Purina Pro Plan Shredded Chicken and Rice formula saved my rescued and malnourished 5 week old puppy. I acquired my puppy through a woman and she stated the puppy was already eating puppy chow. I thought that was strange as my puppy was only 5 weeks old and had no teeth to chew food with. I immediately went to the store and purchased a milk replacement and a natural dog food. The natural food didn't become soft enough for her to eat so I went back to the store. I've always had success with Purina so I grabbed the Pro Plan Shredded Chicken and Rice blend. Added this to her milk replacement, waited for it to soften, and fed it to her. She ate this right up! After a week on this food and her milk replacement the vet said she was getting healthier and was getting the nutrients she was needing. Now at 7 months old she still eats this food. She won't eat anything else. She loves the little chicken pieces. I even caught my cat grabbing a piece of the chicken and running away with it. My dog is healthy thanks to this food. It saved her. It doesn't have tons of added fillers and junk like other foods do.

I inherited a dog that had been fed Pedigree (the big yellow bag) by his previous owners. I already had two dogs, and for simplicity sake, I wanted to get them to all eat the same diet. I tried to put my dogs on the Pedigree diet, and they loved the food, but it took more and more food for them to seem satisfied. My two original dogs ended up gaining weight. I decided to do some research and switch all of my dogs to a new food. I found that Purina ProPlan (shredded chicken and rice) had good reviews. I could handle to cost for three big dogs. The ingredients seemed to be of a better quality than many other brands. My dogs (all three) love this new food. I find that they need less food than they needed with Pedigree. They have lost weight and are now much healthier and active. I really love the ProPlan diet for my dogs. The food will often times come with a coupon. I can usually line the coupon up with deals at the store to get a decent price. Quality of Ingredients I do not have tons of brands of dog food to compare, but I did quite a lot of research and found that ProPlan has good ingredients for the price. I would love to put my dogs on one the really expensive, super high quality foods, but I simply cannot afford this. Flavor Selection There are many flavors to pick from, but my dogs prefer the Shredded Chicken and Rice formula.

I have one dog and she is 10 years old. we have been feed her this product since she is 1 month old... she is very health and have beautiful coat. she love this product a lot. we try to switch other brands , but she didn't really want to try other new food and doctor say just keep let her eat this brand because she have good health and great enengy.

In order to accomodate our budget we were previously buying an inexpenive Store brand dog food...that is now changed since finding Pro Plan.  We found a coupon and decided to try this food, now our rottweiler will not eat the other food.  We even tried mixing the two different foods in his bowl to get him to finish the old food and he will sort it and only eat the pro plan.  We have only tried the Chicken and Rice formula, but we have already noticed a difference in our dog's coat and health.  He has more energy and he seems so much happier.  Now he will be one spoiled dog. Although this food is a little more expensive than some other bargain brands I do feel that it is worth it.  Our dog loves it and I honestly feel that it will make him a happier and healthier dog.  We all get a huge kick out of watching how he would sort the purina pro plan from the bargain brand.  I never though that I would see the day that our dog chose not to eat a food.  From a human stand point I can also say that I can smell the difference as well.  It smells great and I feel much better feeding it to my dog.

**I have two Collies that eat only Pro Plan "Shredded Blend Chicken and Rice Formula" dog food by Purina. Occasionally we will mix it up and get the beef flavor. I would recommend buying the 34 - 37.5 pound bag to save money. My dogs occasionally have sensitive stomaches when they eat something they should not but never does this happen when eating their Pro Plan dinners. We wet the food down and let it sit before they eat so it does not expand in their stomaches. My breeder recommended Pro Plan and my dogs have been eating Pro Plan since we brought my first dog home from the breeder 16 years ago. We tried a few other brands over the years but have now decided that Pro Plan is the brand for us. We never seem to have stomache issues and the dogs like the food. I have bred Collies myself and all my dogs eat Pro Plan. The food is reasonably priced and is made with quality ingredients. They sell food for puppies through senior dogs.**
