Smashbox Photo Finish in the light formula is just what I needed. I loved the concealing power of the original formula, but it always caused me to break out after the fact. The "light" version of this product is the perfect solution. It has an awesome flawless texture and works wonders like the original so that your skin feels perfectly smooth to the touch. Oily shine is also mattified- I noted for 8 hours during one wear. You can wear this alone, or it makes your make-up application look even more perfect by not letting particles settle into any imperfections or wrinkles and become more obvious....

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer, in any formula, is the best!  I love it so much but use it so sparringly.  It makes my face feel so smooth that sometimes I just put that on and just say to myself "what the heck, I'll go au'natural with just my primer."  My makeup never runs, or bleeds when I am wearing Smashbox's primer and at the end of the day when I wash my face it feels so smooth, almost as if it was never dirty in the first place!  I will always bounce around and try different foundations, but the primer that goes underneath (95% of the time) will always be the same!  The only vice I have...

I have always used powder foundations until I stumbled across the perfect liquid foundation. While I was at sephora I purchased Makeup Forever HD foundation as well as receiving a few samples of foundation primers. I didn't want to spend a butt-load of money on a product unless I knew it worked the best for me. The lady suggested a few products so I ended up with a sample of urban decay primer, laura mercier primer and prime time primer from bare escentuals. I bought the Smashbox Primer Light about 2 months ago, and haven't noticed a difference at all.  I use it on top of a moistureizer with powder makeup, and it still comes off.  My face isn't overly oily or dry, but I wouldn't suggest this to any friends.  I feel that for the $30+ I spent that I should be getting a much bigger bang for my buck. My face is still shines at the end of a hard day, my makeup still doesn't cling to my skin like I'd hoped, but it does feel good on my face.  Maybe if you have 0 skin problems, but believe that you need a primer, then this procuct is for you. I was very dissappointed in Smashbox Primer. For the $35 price, I expected it to be somewhat of a "miracle product," but It fell way below expectations. It did not seem to smooth out my skin or make my pores look smaller. Shortly after using Smashbox primer, my face broke out with nasty pimples which I am still trying to get rid of. I haven't had zits like this since junior high!!! The primer apparently clogs my pores. The only good thing I can say about the product is that my foundation did not melt off in the hot summer heat when I was using it.

I found that this primer is very light. But the consistency reminds me of glue for some reason and the slight smell. It is not as easy to spread and apply as the smashbox dermaxyl version. But because I have oily/combination skin, I decided to get this since the dermaxyl isn't oil-free. But nonetheless, it gets the job done, makes makeup stick to it longer. Just wish the consistency was easier to spread.

I have super sensitive skin, which is why I use Smashbox Photofinish Foundation Primer Light. It does the exact same this as the original primer but works much better for my touchy skin.

Honestly, I was never into foundation primers until a friend turned me onto Smashbox. Every primer I used before made my skin feel greasy, clogged my pores and didn't seem to do anything for my skin. Not so with Smashbox Photofinish! This amazing primer works to keep my makeup on all day long and actually feels very light and moisturizing on my skin.
