Used a Kodak 5 megapixel for 5 years until it died. Replaced it with the Canon SX100 after weeks of research. It is easy to use though I have yet to try all it's features. So easy to use that my 4 year old grandson can take really great photos.
The stabilization has reduced having blurry pictures. The 10x zoom is fantastic letting me take pictures of objects from my deck down to my back fence or take a picture of a butterfly up close. Another feature is being able to take one picture after another, until your memory card is full, when placed on multiple shots.
I was looking for a camera that would take good photos inside in rooms where there is very little sunlight. This one does somewhat better than my Kodak did and once I learn how to make adjustments which can be done manually I may be able to remedy the light situation. Some people may not like that you have to lift the flash manually but it reminds you to do so and so far has not been a problem. Some reviews said it ate batteries but I keep a set recharged at all times. It is not any worse than my other camera. I change them once a week or less and I take picrures and/or videos just about every day.
Great camera for the money.
