Great for acne flare ups.

By

from USA

Comments about DESERT ESSENCE Facial Cleansing Pads Tea Tree Oil 50 Pads:

I am in my thirties and have had to deal with a fair amount of hormonal adult acne since having my second child. The Tea Tree Oil Pads by Dessert Essence are great for use before bed. As you probably know, Tea Tree Oil is a great natural antiseptic, and is the only product I use when I have breakouts. It just works. The difference is visible by morning.

The Tea Tree Oil Pads just simplify the application of tea tree oil, which can get a bit messy. Just swipe the pad on inflamed areas and you're set.

Effectiveness
I give this a 9 because, while it works very well on inflamed areas, you want to be careful with application. It can be quite drying to areas of your skin that are not inflamed.

Ease of Application
Just grab a pad, swipe it on, and toss it out. Be gentle - the pads do have a little bit of texture to them and can be rough on sensitive areas.

Scent
The scent is pretty rough. It makes my eyes water and definitely takes some getting used to.

Great cleaning agent!

Comments about DESERT ESSENCE Facial Cleansing Pads Tea Tree Oil 50 Pads:

In trying to remove as many chemicals as I can from my beauty routine, I came across Desert Essence's line of tea tree oil products. I have tried pretty much everything I could find from this company and this line and I have enjoyed using every product. Desert Essence's Tea Tree Oil Facial Cleansing Pads are a great way to quickly clean my face or use in place of a toner or astringent to make sure I have every bit of makeup removed. I love these things!

When first opening the cleansing pad holder, the scent is quite strong. I use pure tea tree oil for numerous applications so I wasn't surprised by the scent, but I do caution anyone who hasn't used this product yet that you should be aware that these pads have a strong scent. I love the scent because it is so clean and seems more organic and natural than the strong alcohol-based scents of most astringents and toners. I continue to use this product and love it. There is no way I would go back to traditional astringents!

Desert Essence Facial Cleansing Pads are great for clearing acne

By

from Manchester, NH

Comments about DESERT ESSENCE Facial Cleansing Pads Tea Tree Oil 50 Pads:

I use these in combination with their liquid facial cleanser.  What these are good for is making your skin smooth and clean.  It is always best to use some sort of facial scrub a couple of times a week and these facial pads offer that ability.  I use the liquid facial cleanser twice daily and then use the cleansing pads a couple times a week.  They are also easy and convenient when you just want to clean your face quickly and go, in place of the liquid facial cleanser.  If you are looking for something to clear up your acne and resurface your skin after bad breakouts, these really are great and you may want to use more often than I do for the first couple of weeks to get rid of flakes from clearing acne.

The smell is strong, but I really don't care since they work so wonderfully.  I also don't get any comments regarding the smell throughout the day, so I think it really is only strong when actually cleaning your face, not after.

I really do recommend these for a less abrasive and more natural cleanser.  The cost is reasonable for you to try out and see if you like it.

Very nice, strong scrubbing power, lots of alcohol content

By

Comments about DESERT ESSENCE Facial Cleansing Pads Tea Tree Oil 50 Pads:

I read the reviews and thought it would be a great product. I'm using a Rx acne product and can't use Benzoyl Peroxide based products I opened these up and wow the smell of alcohol (from witch hazel?) is OVERWHELMING. I guess I didn't read enough about it. It works ok, it is drying of course. The best part, the reason I got them, was for the scrubbing pads. You can't just buy those buy themselves easily. I wanted something all natural AND I got a great deal at a natural store. Will keep using, but have to RUN UNDER WATER several times. Then I rinse off my face too. Haven't noticed a reaction thus far. The scrubbers can be a little too harsh. Might have been nice if one side had been soft and one the current side (more expenisve I know). But it is pretty nice overall. THe Rx does a lot to my skin so it is kind of hard to tell EXACTLY what it is doing but I think it does some toning and such with the few extra extracts. I have tried using natural products for my skin conditions but *sigh* they did not help.

Tea Tree Oil - soothing and cleansing

By

from Durand, WI

Comments about DESERT ESSENCE Facial Cleansing Pads Tea Tree Oil 50 Pads:

I have read that tea tree oil is great for calming skin - especially if you're in the middle of a breakout stage or have irriated it with too much sun or too much scrubbing.  I found this product online and decided to give it a try.  When the shipping was added in, I spent way too much, but I have been unable to find this product locally.

I usually use these pads when I come home from work looking all greasy, then I just apply some loose powder to freshen up a little.  Before bed, I wash my face and then use these pads again - you would not believe how much brown crap comes off your face even after you have washed it.

I like the natural smell of the face pads, I do not like how scratchy they feel against my skin - I suppose that helps exfoliate and clean but it is definately not a soothing feeling.  The tea tree oil on the pad is very gentile and does not irritate my skin.  I never scrub with these pads, merely wipe off the excess gung and oil.  If I could find them locally I would continue to buy, as long as I have to pay shipping they are too rich for my blood.
