This is a basic blender that did what I asked of it, which was make ice cream shakes. The problem I had with it was getting it clean. No matter what I did to clean it, it never got completely clean. At the next use, it always smelled of sour milk. Very off putting. The base had too many nooks and crannies that I couldn't access, where things could collect and turn sour. Blending Power Does the basics well, though I never asked it to go above and beyond. It has a slight problem common to most blenders I've used: It doesn't blend well, depending on what's in there. I mainly used it to make shakes, and the chocolate at the top would kind of hang out at the top. Ease of Cleaning The base doesn't come apart, or if it did, I wasn't able to get it apart, without using tools. I cleaned it according to directions (warm water and soap in the canister, put on the base and blend for a few minutes), but that didn't seem to do the trick. I put the canister in the dishwasher, but that didn't get it completely clean. There was always a sour milk smell (I mainly used it for ice cream shakes). I finally just threw it away. Design It was poorly designed for getting clean. Also the base would sometimes leak while blending, which is definitely a problem. Durability I wouldn't really know, as I threw it away less than a year after I purchased it. It did feel satisfyingly sturdy and heavy.

This is a really great blender in it's price range. It's power rated at 475 watts. Has 12 speeds with a pulse blend option button and a separate ice crusher button. It works so well for me that I will often substitute it for my food processor for small jobs. Blending Power The speed settings and the pulse option gives you a lot of control. I often use this blender to make bread crumbs. Using the pulse button makes the chore simple and easy. Versatility To reiterate, the operator has a great deal of function as to speed, duration, and pulsing. I can work on anything from just blending liquids to crushing ice. Ease of Cleaning The base is very easy to clean. I use a cotton swab to clean in and around the buttons. The glass jar is sturdy unlike some of the plastic containers featured on other machines. Ease of Use The buttons indicate the power level and are self-explanatory. Assembling and locking the container in place is not difficult. The locking mechanism gives a feeling of a secure fit. Design The base of the glass unit makes it easy to place and lock on to the motor unit. Aesthetically, it look good on my counter top as it has a similar look to my other "black and sleek" small appliances. Durability The motor is rated at 475 watts. I believe you would really have to abuse it to burn out this motor. I does a more than adequate job on ice if not overloaded.

This is a great everyday blender. It is very good at crushing and chopping ice, which is one of the main reasons I use a blender. I can make a good smoothie with few if any chunks of ice in the mixture. Blending Power Many options even though I really do not know the differences. It blends very quickly. Versatility It is not a substitute for a food processor as chopping onions, blending our dough and other processes are not able to be done Ease of Cleaning Everything comes apart for very easy cleaning. It is a bit more tricky to clean the base, but with a minute or two, it cleans nicely. Design It is very attractive and has sleek lines Durability If your product needs replacement parts, Blacker and Decker have them avaiable

I asked for a blender last year for Christmas but did not specify any particular brand or style.  I got the black and decker 12 speed blender and at first was quite impressed.  I loved the crushed ice setting and it seemed so powerful.  But just a month ago, I was making some baby food and it just stopped working.  It wasn't overloaded and I hadn't had it running too long at all but it stopped turning and has never turned back on since.  My husband, who can fix about anything, is stumped and we both decided that it wasn't worth trying to fix.  For a product, that was only used a handful of times, to break after only having it for a year, speaks pretty clearly to me that the quality is not worth wasting your money.  I would rather spend a little more upfront for a quality, durable blender than have to keep buying cheap ones like this.  Definitely do you own research to decide for yourself, but know that I was not a satified customer.

This Black and Decker Crush Master Blender works quite well.  I have had other blenders in the past that work, but they did not do as good of a job as this blender does.  This blender offers many options and speeds, which is nice depending on what you are trying to do.  I especially like the ice crushing option which works great when you are trying to make a drink and you need the ice crushed well, better than what your freezer can do with the crush option.  I also like the large capacity that the blender is able to hold.  You are able to mix/blend whatever you want and you can do it in a large batch, which is nice.  I also like the sturdiness of this blender.  The jar that is used for mixing is also very nice because it is made out of glass, when most are made out of plastic.  Another great option that this blender features is a quick clean option.  You are able to put water and soap in the blender mix it around and clean the blender quickly.  This way you don't have to worry about soaking it or trying to get things that are stuck to the side out.  The one thing that I don't like about this blender is if you have it filled full with ice and a drink mix, it is difficult to get it all mixed together, especially if you don't have the ice crushed ahead a time.   Overall, this is a good blender and work well.

This Black and Decker blender is superb.  It is great for making all types of delicious sauces,purees, etc in minutes.  Saves a lot of time in the kitchen and works efficiently.  It is easy to clean too, which In my opinion is really important.
