The Glow Worm has big welcoming eyes that really draw a child's attention. On top of that its face lights up and it plays short but sweet lullabys. We received our first Glow Worm a few years ago for our first child. He grew up with the Glow Worm and would call it his baby. He even would try to diaper his baby. Our second child is now fascinated by the Glow Worm and is quickly turning it into HER baby.

My daughter received the Playskool Lullaby Glow Worm as a gift to help her sleep because of the light and the lullabies. We noticed immediately that the lullabies - although wonderfully soothing - are only about 15 seconds long. I thought it may have been a setting, but when I opened the back, it was on the correct setting. Once my daughter found out how to turn on the glow worm herself, she would push the tummy to turn on the light and songs, and then have to turn it on again a short while later. This she would have to keep doing to have consistent lullabies and a night light during bed and nap time. She does enjoy playing with this toy but has since given up turning it on when she is trying to go to sleep. We have instead purchased the Seahorse which plays lullabies much longer. All in all, it is a nice, soft toy that my daughter does have fun with since she enjoys the reward of pushing the tummy and hearing the songs, and since it turns off so quickly she gets to push it over and over again. Because of this, I see this as more of a play toy instead of a bedtime toy.

our glow worm has saved our sleep, my daughter uses hers as a night light and plays the music to soothe herself back to sleep. It has proven to be very durable as my daughter has dropped and stepped on it. it is also very easy to spot clean. The music is soothing and the soft light from the face is perfect. I don't know what we would have ever done without this miracle doll!

I bougth my daughter this pink little glow worm when she was a newborn. I used it as a night light so when she would go to bed it gave her a little time to let her eyes adjust to the dark.  I will say though that the batteries didn't last long at all.  Once the batteries get low only the light will come on, which was fine with me because that was the only reason I purchased it.  Apparently many people like it though as my daughter turns 1 this week, she was given the same toy for her birthday today.  I know of several people that have the same toy, it is nice that it comes in both boy and girl colors.  So it is not just a little girl toy.  I have purchased the little blue one for a baby gift in the past.  Glow worms have been around for quite some time now. I remember having one as a kid, and I loved it.  I love when they come back out with toys that I had as a kid. Glow worms, Rainbow bright, etc.

OK, so the Glow worm isn't really my best friend but I am definitely thankful for it!  As another person stated in their review, this worm helps to put children at ease during bedtime and can ward off that night time screaming ritual.  I have had the screaming issue at bedtime with my son but then we received this awesome toy!  Our night time ritual literally improved over night.  We would put our son in his crib, push the button, and he would sit and listen to the music.  Soon enough he had learned to push the button himself.  We would wake up in the middle of the night to the sounds of the glow worm over the monitor.  My son had learned how to put himself back to sleep with the help of this toy!  Now, the glow worm does have a down side... the music only plays for about a minute before the button needs to be pushed again.  But other than that, we are very happy with it!  We have had to wash it a couple of times due to my son getting sick on it but it  has come out of the wash just fine.  This is a great toy for little ones - birth to ?....I know people that still have theirs from the 80s!

My six month old son loves his playskool glow worm! We just got it for him for Christmas twenty ten and he loves it! He doesn't really know how to turn it on yet but thats natural he's only six months! I think it's absoulutey adorable! I love it. It plays a few songs and lights up for a good whiie. He loves it, even though he has his own bed, he's been sleeping with us for the past month. He just started doing that one night so i hope this helps him to start sleeping in his own bed soon! I started him sleeping with it now while he sleeps with me and i guess i'll put him in his bed after he falls asleep with it one night and see how this works because he loves it! Even my two year old plays with it, he likes the music! I am definitly going to contiure buying these  and i recommend these, take my word,your child won't be disappointed! It sells for a good price.My son is playing with his right now as i typing! I love it! awwwww.

When we first got the hasbro lullaby glow worm my daughter had just been born and so it wasn't one of the toys we regularly reached for. Fast forward a year and bed time has become battle time. My daughter hates going to bed she screams her little head off! Some nights she would get so upset she would throw up. We have tried night lights and music CDs and soothing sounds CDs. We tried no light and no sound. Seriously nothing was working and every night was awful. On a whim one night when she was about 14 months old my husband put the glow worm in her crib with her. I noticed that she went to bed no issues and I thought it was a fluke or maybe she was really really tired. The next night I put her down expecting world war 3 and instead she picks up the glow worm and pushes the little button and starts to do a wiggley dance. She loves that darn thing and loves to push the button and make it play music! Every night she goes to bed just fine. In fact the other night I took her in her room and was telling her good night and she started *reaching* for her bed to get to that worm!!! I am now in love with the glow worm.

A friend purchased the Hasbro Playskool Glow Worm for my daughter when she was an infant. She enjoyed it from day one, though she was not strong enough to squeeze it to turn on the until she was older than one.  I have also enjoyed the toy but I would like for the music to have an on/off switch for more control. When you squeeze the Glow Worm to light it up and start the music, it plays through one short song and then shuts off. Since I was using the Glow Worm for comfort at night for my daughter (as it is advertised), it seemed pretty useless since it would not continue playing music. Besides this complaint, I do like the same size of the toy so that is easy for a little one to cuddle with. I also like the plastic face for easy cleaning and the various melodies it plays. Overall, I would recommend the Glow Worm....we had them as kids and it's a fun toy to share with our children. Don't expect too much out of it but for the price, it's worth it.
