Swiffer Duster® Review Summary

Our neat freak reviewers like the Swiffer Duster because it is so simple to use. Just put the slim handle onto the refill. fluff, and dust! The Swiffer Duster picks up dust, pet hair, and everything else in its path without the use of sprays. Maryellenp says, "I love my swiffer duster. " Our busy reviewers find that this handy gadget reduces the time it takes to dust their homes by a huge amount. AnnaBanana shares, " I will frankly admit that Swiffer Dusters have not changed my attitude dramatically about dusting." The one caveat about the dusters: they're not recyclable. Our reviewers hope that Swiffer comes up with a greener version soon. Looking for other dusting products? Check out our other reviews.

As a guy who would rather be spending his valuable time writing for a living or socializing online, I will be the first to admit that I have never been too fond of housekeeping and housecleaning chores.

I have been doing them, though, since I was nine years old; back then my assigned chores were picking...

I despise dust.  A lot.  So I'm always on the lookout for products that will help me keep my home dust-free.  When I saw the Swiffer Duster commercial featuring a woman dancing around a house (which wasn't her house) happily dusting away, I knew that I wanted to try it.  Well, after two tries, it's...

I cannot say it strongly enough:  I hate dusting.  I always end up sneezing my way through this mindless chore, and the dust bunnies retreat to the corners where I have a hard time reaching them.  Because I am unapologetically frugal and aspire to be eco-conscious, I generally use a microfiber cloth for dusting rather than disposable products.  Still, when my husband brought home a box of Swiffer Dusters from his grocery trip, I was more than happy to give them a try.

Swiffer Dusters come in a box that contains one handle and five disposable dusters.  The handle is a cinch to snap together,...

Every now and then, someone comes up with such a wonderful idea that you wonder how we ever lived without it.  Where would we be today if some genius hadn't invented the telephone, electricity, running water ... or Swiffer Dusters

Among the many domestic chores which I don't hunker to do is dusting.  There have been many times when I actually refrained from buying some gizmo or other because it didn't pass my own personal litmus test of "Sure, I want to BUY it but am I going to want to DUST it?"  I will frankly admit that Swiffer Dusters have not changed my attitude dramatically about dusting...

I've been using the Swiffer Duster for a while now.  Make no mistake, I do not like to dust.  Nope, just don't have the patience for it.  This is especially true when it comes to glass shelves.  And, here in the Xeno abode we have glass shelves everywhere!

When you enter the vestibule of our home you are struck by glass shelves that seem to appear from nowhere and are illuminated by a very high intensity lamp that pierces through them.  Note:  These are the only bulbs in the house that are not compact fluorescent.

These shelves are the home of the beautiful Mrs. Xeno's elephant collection. ...

all about 'easy', messy, not into cleaning

JAN

All my life I've been dusting the surfaces in my home using a damp rag.  That's how my mom did it so that's how I did it.  It was kind of a messy job and not the most effective method but it's what I knew so it's what I did.

Then last year a bunch of gals on an online forum where I post were talking about products they love and many of them were talking about this thing called a Swiffer Duster.  Well I'm not a big fan of wipes and disposable things as I think they are wasteful but everyone was raving about them so I bought a trial package and gave them a try.  And I could kick myself in the...

I love my Swiffer Duster. I have the extendable handle version, and I use it all the time. My daughter has been helping me by dusting the entire house since she was about 4. She still loves to dust for me. HEE HEE! I love it when a chore seems like fun to the kids!

About a year ago, I thought I should give one to Grandma. She's in her late 70's, and is not a fan of change or new stuff. For the past 20 years, she's used her dishwasher as storage for her pots, pans, and oddly enough, her napkins. :D Grandma's old school to the Nth degree.

So I often show up at her house with little things I think...

I'm not the world's most conscientious homeowner when it comes to cleaning chores.  I run the Roomba and Scooba in the afternoon when I get home from work, I scoop out litter boxes, and I change the papers in the parrot cages.  Eventually I get around to the dishes, counters, and bathroom...  The dusting component of cleaning the house tends to be entirely forgotten and avoided when I do remember it, because I don't want to deal with the precipitation that rains down on me as I dust the house.  Enter the Swiffer Duster.

The Swiffer Duster consists of a reusable and adjustable plastic handle...

Swiffer is a great name for a cleaning product that really is a swift cleaner!  I love my swiffer duster.  I put the pad on the bottom and tuck it into the holes on the top of the swiffer and away I go.  I quickly dust my hardwood floors and my kitchen floor and even my bathroom floor.  I can also use this item up in the corners of the wall where little cobwebs tend to be.  It is quick and easy to do.  My pomeranians leave hair all over my house, and my swiffer duster quickly cleans it right up!

The Swiffer unit can be purchased fairly inexpensively.  I have seen it on sale...

Those "Dust Bunnies: don't stand a chance with the Swiffer Duster around my house! I was first introduced to this wonderful product a couple of years ago while working retail. I was SO impressed with it that I bought a Swiffer Duster for my own personal use at home. I have never used any duster that even comes close to the performance of this handy little gadget! The Swiffer Duster far exceeded my expectations in that it "grabs hold" of even the tiniest little dust particles and "traps" the particles within its individual fiber "fingers." These "sticky fingers" hold on tight to the dust, not allowing...

Where have these things been all my life?  Oh Brothers and Sisters these are like magical wands.  I now dust everything on a weekly basis, my computer and tv screens stay free of dust. What a vast improvement over the old furniture polish and old sock routine and definitely more sanitary than the feather dusters of old. I feel like I've discovered something that has changed my life. I actually enjoy cleaning. They work folks, they work.  They are a no brainer to use and bless them one duster lasts a good while. Only thing I can see wrong is the environmental thing that we are now adding one... review »

This is a good little  item for dusting in a hurry. It works great on mini blinds, picture frames, and sconces with candle holders. It pick up the dust without spreading it all over the house. I like to use it for quick cleaning but I prefer to use a polish on my wood furniture. i would recommend this to someone who doesn't have much time for cleaning, or someone with allergies

I bought this initially because my husband collects action figgures, and I saw a commerical where a woman was dodging in and out of nicknacks very effectively.  That it does, but we have expanded its uses in our home.

I use it to clean ceiling fans, between the horozontal blinds, and also - at my sister in law's suggestion, to clean the baseboards.  Mah-va-lous!

My husband got a kick out of the fact that the instructions on the platic handle are in Japanese, not English.

I see other reviewers say the handle was too short.  I got a starter kit at Target, and it came with a snap in extender, so i...

The Swiffer Duster comes with a handle and disposable dusters. It fits into spaces that other dusters do not. The duster also picks up the dust instead of just stiiring it up like many other dusters and cloths do.

The Swiffer Duster is compact, making it easy to store. It does have a short handle, so you might have a little trouble with high places.

The Swiffer Duster is also only for dry surfaces.

I highly recommend the Duster for all households especially those where household members have allergies.

These are convenient, but they are not very durable, you can only use them once, obviously, but  some have ripped even when just inserting the handle. They are good for getting into tighter spots or cleaning ceiling fan blades but just not worth the expense to me since you can pretty much do one room with them and dispose of it - causing an awful lot of waste as well. One good thing about it is that there are no chemical sprays involved, but I don't think that makes up for all of these going into the landfills.
