Sucks sometimes, but can do the job

3

I don't think this is the best gps, but it does get the job done. There were a lot of times when were really in need of this product to help us get somewhere and the thing wouldn't work! First off, it takes a long time for it to start up. I think this gps takes a lot of battery power because when I leave it hooked up to the car without it turned on and eventually unplug it, it dies within a few seconds. I'm not too mad about that since it stays in the car, but it would be nice that the thing indicated it was going to die soon before doing so. Moving on, once it actually starts up, sometimes it doesn't register the responses i put in. I get so frustrated that I almost always throw it out the window! When I do miraculously get to put in the information, it takes a very long time to get gps signal! Sometimes I am in a rush and don't have time to pull over to let it acquire the signal so it's really inconvenient. Another thing is that some places are still unregistered on the gps! So even though I know theres a stop and shop somewhere in the area and just need to know where to go, it might not show up! If you have the money, get a better one.

With the Nextar-navx3 I don't get lost anymore.

I received my Nextar-Navx3 from my husband after we had moved to a new state and I got lost of the second time.  It is easy to program and fun to listen to. The screen is a convenient size making it easy to see. I would not have bought a navigation system for myself, but I'm glad my husband felt it important enought to buy it for me. It is nice to have someone with you in the vehicle to tell you the way to go.I like the fact that the Nextar-Navx3 is portable and can be taken out of the car when it is parked and not leaving the GPS to attract theives.  I have purchased two for Christmas gifts for my children who live out of my state and need travel help at sometime. It's great.  If I ever had any doubt about using the Nextar-Navx3, my doubts are gone.   It is very easy to use, program, store and follow its directions.   All I need to do now is to remember to  put it in the vehicle with me when I plan to go somewhere.

It was a good product and was a great product for a great price, I would say if anyone who would be looking for a gps system and did not want to spend an arm and a leg for a gps system and did not need all the extras, this gps will get you there and back home very easily. I was always getting lost wherever I went, but getting this gps was a miracle.

Worked better than my tomtom

**I love my gps. I had a tomtom and it broke on me and now i went with a cheaper model and it has outlasted the other one and the lag time is no where near what the other one is.  It lacks POI and such but it gets me where I need to go every time!**

So my boyfriend and I travel, quite frequently.  For his birthday his aunt got him a GPS.  I've looked around for a few I wanted..saw the nextar, saw a few bad reviews, and saw the cheapest pricetag out of the bunch.  The thing works, but not to a out-of-towner's expectation.  To get a destination point, you must have the EXACT location, street number, mname, city, state, and zip.  There's no only entering some information to get you to roughly where you're trying to go.  Similar to most GPS devices, you can choose from a list of "point-of-interests".  The only thing that sets that feature aside from other GPS device's; there's no interesting places to go that are pre-set!  We searched for about 10 minutes looking for the Philadelphia Airport and it wasn't listed.  We had to drive to a coffee shop that had computers, pay for time on a computer to google the address as the airport and then enter it into the GPS.  Not only did we go thru all of that to go on a 3 hour trip (that was only estimated 1.5hrs on mapquest) but it only took us to the general area of the airport and left it up to us to find out where to go! A few good features are in this product that are very helpful is that it does re-route you if you start to go the wrong way rather than just tell you "turn around" over and over and over again like the Garmin. It's not as loud as you'd like..if you like to ride with your windows down, dont take your Nextar GPS on the highway with you - you wont be able to hear her faint voice over the wind!  On top of that music has to be at its lowest setting to hear the GPS over the radio.  The screen has a very low brightness to it aswell...it's pretty much only able to be seen in the dark..unless you like squinting and getting an inch in front of it at the same time as trying to drive down the road. In conclusion- It'll pretty much get you where you want to go..not so much in a good mood when you get there- but you get there.

My friend bought this Nextar ngps3 GPS, then gave it to me when he bought a better one.  We have both been extremely disappointed with the Nextar ngps3.  The company has promised since day one to provide updated software 'soon' but in two and one-half years has not issued one update.  Many points of interest that the ngps3 lists are closed, and newer places (two years old) are not listed.  MP3's can be played with the addition of a SD card, but the SD card must be loaded through a SD reader on your computer.  You cannot plug the ngps3 into your computer and load MP3's into it that way.  The ngps3 has a short battery life of about 2 hours but can be plugged into a cigarette lighter.  The ngps's menus are not intuitive.  No GPS software is included for creating routes and downloading from your computer.  Customer support is horrible - after only 2.5 years they no longer support this model.  The person at their customer service line who told me this was totally unconcerned that they had promised updates but never released any.  I would never buy anything else made by this company.

Not many features, but it will get you there.

This is a basic unit.  It will allow you to upload mp3 and image files.  So I guess you can also use it as a very small digital picture frame.  The voice prompts allow plenty of time to position for your next turn.  Maps are dated about 2006, so some errors are possible.  I have not found a way to download new POI (points of interest) from the internet, so that may be a set back.  This unit has a VERY short battery life, maybe one and a half hours fully charged.  Address input is easy.  You pick a state, start typing the city until it shows in the list, pick a house number, then street.  Addresses are accurate with minimal flaws.  My particular address says I am across the street.  But keep this in mind, paper maps don't have street numbers.  The menu system is very intuitive.  My wife was able to navigate, save favorite addresses, and change settings without using the manual.  For a cheapy system you get your money's worth. Does have one small glitch.  At times a "ghost" will turn the unit on without anyone else around.

My Nextar has been so helpful to me.  I moved to a different state where I did not know where anything was.  It has helped me find new places to eat.  Also, it has been very helpful when I have had to take business trips to large cities that I have never been to before.  I am able to relax and not worry about getting lost.  The only thing I wish Nextar had was the current speed limit of the area in which you are driving in posted on the screen.  Besides that I love it!

Nextar- GPS is affordable and easy to use!

I bought my Nextar GPS on the day after Thanksgiving.  I was so excited about buying it and testing it out.  When I took it home to try it out it took awhile to aquire my GPS signal.  Because I am not from the Kansas area originally, it is very easy to get lost.  I took my GPS system out and I was able to navigate anywhere.  It was very easy to use and it was affordable too.

I really like this GPS.

I bought this Nextar GPS to replace a Tom Tom GPS that was stolen out of my car. I found it online for 40 bucks and I thought it was a great deal. It does everything my Tom Tom did. I was concerned because of the cheap price but it turns out there is nothing to be concerned about. I guess I have to rely on GPS navigation systems to get me where i'm going. It speaks every turn and when you are on the highway it lets you know when your exit is coming up. It changes color at night making it easier to see when you are driving. It comes with a dashboard mount and a suction cup mount if you want to stick it to the window when you are driving. If you make a wrong turn it will tell you how to get back on track. It also comes with an antenna for a traffic station but I haven't checked that out yet. If it works it is another perk of the product. You can hook it up to your computer to get updates and maps.
