Chef Michael's is my dog's newest BFF!

5

If my dog could talk, I'm sure that she'd say "why have you been holding out on me for so long?" After eleven years of the same old dry dog food, my pampered pooch has finally been eating gourmet food several times per week. Okay, so it's dog food, but I'm sure that it's a delicious addition to her formerly under-active taste buds. Purina Chef Michael's Canine Creations wet dog food seems geared towards smaller dogs. I can't imagine my brother's huge labrador retriever eating one can and being satisfied. Heck, he'd probably eat the metal can too. This product is a little more pricey than some other brands on the market, especially if you compare the cost per ounce with a larger can of wet food. However, I only will buy this when it's on sale or if I have a coupon. My dog loves this food so I recommend it to anyone with a small dog looking for a tasty meal. Quality of Ingredients While I can not vouch for the taste of Chef Michael's wet dog food, I can say that it does look really tasty. Each can has real chunks of meat, a few pieces of vegetables, and comes in either a pate version or with sauce. This stuff looks so good that I fear that my husband would accidentally eat it if I left it on a plate on the countertop. Flavor Selection Check out these tantalizing flavors: Rotisserie Chicken, Sirloin Steak, Beef Tenderloin, Herb Chicken, Smoked Turkey, Pork Tenderloin, Filet Mignon, and Porterhouse Steak. Are you drooling yet? My dog has tried several of these flavors and she loves each one. When she sees me with a can of Purina Chef Michael's Canine Creations in hand, she does the happy dance and does not calm down until the can is set in front of her. The small 3 oz. size of the can is perfect for her and she always eats every morsel.

Makes your dog's meal gourmet

As a special treat we like to add canned dog food from time to time to our dog's dry dog food.  Recently we were able to invite Chef Michael to our home to whip up a little gourmet "wet meal" for our dogs that included rotisserie chicken and vegetables.  **Purina's Chef Michael Canine Creations Wet Meals Ingredients: ** Water sufficient for processing, chicken, liver, wheat gluten, meat by-products, carrots, turkey, corn starch-modified, corn, artificial and natural flavors, soy flour, calcium phosphate, salt, natural rotisserie chicken flavor, potassium chloride, added color, zinc sulfate, choline chloride, Vitamin E supplement, ferrous sulfate, copper sulfate, thiamine mononitrate, manganese sulfate, Vitamin A supplement, niacin, calcium pantothenate, Vitamin B-12 supplement, riboflavin supplement, pyridoxine hydrochloride, potassium iodide, Vitamin D-3 supplement, folic acid, sodium selenite, biotin. A-5911 **Nutrition for Chef Michael Canine Creations Rotissiere Chicken**  Crude Protein (Min).........................11.0%Crude Fat (Min)................................2.5%Crude Fiber (Max)............................1.5%Moisture (Max)..................................78.0% **Chef Michael's In Sauce Rotisserie Chicken Flavor and carrot & corn garnishes** is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for growth of puppies and maintenance of adult dogs. Cans of **Chef Michael's In Sauce Rotisserie Chicken Flavor and carrot & corn garnishes** are very tiny, but really just the right size for adding a little something to my small dogs dog food dish. My larger dog would gobble it up in a second and look to me for more.  It is also a lot more expensive than most other wet food cans of dog food, so they will definitely be reserved for special treats.  The other day when I opened up the can of **Chef Michael's In Sauce Rotisserie Chicken Flavor and carrot & corn garnishes** my Jack new what was coming and the happy dance began.  There was nice sized diced chicken, no yucky wet dog food smell that makes you want to gag, and it almost looked like a frozen meal that you would serve yourself or a toddler Gerber Graduates meal with tiny bits of carrots and corn visible, not hiding away. It is easy to serve, we don't even need a can opener since it is a pop top can and it comes with a plastic lid in case you don't use it all in one feeding.   **Chef Michael's In Sauce Rotisserie Chicken Flavor and carrot & corn garnishes** definitely turns my little mutts (ok he is AKC Westie) meal into a gourmet feast that he enjoys and we enjoy seeing him happy. However, they are so expensive they will be the occasional treat, not the daily one.

Good quality but too little of it

Purina's Chef Michaels wet food has been highly marketed at the grocery store and on television.  With coupons in hand, I purchased a few cans to try on my three dogs at home. My dogs, a beagle and two terriers, are not picky eaters but the smell of good meaty food makes them go wild.  When I opened the can of Chef Michaels I got a lukewarm response from them, letting me know that it wasn't meaty enough for them to really get excited. The food inside the can looks meaty and some varieties contain peas and pieces of other vegetables.  The dogs seem to enjoy the food with no complaints. The cans are extremely small, containing only 3 oz of food.  The can does come with a plastic lid, which is a great feature, except that there is no need to use it since the can is so small and you end up using the entire can. Purina's Chef Michaels wet food is a new option to give your dogs some variety but I highly suggest you buy it on sale to make it competitive ounce for ounce with other dog foods.

Expensive but a pleaser

My dog loves the smell and taste of these but I can't justify buying them for her on a regular basis because they are so expensive. If they are on sale, or I have a coupon, I will pick up a few as a treat because I know my dog loves them so much. But I am not sold on the whole "gourmet" marketing of the product, nor do I really think they are any better for my dog than other wet food. Plus these cans are obviously made for small dogs and my 40-lb dog needs more than the measly amount in one can. That means I have to give her two cans (with dry food) for it to be a decent-sized meal. For the price of two cans of this product (to have one meal), I can buy three meals of another brand.  That said, my dog truly is a fan. As soon as I open a can, she comes running over, sniffing as hard as she can. I look at these meals like I look at a human meal out at a restaurant: not something I want to pay for on a regular basis but worth it on occasion.

Your dog is going to love Chef Michaels Canine Creations!

Chef Michaels Canine Creations is a great food for picky dogs.  My dog will not eat just dry food so, if I mix a spoonful of Chef Michaels Canine Creations wet food, she is will eat every bite.  I love the way you can see all of the different vegetables and meat.  It almost looks like something you could make for your dog yourself!  You can see peas, carrots, sometimes corn depending on what flavor you buy for your dog.  Oh, and speaking of flavors, Chef Michaels has so many to choose from.  It is a great choice for your picky dog or any dog for that matter!

My dogs go crazy for it!

I bought this, honestly, because after coupons it was free. However, it is definitely something I'm going to have to keep buying. My dogs go crazy for it. They love it. So do my cats as a matter of fact. Chef Michael's Canine Creations is the best new wet food for dogs, ever! It smells fresh and looks like stew I would make for myself.

My fur babies love this stuff

I have two small dogs who I spoil as much as my budget will allow. Recently I had a coupon for Chef Michaels bagged dog food, so I purchased a bag. Let me tell you, my two little fur babies went nuts for this stuff. They ate their bowel of food within minutes!! I usually put down a bowl of food in the morning and it will still have food in it in the evenings. Well not with Chef Michaels food!! I feel a food switch coming on!!
