The Hoover Windtunnel Supreme Bagged Upright Vacuum is an AWESOME vacuum! It cleans VERY well at a fraction of the price of a good quality vacuum on the market these days. The DEFINITE pluses include the embedded dirt finder and the onboard attachments. Though I am in love with this vacuum because of its cleaning capabilities and the convenience of the onboard attachments, it certainly has its flaws. The vacuum is heavy, a tad on the noisy side, and sometimes trips the circuit breaker. When I have the hose stretched out while using the attachments, the heaviness of the vacuum causes it to tip over. When the vacuum tips, it usually either hits me or nearby furniture. Ouch! While I appreciate the GREAT suction/cleaning power of this vacuum, caution must be exercised so that nearby cords, fabric, etc. don't get accidently 'sucked' underneath/into the vacuum. Regarding issues not related to the vacuum itself, I sadly can no longer find original Hoover parts anywhere! Also, all the local Hoover stores have been closed. Years ago when I entered the Hoover store on a whim, I was not even in the market for a vacuum. But, was sold on this particular model because of the Hoover salesperson's one-on-one thorough and knowledgeable presentation and demo. Unfortunately, access to such service is a thing of the past regarding the Hoover line of vacuums.

My father gave this to me as a mother's day present because my old vacuum was doing a sub-par job at cleaning my house. The first time I vacuumed my apartment, the difference was amazing. The carpet was fluffy. I didn't know carpet could get that fluffy! That just shows me how much dust and grime was in my carpet, and having a small child, that disgusted me. I feel happy now knowing that each week, as I vacuum my apartment, I am ridding it of an enormous amount of dust. I really like how it has two modes - hard wood and carpet. It also allows you to select the height of your carpet. That last feature is unparalleled in my opinion. The one thing that I do not like is that to switch from carpet to hardwood, you have to turn off the vacuum, stand it upright and then switch it. I guess it doesn't take a ton of time, but when you have a fussy toddler, any second is very valuable! I also really like that the vacuum tells you if an area is especially dirty. If the red light goes on, that means you need to spend more time than usual on that specific area. It also has a bag indicator to let you know when it needs to be changed. My previous vacuum did not, and I was constantly changing the bag when it was not actually full. The bag lasts awhile too.
