The Alterna Caviar line is clearly the top of the line products and in their case you do get what you pay for. That said, it's very expensive and a real splurge that I give to myself when my hair needs serious rescue. I rated this above average and the only thing that stops me from giving it 5 stars is the price. I do think this could be slightly more affordable, especially given the economy, but it's the porsche of hair care products...if you want the best then get this product. After I use it my hair feels like silk. Super bouncy with no split ends and maintains my color well. I would use this product once a week if I could afford it but I tend to use this product for special events (when I'm going to a wedding or anniversary or special date night) and whenever I see that my hair is looking especially damaged or looking a bit lifeless. Net-net I suggest buying this product if you can afford it. The results are worth the price!

Like another reviewer, I recently won a full size bottle of Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Overnight Hair Rescue.  My hair is in pretty good shape, but I thought that it would be helpful to use an overnight hair conditioner during the winter. You're supposed to apply a dime-sized amount of this product to hair ends and let sit overnight before rinsing it out.  The product is easy enough to apply, but it smells foul, and it leaves my hair ends stiff while it sites.  When I rinse it out in the morning, most of it seems to shower off (I haven't had a problem with residue), and I feel that my hair is healthier, shinier, and stronger.   I have noticed fewer split ends with continued use of this product, and my hair is not as staticky as it normally is in the winter.  I have not used the Caviar Overnight Hair Rescue as often as I should have though because I really despise the smell.  Some people may like the scent, but it just grosses me out.  If Alterna altered the fragrance of this conditioner, I would use it more often, but for now, I will stick to sporadic use.

     I recently won a full sized bottle of Alterna's Caviar Overnight Hair Rescue and it came with a sample sized packet.  I opted to use the sample size first just to get the feel of the product before using the full sized product (just in case I didn't like it).  I was pretty pleased with how this product worked.  The directions say to apply to dry hair before bedtime, leave it on through the night and wash out in the morning.  So naturally I did just that.  I don't usually wash my hair in the morning so I had to alter my schedule around just to try this product (which wasn't too difficult :)  I liked how smoothly in was to apply and that it didn't leave my hair feeling greasy after applying.  After washing the product off I styled my hair as usual.  My hair seemed to be somewhat softer just after one application, it laid better and was easier to brush through with no tangles.  The fragrance is very soft and pleasing, not too strong.
