This vacuum was a gift from my mom when I moved into my dorm room freshman year. That was six years ago and it is still working well. I feel it is best for the dorm room or small apartment with limited carpeting because the container fills up quickly. It can essentially handle the same as a hand-held vacuum cleaner you would use in your car but it has the convenience of the stand up vacuum. It worked for the one carpet I had in the dorm and the one carpet I had in my old apartment. Now I'm married and in a larger apartment with a dog that sheds insane amounts, I can still use my vacuum but I need to clean it out about 3-6 times depending on how long it's been in between vacuums. Of course, this is a great deal since I'd rather save money for other things and vacuums targeting pets tend to be expensive. Also, this vacuum is convenient for storage purposes. We have one closet for storage and it's great to not use it all for a vacuum.
