Works in a pinch

The Story: This winter the house was actually staying warm thanks to the Honeywell Thermostat we bought (see review: http://www.viewpoints.com/Honeywell-Programmable-Electronic-Thermostat-RTH230B--112741-review-0aac0). Unfortunately the furnace decided to have problems right in the middle of a stormy snow week. When it decided to stop working all together my boyfriends and I were forced to get desperate. (It only took us one day with no heat and our house being 49 degrees). We went and bought this cheap little electric heater that we could carry from room to room with us. The Basics: It doesn't put out a whole lot of heat. It definitely doesn't heat a whole room. If you sit right in front of it you stay fairly toasty. We put it on the floor and then the people and the animals all gathered around it while we watched tv. The Selling Points: 1500 watts, 5200 BTU's, a high and a low setting, a fan setting for circulating room air, a one year limited warranty (probably wouldn't even bother with sending it in), overheat protection, no tip over protection, an 8 hour timer, oscillation that you can turn on or off for rotating or stationary, careful around pets and children. My thoughts: If you use this as a feet warmer in on office (say under your desk) this would be perfect. Works pretty well in a small bathroom just be careful of the whole electrocution factor. When you're so desperate to wear sweatshirts and beanies in your house (and all of your animals are getting along and cuddling up together for warmth) this heater works fabulously.....sort of.
