We purchase this often for our puppy to mix with his kibble in order to make him more likely to eat it. While the price was a little steep, I looked at the ingredients and saw that for the most part they were pretty wholesome and I wanted to try something chicken based for what we mix with the puppy's hard food. It mixed well, he seems to like it. I am not sure completely about the taste, because I didn't taste it. But I can speak volumes to how quickly he liked it and how quickly he ate it. It didn't have a bad smell, and the consistency is pretty good. Not too thick, kind of like a stew with big chunks. The only big drawback to buying this Iams puppy food is the price. If you are on a strict budget or don't like paying too much for your dog food, this may not be the right one for you. Although- if you don't mind paying a little extra for the food you feed your dog, this is a great one to try with your puppies. I would recommend for new puppy parents.
