We've had our econo-heat unit for a few years. It is mounted in what traditionally would be considered a 10x10 formal living / sitting room with two open entryways. This room is used as an home office so we needed dedicated heat to this area with turning the entire house heat up during the day. The unit is simply designed so that it neatly blends into the furnishings. It is also simple to operate with a toggle switch and very reliable. What I like most is that it doesnt' blow heat like a traditional space heater, so it maintains an even temperature. After all of this time, there has been no visible damage to the wall or nearby furnishings. I would definitely purchase this product again and recommend it to others. Performance Knock on wood it hasn't failed after several years of use. Ease of Use Simple switch of a toggle. Durability Because of it's purpose, there is nothing directly near it and it never comes in contact with anything that might damage it, but it seems quite sturdy and is mounted securely on the wall. Design Simple to mount, easy to use, and blends in to the furnishings. Safety Mounting instructions and supplies were perfect and doesn't get so hot that it damages items around it.

We discovered Econo-Heat wall mounted heaters a few years ago, and we now have one in each of our bedrooms, as well as the bedrooms at the apartment we own. In both houses (both houses are very old and drafty), we have been able to turn the heat down significantly as the heaters do the job for the bedrooms- in fact, it can even get to be TOO toasty sometimes. It's amazing! Design Easy to install, and it says that you can paint them to match the wall...we haven't tried that yet. Safety Safest space heaters out there.

Have had 8 Econo-Heat 'convection' Panel Heaters in my upstate NY home for over 18 months!  These are purely a Convection Heat Panel without the need for a thermostat.  They are designed to be left on 24-7 in cold months and only require the normal flow of air in each room ( if installed correctly following an Easy Installation Guide ).  The description alone on these heaters should be obvious to anyone that they will get warm/hot to the touch, especially for young children, when left on ( **especially in a 'not so cold' climate** )!  But the generated heat is structurally safe, again, if installed and used correctly.  Although electric, these have significantly reduced my home heating costs, being that I have a kerosene furnace.  I give them five stars because they are as efficient as claimed, and have been worth every penny for me.  They are best used to suppliment a primary heat source such as a furnace, etc..

We got these heaters because our house is small, old and inefficent in holding heat. We also have a 1 1/2 year old and it was marketed that it wasn't hot to the touch, so that sold us right off the bat. unfortunately, that statement was exactly accurate. what they MEAN to say is that if you brush up against it briefly, it won't send you to the ER. but it is definitely a hazard to young children who are particularly drawn to the glowing orange "on" button in the bottom right corner. it is true that the heater looks virtually invisible and comes out only about an inch from the wall, which is ESSENTIAL in a tiny space. because it doesn't have a fan to kick out the heat, you won't feel like it's making much of a difference unless you stand an inch away from it. however, our gas bills have gone down significantly, and when the heater is on, the furnace doesn't kick on as often. i wouldn't recommend leaving them on overnight or when you are not at home, due to the surface heat it creates. overall, it was still a good investment, but i wouldn't have bought them if my house was bigger or newer.
