i will never use regular detergent ever again!!

these work so amazingly great. i will never use regular detergent ever ever again. i am so satisfied with this product. these are such a mild soap that they work great for cloth diapers. they are great for people who have sensitive skin, eczema, allergies, and psoriasis. my son has eczema and has not had an outbreak since we started using these amazing nuts. they dont get all soapy like regular soap so dont worry if you dont see bubbles. they are berries that grow so you dont have to worrry about anything else being added to them. i noticed my towels were fluffier after using these. and i also love that the have no scent. i dont love smelling all the chemicals on my clothes after they are washed with regular detergent. if you are reading this, you definitely need to go and get some of these. they will save you money because you only need about 4 or 5 nuts per load and they can be reused for up to 10 loads. i would not trust any other soap for washing my familys laundry.

OMG! Best natural product on the market!

These soap nuts are the best thing since sliced bread. They are environmentally friendly (grown on trees) and contain no harmful chemicals. Their scent is light, fruity and not over powering. You use them directly in your washer if your load is with hot or warm water, and if you prefer to wash with cold, then you can make a liquid soap out of them. They can also be used in the house other than washing clothes. If you make up the liquid soap out of them, then you can use it in your dish washer or when hand washing. VERY versatile product! Performance My clothes get just as clean, if not cleaner, using soap nuts than using conventional, toxic detergents sold in the supermarkets. I feel a whole lot better using this product on my clothes, that touch my skin, than anything else in the world. Scent There is no ADDED scent. The soap nuts themselves smell fruity or citrus-y. They're light in scent and barely leave any scent on your clothes. For someone chemically sensitive, soap nuts are ideal.

Who knew laundry soap grew on trees?

My one child is allergic to most brands of laundry detergent and I was getting desperate. I must have tried every brand in the store. I had heard about soap nuts and decided to give them a try. What did I have to lose? They work great. Not only is my son not allergic to his clothes anymore, but his clothes are also clean. The soap nuts clean normal dirt and grime without a problem. An added benefit is that they are environmentally friendly. It is wild harvested with no chemicals or preservatives. Soap nuts are actually the dried fruit of the Soapberry tree. The magic ingredient is saponin, something that's been used for ages in Asia as a laundry soap. You can simply put a few nuts in a cotton sack (included) or you can make a liquid 'tea' with them. I just put mine in the sack. I do soak them first, to soften them. You don't have to, but if you don't I would recommend using very warm water with your first load. I get about four to five loads per set of nuts (about 4-5 nuts). I buy mine on Amazon. The kilo size says that it is enough for 200-400 loads of laundry. I have found that I get much closer to 400.

Bought for my cloth diapers . . . now I use to wash everything!

I purchased these through a coop to wash our cloth diapers. They keep buildup at bay and I love how scent-free they are. It does take a bit of getting used to in order to find the right combination for your water and washing machine and wash routine. I found that boiling once a week to make soap nut concentrate, which you can use for cold water washing, was best for us. Not only can I save money by washing in cold instead of hot (you normally have to wash soap nuts in hot to release the soap), but you don't get little pieces of soap nut in your wash this way. it works fall better for my day-to-day life. In fact, these were so awesome with our cloth diapers that I started using them on our daughter's clothes. Her ezema nearly healed itself (we do still use coconut oil every few days to keep it at bay but we don't have to use it multiple times a day any longer). I then started using it on everything. Our clothes, towels, sheets, etc. We haven't looked back and now I'm starting my own coop to help share the love. I wish I could buy stock in these. They are just that awesome. My dad goes to India several times a year and he is brining a bunch back for me next time he goes because thye are so much cheaper there!

Maggie's Soap Nuts - NO MORE WATER LAUNDRY POLLUTION

5

I live in Great Neck too, and I read the review here, and decided to try Maggie's Soap Nuts as a green alternative to soaps and detergents.  I was happily surprised to discover that they work very nicely, and there are so many good reasons to use them instead of clogging wastewater with soap and other worse chemicals. Truly a natural cleaner - the soapberries grow on trees, and they are dried and to use them you throw them into a little cloth bag (3-5 of them) and used INSTEAD OF DETERGENT> They are naturally saponic (soapy) and soften the water too.  Of course, I still use Oxy and Shout and whatever other spot cleaners appeal to me at the moment (I am the "Mrs. Stain" of the family and can get out pretty much any stain with a little effort), but I am very satisfied with soap nuts, or soapberries, for basic clothing washing. AMAZING!!  Finally a totally natural soap for those of us who want to stop polluting our ground water with chemicals
