The first time I used CLR Calcium Lime Rust Remover was many years ago when I lived in an apartment that had rusty water.  The inside of the dishwasher would get stained with rusty blotches and I was at a loss as to how to get it clean.  Someone recommended running a dishwasher cycle with CLR in the detergent compartment.  I did so, and was thrilled that when I opened the dishwasher door I was greeted with a sparkling white interior.  This stuff really blasts through rust stains.

Fast forward several years, and I remembered that CLR can also power through hard water and calcium deposits. ...

Get those stubborn stains out of your porcelain and bathroom with ease using CLR! This multipurpose cleaner busts stains, including but not exclusive to calcuim, lime and rust with little to no elbow grease at all.

Designed for the Environment, recognized for safe chemistry by the EPA, this enhanced patented formula is septic safe as well. Although, I do question the EPA Approval because it has many danger warnings; i.e. keep out of reach from children, a danger if swallowed, skin and eye irritant (I noticed a stinging in my eyes when I first poured the cleaner in my toilet.), it suggests...

CLR is a strong rust remover, has enough power to remove rust, calcium, lime without harming plumbing or other surfaces to which it was applied as per instructions, CLR was applied to a inside of a garbage disposal that was rusted and corroded from not being used for years, was having drainage problems through the unit, CLR worked magically now the drain holes in the garbage disposal run free and clear, am very happy with this product and plan on purchasing more of the same product again next time

CLR® Calcium, Lime, & Rust Remover (or more simply just "CLR") is so effective it spawned a company. Any time you have any kinds of mineral deposits, this stuff will take them off!

One time, I left my flatware in standing water, in rinsed dishes the sink before having left for vacation. When I returned, the water which evaporated left a line of mineral deposits (where the water line was originally) which I was hard pressed to remove. I tried scrubbing with a Scotch-Brite pad; I tried Bar Keeper's Friend. (I refrained from steel wool, since I didn't feel like marring the surface of the flatware.)...

I clean houses and a client of mine told me about CLR.  I always had a hard time getting soap scum and hard water off shower doors and metal.  This stuff made my life so much easier.

You mix equal portions of hot water and CLR into a spray bottle.  The directions say brush it on or use a sponge, but a spray bottle works better.  Spray it on and immediately start scrubbing with a scrub brush.  You will start to see it come off right away.  When you think you have got it all rinse it off with cold water, repeat if needed and your shower doors will look new.

It works great on...

Here's the trick with CLR.  Let it sit a little bit before scrubbing.  That will reduce the amount of scrubbing you will need to do!

When I first tried this product about 10 years ago, I didn't like it.  It didn't seem to do what I need it to do - remove calcium deposits in my shower.  After experimenting with it a little I realized that if you spray it on (it does not come in a spray bottle, at least the bottles I have bought, so I put it in my own marked spray bottle)  and let it sit for an hour or 3 that you will have alot less scrubbing to do.  You really don't need to do a whole lot...
