Proscan 26LB30QD LCD TV with internal DVD player. Typical discount store TV, good choice for bedroom or other secondary viewing site. Principal attractions are low selling price and internal DVD player allows "clean" installation. Also features ample input connections and moderate power consumption. Tuner includes ATSC and QAM tuning. Main dislikes are the poor maximum-contrast ratio which makes dark scenes foggy, gives color rendition a cartoon-like quality. IR remote receiver has narrow angle of acceptance, remote hand unit must be within about 25 degrees of lens axis. Audio digital-to-analog converter (DAC) is clearly inferior, makes constant whine in both audio channels whenever receiver is in tuner mode. Maximum resolution is 720P. Overall, it's worth the price and you can't get a much better image in this screen size unless you find a quality CRT set, no longer available new.
