I've tried about 15 different foundations, at least.  I've tried liquid, loose powder, pressed powder, etc.  I don't usually wear face makeup, except for the occasional lipgloss.  But every once in a while I like to have a "pretty day" and cover up the acne scars on my face, or dress up to go out.  My forehead is significantly darker than the rest of my face, but you don't really notice it until I'm wearing foundation normally.  Even other foundations that have been a very close match have never looked this natural.  My boyfriend and roommates, at least, could always tell if I was wearing foundation before I found this one.  I'm a big fan of the natural look, so that didn't sit very well with me.  Even on times when I thought I'd found the right foundation that matched (which in the light, it usually did, and people would say it was fine), in pictures my face looked like it was a different color than the rest of my body.  And I love my freckles, but want to cover my scars.  So, needless to say, it's been a difficult run to find the right foundation for me.  I have NONE of those problems with the Stila foundation!  Although my scars still show through a bit (I have yet to go and get the matching concealer since i'm on a budget), I can see my freckles and it has good coverage.  The only area where people can usually tell at all that I'm wearing foundation is around my lips if I forget to wear lotion and when I put blush on before the foundation has a few minutes to settle properly onto my skin.  At last, the search is over!

I found Stila a few years ago and I was hooked.  I love the foundation to cover well and hide blemishes or discolorations.  It is a little more expensive than other brands, but the quality way out ways the cost difference.  I also find it lasts a very long time.  It works as both foundation and powder which means it does the work of 2 products, as well as concealer which means 3 products.  Very worth the money.  I love it!

I bought this powder,Illuminating Powder in 40 Watts,  from Stila along with the refillable case.  I've been looking for a new face powder.  I've used Clinique's almost makeup powder in the past and loved it.  They had a great color for me.  I guess I was just thinking that something would be better on the other side of the fence.  This sure is cuter!  I love the little silver case and the fact that the sponge is not stored with the makeup but in it's own separate vented compartment.  Super cute case, it's something that I'd want to be seen taking out of my bag in public. Now for the powder itself.  Given the name, I was concerned it would be glittery.  Not at all.  It doesn't even have as much illumination as their illuminating tinted moisturizer.  It has just a little sheen to make the foundation not look flat.  I think that's great.  The color is great for my skin, and it blends well.  I wouldn't say that this covers like a powder foundation (but I guess I'm comparing it to mineral makeup on that front). I love this stuff over a tinted moisturizer to boost the staying power.  Overall I'd call this an excellent finishing powder, cute packaging and good product.

i agree with the previous reviewer who said that stila illuminating powder foundation is great for those that have hard to cover up skin. i have battled with acne on and off throughout my teenage years and in to adulthood, and have never come across a product quite as good as this one. it has honestly been a lifesaver for me. this foundation gives excellent coverage without ever looking heavy at all. it doesn't even look like i'm wearing makeup at all - a sign of a great product! i use concealer to cover up any spots and apply the stila illuminating powder foundation on top with a large brush. because of this product i have everyone fooled into thinking i have good skin! even on my worst breakout days, i still somehow manage to get compliments, it's truly that amazing. i have been using this in the shade "20 watt" since i was in high school and would never dream of using something else. the only complaint i have is that it can get costly - i go through about one refill every six weeks or so!
