Great choices, great meals for little ones.

5

These Gerber Lil Entrees have been around for awhile, and since I both have a child and have worked with children for quite some time I have lots of experience with them. I have to say, out of all the toddler friendly "tv dinner" style meals that are available for purchase these are by far the best in my book. They have a ton of different choices that are foods that appeal to toddlers. Not only that they are much healthier than some of the other options. I have tasted them myself as well, and they actually taste like the food that they are supposed to be, not only that but I can actually identify everything in them. Yes they are going to be a little more expensive, but isn't your little ones health worth a little extra money. I definitely recommend these meals to parents or those who work with kids. Be warned that these are good for kids who are feeding themselves and can chew, not younger than that.

Taste it yourself and you'll see why tod

Such a great idea, but flat nasty tasting! My 15 MO old Grandson, very hungry at the time ate 2 bites then shuddered & turned his head refusing anymore! So I took a bite and felt like the worst Nana ever for feeding him such! Who could turn a healthy thing like peas & carrots to taste like out of a can & boiled for 3 or 4 days! Just plain awful. Thinking the concept so great decided to try a different favor! Equally nasty so returned it to grocery for refund and never again under any circumstances will this be purchased or served in my house! Shame on you Gerber, this could be a winner if you had anything approaching taste testing and quality control It's not your baby being difficult, they are rightly refusing nasty bad food! Advised my DIL to never ever b uy too!

My Toddlers Won't Eat Them!

4

I am always encouraging healthy foods to my children and my youngest could live on peas and carrots but when I give Gerber Graduates Lil Entrees to my toddlers they won't eat any of it. I purchased a variety of flavors for my girls to try. One after one, day after day my girls would turn them down. I wondered why and tried a tray for myself and was surprised at how soft the green beans are and other foods that are included in the little blue trays. The only Gerber Graduate Lil Entree I have successfully fed my girls has oatmeal in it, and the small bowls of mushy fruit. I felt like these entrees were solving a problem with convenience but I had another problem wasting money on these trays. If I would've started off feeding these to my girls way early on they may would have took to them but I introduced tastier foods and they won't take to these entrees. Quality of Ingredients I feel Gerber always provided quality ingredients in the foods I buy.

Lil' Entrees are the perfect punishment for toddlers

2

I would rate Gerber Graduates Lil' Entrees a perfect 10 if they were called Gerber Graduates Lil' Torture Devices. My kids all absolutely abhor them. It's easy to see why too. The texture and flavors are all horrifying. They were on sale at my local grocery store so I cluelessly stocked up on all the different flavors under the false pretense that the kids would have a variety of yummy meal options to choose from when were on the go or having a busy day. A special treat, right? Wrong! These starchy gloppy nightmares are the worst form of punishment you could possibly force on a child. My two-year-old cried when he thought he was having one for lunch. And this is the same kid that forces us to lock up our trash cans because he eats garbage! So unless you're running some kind of toddler Guantamano Bay (In which case, Lil' Entrees could easily replace water boarding), do your child a favor and take an extra couple minutes to boil real pasta and nuke some veggies. I still keep these in the pantry though. The kiddos behave remarkably well with such a powerful threat lingering in the kitchen. For that purpose alone, I commend Gerber for developing such a successful blackmailing tool. Well played Gerber. Well played indeed.

Gerber Graduates Lil' Entrees with too many GMOs

1

I was very disappointed when reading the ingredients on the Gerber Graduates Lil' Entrees. I purchased these for my son, and he really liked the taste of most of the varieties and seemed to enjoy them. They are a little expensive, and for that reason I prefer to just get my toddlers to eat what we are eating. When my daughter was born, I became a lot more health conscious about the ingredients that were in her baby food. When I looked at these again in the store, I was shocked at how much sugar, how many calories, and how many unnatural ingredients these Gerber Graduates Lil' Entrees have in them. I really wish that Gerber would make their products as natural as they can for babies. They do have an organic line, but I think it would say a lot to the food community if Gerber would take out of their baby food items these harmful chemical ingredients. I would not recommend anyone purchase these for their children. Please read the labels!

Gerber Graduates Lil Entrees

Although I was very impressed with other foods in the Gerber graduates line of food products I somewhat disliked the Gerber Graduates Lil Entrees. One of my main concerns is the healthfulness of these entrees. They don't seem very healthy especially because it seems they encourage eating TV dinners and I like to serve my son more natural and less processed foods. Shelf stable pasta entrees are very processed. My son also disliked the taste of every Gerber Graduates lil entree that he tried. He would take a few bites and not want to eat anymore. He's usually a very healthy eater so I was surprised he didn't like these at all. I don't think the food combinations they offer appeal to small kids very much. This product does have a few positive things worth mentioning. They're convenient to use and heat quickly and thoroughly in the microwave. Overall, I would only give Gerber Graduates lil entrees 6 out of 10 stars. I would more recommend this for a healthier convenience meal option over fast food.

Not a great choice for my toddler

2

My toddler is a relatively pick eater. He has a very strong gag reflex and is takes him several tries before he will start eating a new food. I thought Gerber Graduates Lil' Entrees would be a healthy choice for my toddler. The picture on the front of the package looks very appealing and it appears that the meal would be something that he would like. I purchased a couple of these entrees at my local grocery store and was surprised how expensive they were even with a sale and a coupon. I calculated the per meal cost and it was far higher than what it would have cost me to make a similar meal from scratch. When we got home from the grocery store, I decided to feed my son one of these entrees for lunch. I followed the heating instructions on the package and found that the food heated unevenly. There were sections that were significantly colder than other sections in the entree. My toddler likes to feed himself and seemed excited about the contents of the entree. However, he took one bite and pushed the food away. He was not impressed with this product. I tried it as well, and I find that I 100% agree with his preferences. The food did not taste good at all.

No, Just No!

When I first bought these I thought they would be great for my child, I thought they would be getting a delicious healthy meal that they would thoroughly enjoy but I was really wrong, have you ever tried one of these things? Well, don't! Quality of Ingredients I guess it depends on what you're talking about, do I think that these meals have adequate nutrition for your children, possibly, but if you're asking me if I think that this "food" should be consumed by humans, my answer would be absolutely not. This stuff is disgusting, it has almost no flavor but the flavor it does have is so bad. The first time I gave one of these meals to my child, they refused to eat it past the first bite they tried so I decided to give it a taste and I certainly regretted that decision right away. Gerber should just stick to formula, infant food, and snacks. Safety This food is really safe for your child, as long as you check the age level and always supervise your child when they are eating but, when you do that I really do trust these meals for that. They are very safe for your child.

Good combo

With my first child, there was nothing like these on the market. So after having my 2nd child, I had to at least try these. When my 2nd child was young, but just starting to eat chunkier baby food, I gave this a try. I bought a bunch of different ones, all of which have a main course and one side like a vegetable. I was pleasantly surprised for the most part. My child was a spitty baby and when starting baby food, had some problems with digestion still. I noticed he never spit these meals up. He was always full after eating them and they save well to be heated up again in a few hours. Quality of Ingredients The only downside I saw with the quality of the ingredients was it tended to be a bit slimy. The noodle meals seemed very gooey. Looking back, I do believe it helped to go down easier and prevent a choking hazard, so I can see why maybe it was. Although I am not sure why, but they were all somewhat slimy. Safety I never had any issues with these meals but I also had to prevent them by making some of the vegetables for instance, a bit smaller in size. I am not sure why they weren't a bit smaller but they were easy to cut down and they were soft enough to probably not worry.
