Great coffee maker for coffee bean experimenters

This is a great coffee maker with grinder for those who don't want to grind the coffee separately but still want freshly ground coffee made. I'll preface and say that this coffee maker can do with regular cleaning, then again you should be cleaning most coffee makers with regularity.

Smartest coffee maker on the market

So I have to admit I love all breville products. I have this coffee maker and two juicers. This is hands down the best coffee maker I have ever used. Pros: You can use a cup, travel mug, or the carafe. When you use a mug, you program how big the mug is as well. You can use ground beans or whole beans and it will grind it for you. You also get to choose the strength and flavor and there are a wide range of options. The coffee comes out fantastic every time; however, I will admit it took some playing around to get it just right. Cons: It is definitely a little big so it might not be great for a small apartment, but it is beautiful. I do find myself constantly wiping it down because the matte stainless steal can get smudges and finger prints on it. Also, although I love the timer function, if you set the timer before your alarm clock the grinder noise will wake you if you are a light sleeper. Finally, it is expensive. Ease of Cleaning The carafe is narrow at the top and it is difficult to get into. Also, because of the color of the carafe, it is hard to see if it is very clean. I would recommend getting a sponge with a handle. Design Beautiful but very big

High Quality but inconvenient

We bought this machine as a joint Christmas gift this year to replace our defunct Keurig. It is a fabulous machine in terms of the grind and brew, and really the only complaint I have is the inconvenience of the maintenance. It's great that there's a one-cup option, but to clean the entire inside of the machine for one cup of coffee is really tiresome. I do come from a Keurig background, though, so I was pretty spoiled by the ease of use on that one.

Worth Every Penny!

The Breville YouBrew Drip Coffee Maker is my favorite kitchen appliance I have ever owned. I was so hesitant to pay such a high price for a coffee maker, but I decided to splurge and buy myself something that would be strictly for me. I'm the only one in my house that drinks coffee, so my Breville YouBrew is all mine! Now I can make a cup of coffee that tastes better than coffee from any coffee shop in town. I am able control the coffee to water ratio and steeping time to make every cup taste to my preference. I prefer a strong jump start in the morning and a lighter cup of coffee in the afternoon. This machine allows me to do that. I also like to set the time to wake up to my coffee in the morning. I don't want a boiling hot cup of coffee that I can't even sip on for at least 30 minutes after I pour it in my cup. The Breville YouBrew brews my coffee to the perfect temperature, hotter than a cheap coffee maker, but not boiling. Although I have no use for the 12 cup setting, I definitely take advantage of the single cup sizes. Some days I only brew a regular cup, others an extra large cup. Just depends on my mood and how much of a kick start my day needs. I highly recommend this coffee maker to all coffee lovers. It is so simple to use and I can't find a single bad thing to say about it. I love it! The fact that it has a built-in burr grinder makes this coffee maker worth even more. Design This machine is very modern and stylish on my counter top.

"Great" Coffee Maker

Love that the coffee pot does not have to stay on after the coffee has brewed! I feel this coffee maker is a great energy saver! I put on timer and the coffee is ready for you when you wake up. The coffee brews into the carafe, which keeps the it hot for ours. Oh, it also makes great coffee. " Love It"

A grind and brew style coffee maker with many great features!

The Breville BDC600XL looks amazing and makes great coffee but the what is most impressive is the level of control. From a single cup to a full carafe, mild to bold... the user has a wide range of controls tweak the brew to fit their needs. Brew Performance Obviously the purpose of a coffee maker is to make coffee. No matter how great it looks, it needs to perform. The BDC600XL has not let me down yet. I have made a variety of brews, whole beans and pre-ground and the coffee is just great. The flexibility is what makes this coffee maker stand out from others I own, but that would not matter to me if the coffee didn't taste great. Ease of Cleaning Cleaning this unit seems to be similar to other grind and brew makers. I have yet to do anything more than rinsing out the removable basket and holder and rinsing the carafe, along with occasionally brushing the grind area clean with the included brush. I use filtered water exclusively so I have not had any problems with hard water, etc. Ease of Use The features can take a little while to get used to, and I still make a mistake or two sometimes. Once you learn how to use it however it really makes a huge difference. This coffee maker fill all of my everyday needs. Adding beans or grounds couldn't be simpler and is very similar to other grind and brew makers on the market. Adding water is even easier since the water level is displayed on the digital readout with an audible alert when the maximum level is reached. Like other thermal carafes, it can be difficult to get the final drop of coffee out... but unlike some other brands I have not had any issues with this one leaking. Design The look Breville has developed for their products is quite unique. The stainless steel is brushed and almost dull making it much easier to keep free of smudges and fingerprints. The design itself is beefy with chamfered edges that really give it a heavy look. Despite the uniqueness, it goes well with the other small appliances I have in my kitchen. Durability I have only owned this maker for a few months but so far everything has held up well. I notice no wear on any parts and the build quality is excellent. I would expect this unit to hold up very well to daily use even in the busiest households.

The Breville You Brew makes great coffee and is very easy to use

I have been buying Starbucks reserve made on the clover for the last year. Expensive habit but delicious. The breville makes as good if not better but saves me time and money. Brew Performance Love the flavor and freshness. Rivals the best coffee I have had and I am pretty picky. Ease of Cleaning Cleaning grounds is still messy but this coffee maker makes it as as as I have seen. Ease of Use I love the fact it is one button and it grinds, brews and pours.
