Someday, when I have more money, I'm going to try the two products side-by-side, however, for now I'm happy to say that Acne free works.
