Men's Health Review Summary

Looking for a good men’s health magazine? Well then, the most logical choice would likely be Men’s Health Magazine, but beware, it only gets so-so ratings from Viewpoints members. The majority of our reviewers believe that it is “jam packed with sound nutritional and exercise advice”. Good, but the complaints start to pile up from there about it’s content and how “it can get repetitive”. One reviewer says “most of the articles are snippets of information stuck between far too many glossy advertisements.” Want to keep looking? Viewpoints has many more magazine reviews.

I have been reading Men's Health for several years, buying the magazine before business trips. I finally subscribed and enjoy getting the magazine each and every month in the mail. It is jam packed with sound nutritional and exercise advice. Being a scientist, I am delighted to see that many short articles...

Bottom-Line: I have come to the conclusion the Men's Health is not written for me.

I had been meaning to pick up an issue of Men's Health for quite some time when I picked up a copy-the October 2007 issue-while shopping for a computer manual at Borders.  The cover-as they...

I used to really love Men's Health for it's useful and practical workout information, but these days it's like it's being written by lecturing women telling men How they like to be chatted up, How they like to be made love to, How they need to be treated.....and so on.

So why don't they just call it 'Women's Health?' Because it's positively bad for men's health and good for women's health, or at least bad for men's self esteem. Reading it now makes me feel like a second class citizen!

I'm not going to pay for that and I wouldn't let my son read sexist nonsense like that.

Men's Health fell in my lap by accident... Somehow I received a free subscription, although, to this day, I'm not sure how. But it arrived in my mailbox, so I continue to read it.

I never thought I was going to be interested in this magazine, because I am in no way a "health nut".  Yet, I find the magazine pleasurable as a man.  There are interesting tidbits, good stories, and good stuff, in general.

I've read about 5 issues at this point, and I continue to enjoy it.  It is like most magazines, full of advertisements, and some stuff not worth reading... but that's pretty much any magazine. ...

A wide variety of articles on nutrition, dieting, exercise.  I used to be a subscriber but I let it lapse.  I picked up the current copy at the newstand and decided to start another subscription.  i am especially interested in articles for men over 50 years old, pro's and con's of carbohydrate watching, and body sculpting.  I would like to see more articles on team sports; especially senior team sports such as basketball and softball.  I read several good articles on nutritional supplements; especially on supplements that target specific health issues such as memory and joint pain.

I enjoy reading. It just so happens to be one of my favorite passtimes-especially when the information being obtained is beneficial to ones health. I thoroughly enjoy Men's Health for the sheer fact that you can learn how to change your diet and exercise routine in a such a way that life improves. Knowing that men and women are not created equal should also entice fellow men to pick up a copy to learn how they can face the issues confronting other men. Good Nutrition seems to impact every facet of life-including sex. We all want to better ourselves so pick up a copy and see what youre missing out... review »

I found this magazine to be more fluff than substance.   I was looking for articles and advice geared to "everyday" people, but it seemed more focused on those who were already healthy and buff.   There are a lot of advertisements in this magazine, which detract from the few good articles I was able to find and somewhat identify with when reading it.   All in all, I guess if you are already in shape, it could be a good magazine for you.  Otherwise, in my opinion, it's a waste of time.

This magizine is full of adds.  They also like to have sections on how to dress, which is just a big add by the makers of the clothing.  Also the clothing is outrageously priced.  I can find similar clothing at a fraction of what Mens Health advertises.  I would not recommend this magazine to anyone unless you want to wast your time flipping through all of the adds to get to the few articles that are in the magazine.

Men's Health is a good magazine overall, but it can get repetitive. As a long-time subscriber I have found that they do a lot of the same articles over and over again. Granted, these articles are well-written, but I think they need more variety to their article topics.

Good layout, nutrition tips. I also like Male Grams which gives all these stats about the average guy.

There is way too much about abs and not enough about life. This magazine talks too much about the body and sexual dysfunctions. There is nothing about parenting, children, marriage, or hobbies.  There is other things to think about than how you look in low rise jeans and if you can keep your tallywacker hard.  I would like a magazine to talk more about life.

I have been reading Men's Health for approx 5 years now, and have been very satisfied to this point.I enjoy the health and nutrition tips more than anything and this has plenty.

The only real issue I have are all of the subscription inserts, and too many advertisments.Other than that, a great read.

I will continue to be an avid reader.

all ads, no real writing, if i were in my early 20's this would be a good pick but for those of us with families and jobs we cant spend hours a day planning diets, working out 3 hours a day and so forth, what i;m saying is this, the writing was childish and the food/workout sections were for people who had a lot more time on their hands than i do.

Was subscriber for 1 year and found it to be very focused on the "six-pack" abs. I currently pick it up and the newstand once or twice a year and am satisfied that I am not missing much. There are a few good regular columns - but they are not worth the subscription.

Men's Health covers all the topics men are interested in, from sex to dating to sports to clothing to electronics, and more. Lots of photos and an entertaining approach make this magazine well worth reading every month.
