I recieved this toast oven as a gift and decided to try it even though I was perfectly happy with the B & D I already had. I was thoroughly not happy with it. It seems cheaply made and even toast was a disappointment--burned at a medium setting. Not only that it was unevenly burned--so much for consistency. In fairness, I did try it at a lower setting but had similar results. Undaunted, I used it to bake a pre-cooked portion of fish. Mushy--at the reccomended setting. I decided not to try to correct that. I was very unhappy with this toaster though I certainly didn't tell the gifter. With a great deal of guilt, I donated it to the local Salvation Army but said a little prayer for whomever might decide to take it home.

Anyone would agree that you do not want to heat up the whole house when all you do is sit in one room. This works with the same idea - why would you want to heat up the big oven when all you want to do is heat up a meal for yourself or cook something quick? The Hamilton Beach 31989 Toaster Oven is compact and heats up your food great. They have many settings for baking, toasting, bagels, pizza etc, and they have included a timer for those who start and forget (that would be me!). We have made many things using this sturdy oven - homemade pies, cakes, fudge brownies and also used it to heat up meals for the family. It is very efficient and a good return for the value. One thing i woud like to add is it is good for making food for 1-2 people and not more. It is not a big oven to heat everything up for the family;  Hamilton Beach has other variants of this toaster oven for those purposes. All in all, definitely needed for us when you want to heat things quick without using the main oven and wasting your money !

I absolutely hate having to wait a long time to cook a small individual meal in my oven. It is so time consuming. Well at least it was until I found the Hamilton Beach 31989 Toaster Oven. You can create virtually any meal, even your favorite meals, in just minutes compared to a regular oven. In this toaster oven you can toast up to six pieces of bread at one time. My family loves pizza. It is definitely one of our favorites. In a regular oven a pizza could take about twenty minutes, but with the Hamilton Beach Toaster Oven you can cook a twelve inch pizza in under ten minutes. You can even use your oven to broil. It is great for toast, bagels, pizzas, potatoes, and everything in between. One of the best features is the automatic shut off button. So you can put on the timer, leave the house and the oven will shut off automatically. Best of all for us busy parents, there is an easy removable crumb tray for extra easy cleanup.

The hamilton Beach 31989 Toaster Oven is a great small oven. I purchased mine so that I won't have to cut on the big oven.I like the panel that lets you chose weither you want to bake, toast, bagel, pizza, potato, buttons. It also has has a timer on it. I like that I don't have to adjust the time on my recipes. It take the same amount of time that it does in a big oven. I have cooked cakes, homemade pizzas, brownies and even casseroles. I do cover my casseroles with foil so the tops don't get crispy. The halilton Beach toaster oven is also easy to clean. It has a put out tray that pulls out easily and I cover mine in foil for even more of a easy clean up. The glass front door is the only thing that is a little hard to clean but I have found the magic eraser cleans it up really well. I have purchased two more for birthday gifts for my adult kids since that keep saying that they would like to have one of these ovens.
