I purchased this Holmes compact heater to use in my small home office, and I thought that since it was up to 1500 watts that it would be powerful enough, but I've found it to be pretty ineffective at heating up the room. The fan on it is REALLY loud, but it doesn't circulate the warm air very well, even on the high heat setting. It ended up back in the box, and I use my micathermic heater instead, which is both silent and much better at warming my rooms.
