Good all-around

By

from Utah

Comments about Colgate Cavity Prevention Toothpaste:

We typically look for reliable toothpastes that are on sale or the best deal. So we end up using several different kinds, but Colgate cavity prevention toothpaste is one of the ones that we use the most. Even when it is not on sale, the 8.2 ounce tubes usually provide the best value for the money (especially if we find them in a package set of two or three tubes). These larger tubes last quite a long time, and even when they are almost empty, they are still pretty easy to squeeze out the last bit that is left in the tube. They seem to do a good job of helping prevent cavities as well. We use a combination of mouth washing and tooth brushing to prevent cavities, so it's hard to say that this is the only thing helping. But it does do a good job of fighting plaque buildup, and we rarely get cavities. The one downside is that it does not always do a good job of killing morning breath or coffee breath. It can give a good, pleasant smell to the breathe in most cases, but if your breathe already smells pretty bad to start with, then you need something else to help other than this.

Great, cheap, effective toothpaste!

By

from USA

Comments about Colgate Cavity Prevention Toothpaste:

I had used whitening toothpaste until my teeth got sensitive to cold and warm, which was caused by the whitening toothpaste. After using Sensodyne for about a year to get my teeth back to normal, I started using the cheapest general toothpaste I could find. I ended up getting Colgate Cavity Prevention toothpaste for free by using a coupon which doubled at my local store. How could I go wrong? Well, it is the only toothpaste that I use now. I have used it for the past several years and I love it! It cleans my teeth great with just a small pea-sized amount. The taste is refreshing, but not overwhelming. There is no whitening in it to cause sensitivity in my teeth. And it's super cheap, even without coupons, but there are usually coupons in the paper for Colgate. It is readily available at most stores as well, which is convenient. Plain, simple, effective, and cheap...does the job great!

Best tasting toothpaste, very effective

By

from USA

Comments about Colgate Cavity Prevention Toothpaste:

Colgate Cavity Prevention Toothpaste is the best tasting and most effective toothpaste I have ever used. Whenever I ask my dentist which of the innumerable brands and types of toothpaste I and my children should be buying he tells me to use this simple, basic, cavity protection formula. This is fortunate, since my kids love the candy-cane like peppermint taste. We do not have fluoridated water, and nevertheless my children have not had dental caries for several years. As this is the only toothpaste we use, it obviously must be doing a good job. I like that this formula also leaves no medicine or chemical aftertaste and rinses quickly. I happen to have sensitive teeth and a few spots where enamel is degraded, but this toothpaste does not bother me. I would also point out that of all the many toothpaste brands to choose from, Colgate Cavity Prevention is among the least expensive.

A good toothpaste without the unneccessary additives

By

from USA

Comments about Colgate Cavity Prevention Toothpaste:

I found that the low cost (.97) for the 2.8 oz. size of Colgate Cavity Prevention Toothpaste is just what I need for healthy dental hygiene, at a fraction of what I would pay for other brands that advertise whitening qualities, special flavor or enhanced protection. In my experience of doing clinical research studies I have found that other brands including Colgate, that sell at a higher price are non-allowable items when checking-in to research facilities. For this reason I would always choose Colgate Cavity Prevention Fluoride Toothpaste because it contains none of the extra ingredients such as whitening, special flavors or total protection enhancements that subjects are prevented from using in-house. It's just another reason for buying a no-nonsense, low-cost product free from gimmicky advertisements non-essential to dental hygiene. Approved by the American Dental Association, if it contains fluoride and doesn't taste bad, why pay for anything else.

Great inexpensive item

By

from Miami, FL

Comments about Colgate Cavity Prevention Toothpaste:

Great items that leaves the mouth feeling clean it also has a great mint flavor.I normally also use disinfecting mouthwash, but I notice that this product is effective and great for the price.I found that it is a well balanced and labelled product that does what it says. The size is convenientand the container design is up to date with other toothpastes of its kind.Particularly like the cap that one cannot loose like with the older toothpastes and caps.It comes out of tube in a homogeneus consistant manner and does not dry out easily. It has a consistant color and constiuency. The cleaning of the teeth surfaces is done efficiently, like the overall package design, consistant with colgates tradition of many years.

Colgate Cavity Prevention Toothpaste-A Great Toothpaste!

By

from Grand Rapids, MI

Comments about Colgate Cavity Prevention Toothpaste:

I bought this toothpaste on the recommendation of my dentist and hygenist. I really like it. It's just that basic toothpaste that I remember growing up with. The dentist and hygenist recommended this as they said the toothpastes with the whiteners and fresheners are too irritating and harsh to the gums and mouth tissues. This toothpaste has worked well for me and my husband, who has sensitive gums. My husband also has been without cavities for over a year which is a first for him in over 6 years! I will see what my next dentist appointment shows!

I like the gentle mint taste of this toothpaste is not too strong or harsh. The flavor doesn't last too long, but that's fine with us. Besides that, I don't have anything negative to say about this toothpaste. Highly recommend.

My number one toothpaste

By

from Watertown, NY

Comments about Colgate Cavity Prevention Toothpaste:

I love, love, love this toothpaste. This has been my main go to toothpaste since I can remember. I am very particular about what goes in my mouth and I have even taken this toothpaste to the dentist for my cleaning. I cannot stand certain textures such as gritty or thick which I have found many other toothpastes to be. This toothpaste is smooth and delightful to brush with. It foams up perfectly and leaves no gritty residue or slimly residue after you rinse. It also tastes delicious. It is delightfully minty and fresh feeling. I can have confidence that my breath is fresh and clean smelling unlike some toothpastes that leave a foul after taste and drab smell after you brush. It does not have all of the bells and whistles that you can get in other toothpastes these days but as a basic it is great. I would definitely recommend this product as a basic everyday toothpaste for someone who just wants something to do the basics.

Prevent Cavities

By

from Bellmore, NY

Comments about Colgate Cavity Prevention Toothpaste:

I must say that colgate has been around a very long time as I recall using it years ago when I was a child and now that I am a parent it is the only no nonsense toothpaste I would recommend to anyone who asked for which one to use.  Yes some have different flavors and tastes but to me the original is still the best and they have to be doing something right if they are adding new styles and types and keeping the original.  Plus if it can help prevent me from a dentist visit then I am even more for it.  It is not always easy to find the time but if you brush in the morning and at night before you go to bed you are avoiding the chances of getting more problems with your teeth and especially getting cavities so it is an easy routine to follow when you wash your face in the morning and again at night be sure to include this in your routine and you will be happy the next time you visit the dentist as when he says no new cavities it makes it all worthwhile.

Colgate does as expected

By

from Raleigh, NC

Comments about Colgate Cavity Prevention Toothpaste:

I am using colgate cavity protection, and it does a good job. It always makes me teeth feel really clean and smooth. Colgate cavity protection has a nice minty smell from, which is just what I would want and expect from toothpaste. This is a simple toothpaste. The only thing added to it is fluoride to strengthen your teeth. It would be nice if it had some sort of whitening agent, as I would really like for my teeth to be whiter. However, I do not like most whitening toothpastes as they typically taste and feel gross and disgusting. This toothpaste has no gross aftertaste, and it is not really strong at all. Like with most toothpastes though, I wouldn't recommend eating or drinking for 15-20 minutes after though, because otherwise that combination of mint and food would not be tasting good. Other than that, it is a good basic toothpaste. I have absolutely no problems recommending this to anybody.
