Most HelpfulI clean houses for a living. I have used all kinds of mops over the last five years. A regular mop leaves a chemical residue behind dulling the floor. The shark steam mop left them truly clean, no residue, no germs, no dirt. The floors even felt better when walked on barefooted. I also liked the fact...

Most HelpfulI wanted to strangle my husband when yet another infomercial item arrived on my door step Since he was at work, I decided to open the box to see what he had ordered this time. I could tell it was some kind of floor machine, and looked simple enough to put together,so I thought I'd try that before he got home. I was right - super simple assembly! When I read th direcions & it said steam in less than 30 seconds, I - the all time pessimist and disbeliever - had to prove that was false. :Lo & behold, there was steam in less than 30 seconds! So of course I had to try it out. My kitchen...

I have had four hand surgeries so pushing a mop around always hurts... my floors were always dirty. I can complain and moan and groan, but you know kids... even if they did try to help it would be a crappy job. I was going to buy a Hoover floor cleaner (can't remember exact name) that cost about $150. I saw this at Target and put down the Hoover. I remembered the infomercial that I had seen and thought "what the hell". I have never been happier! I can clean my entire house in about half an hour....

(bcause skiny shaft). when you push it, steam will come out.For my kitchen floor I used powder bleech after I used this mop. Obviously, bleech worked better. But after that, I keep using this for kichen. Dry immideately, and I can walk with my bare foot. no chemicals and feels good. I think if you replace your floor new. then start to use this, keeps your floor clean. If you consider to buy steam mop, I will recommend Bissell's one. It seems more stable and cheaper at wal-mart....
read full review »Living in a home filled with many dogs creates quite a challenging feat when it comes to floor care! I purchased the shark steam mop with much reluctancy but can honestly testify to its merits. I have been successful when following these steps:
1. Thoroughly sweep and vacuum floors first as the mop will not pick up loose dirt easily.
2. Use the theory of clean to dirty first, will eliminate the streaking.
3. Especially great on ceramic/slate tile.
4. Still undecided on laminate as have used x 5 and the shine is still not there. I was told that the years of chemical usage will take time...
