As Seen On TV Shark Steam Mop Review Summary

Most reviewers are very happy with the Shark Steam Mop. Simply add water and a washable cleaning pad, and you're ready to clean the floors. Users like the idea of chemical free steam cleaning and earth friendly cleaning pads. In most cases, the Shark does a great job. Some Shark owners find the steam machine does not do as well on vinyl flooring. Home users recommend sweeping first for best results. Buying extra pads is another suggestion. That way you don't end up in the middle of the job with really a dirty pad making dirt streaks. Remember, also, that the Shark does not have wheels. You need some upper body and arm strength to push this floor cleaner.

I clean houses for a living. I have used all kinds of mops over the last five years. A regular mop leaves a chemical residue behind dulling the floor. The shark steam mop left them truly clean, no residue, no germs, no dirt. The floors even felt better when walked on barefooted. I also liked the fact...

Warning: Beware of something that sounds "too good to be true!" Seeing the television ad for the Shark Steam Mop, the only thing that registered in my tired and frazzled brain was "Here's the answer to my tired housewife prayers." I was wrong. The Shark Steam Mop's price is steep for something... read full review »

I wanted to strangle my husband when yet another infomercial item arrived on my door step  Since he was at work, I decided to open the box to see what he had ordered this time.  I could tell it was some kind of floor machine, and looked simple enough to put together,so I thought I'd try that before he got home.  I was right - super simple assembly!  When I read th direcions & it said steam in less than 30 seconds, I - the all time pessimist and disbeliever - had to prove that was false.  :Lo & behold, there was steam in less than 30 seconds!  So of course I had to try it out.  My kitchen...

We have tile through-out the house with three dogs (two "monster" dogs and a bitty one) and four kids. I have had four hand surgeries so pushing a mop around always hurts... my floors were always dirty. I can complain and moan and groan, but you know kids... even if they did try to help it would be a crappy job. I was going to buy a Hoover floor cleaner (can't remember exact name) that cost about $150. I saw this at Target and put down the Hoover. I remembered the infomercial that I had seen and thought "what the hell". I have never been happier! I can clean my entire house in about half an hour....

Let me start out by saying, I have in the house me, my husband, 12 year old daughter, and 4 dogs. After raising 4 teenage boys, I'm pretty sure the dogs drag in more dirt than a kid does. (kids at least are supposed to remove their dirty shoes at the door. The dogs, on the other hand....) It said on the box, "Safe for wood floors", which I have. After using it, I'm positive this thing wasn't designed for a family like ours.

The next thing I want to say is, "Don't waste you're money!"

I went to Bed Bath & Beyond, and bought the $99.99 model (It's $40 more than the other model because it has a slightly...

This product works great and is well worth the money.  It is so lightweight, easy to carry and just as easy to use.  It provides thorough "swiffer style" cleaning with pads that are REUSABLE.  It uses steam with absolutely NO CHEMICALS yet it manages to thoroughly clean the floor.  The steam santizes it as well.

The only con is the fact that the water tank is a little small and needs refilling often, although this would likely add to the weight.

I am using this almost 5months. From TV ad this seems like clean everything, but not. Might need muscle to push this. (bcause skiny shaft).  when you push it, steam will come out.For my kitchen floor I used powder bleech after I used this mop. Obviously, bleech worked better. But after that, I keep using this for kichen. Dry immideately, and I can walk with my bare foot. no chemicals and feels good. I think if you replace your floor new. then start to use this, keeps your floor clean. If you consider to buy steam mop, I will recommend Bissell's one. It seems more stable and cheaper at wal-mart....

I received the Shark steam mop for christmas.  After using the mop for a couple of months it stopped producing stream.  I called the Euro company and they actually sent me a new one.  I could not believe it.  It works better than the first one.  If you have never used this mop you are missing out.  I have pets and this steam mop is great.  It takes less than half the time I used to spend on cleaning my floors and it does a fab job.  It even has a carpet slider to clean your carpet.  Great to have around the house.  Hope you try it.

I have tried soooo many mops, this is the best I have found.  It uses just steam so there are no chemicals around my kids.  The steam sanitizes so I don't have to worry about spreading around germs like with a regular mop.  When I am done I just toss the pad in the washer.  This is saving me money since I used to have to replace the pads like I had to for my old mop (and purchase cleaner too)!!  I have Linolium, Tile and Hardwood throughout my entire house, and 2 toddlers so I mop often!!  It does a great job.  I found that if I dampen the pad before I start it works a bit easier. If... read full review »

I love this product. I have tried just about everything out there. I love the Swiffer Wet Jet too, but I have a lot of allergies and can't handle most chemical smells. The steam mop is easy to use, and I know my floors are clean when I'm done. And I don't have to keep my toy poodle out of the way while I mop worrying that she will lick the chemical from the other mops. I bought several of the pads so I can use one and throw it in the wash. I make sure I sweep the floor first, using one of those Swiffer pads made just for that, to get off most of the dirt before mopping. Wouldn't be without it... read full review »

Living in a home filled with many dogs creates quite a challenging feat when it comes to floor care!  I purchased the shark steam mop with much reluctancy but can honestly testify to its merits.  I have been successful when following these steps:

1.  Thoroughly sweep and vacuum floors first as the mop will not pick up loose dirt easily.

2.  Use the theory of clean to dirty first, will eliminate the streaking.

3.   Especially great on ceramic/slate tile.

4.  Still undecided on laminate as have used x 5 and the shine is still not there.  I was told that the years of chemical usage will take time...

THE SHARK STEAM VAC IS PROBABLY THE MOST USEFUL FLOOR MOP THAT COULD EVER BE MADE. ITS WELL WORK THE MONEY AND SO EASY.  ONLY THING YOU HAVE TO BUY FOR IT IS DISTILLED WATER.  AT 60 CENTS A GAL COMPARED TO FLOOR CLEANERS UP TO 4 DOLLARS WHAT A STEAL AND YOU KNOW YOUR FLOOR IS STERILIZED.
