When my regular toaster broke, I started a search online for a replacement. After seeing a few toaster ovens, I decided I was going to see how well a toaster oven would replace a regular toaster. My husband warned me that I would be buying a regular toaster within 2 weeks of using the toaster oven because it was sure to toast unevenly. I decided to go for it and haven't been disappointed! It not only toasts evenly, but has proven to be really convenient for me. I have two little ones that eat cheese toast frequently and I feel better about using less electricity than if I were to use my oven. And when I want to bake a few cheese sticks, chicken nuggets, or fish sticks, it's great. No more waiting for the oven to preheat or worrying about the oven heating up the house in the middle of summer (I live in south Texas). And when I mix up a batch (or double batch) of cookie dough, I can put the dough in the freezer and conveniently bake a few cookies at a time as needed. Also works great for reheating pizza and other leftovers that are normally soggy coming out of the microwave. The only reason I didn't give it a very good rating is because it has a really short cord. Even Heating Contrary to my husbands warning, heats very evenly. Safety It does get really hot on the top and the sides. I would be careful to make sure I didn't put anything on top of it or close to the sides. It does have "bumpers" in the back to keep it about an inch away from the wall Ease of Cleaning Easy to wipe clean and has an easy to open crumb tray that pretty much covers the entire bottom. Durability I have tried to roast any full sized meat dish yet but it has worked well for cookies, toast, grille cheese, pizza, cheese sticks, chicken nuggets, and more. Design Great design.
