First of all, I would like to say that the product does work. I had been taking it for quite a few years and it was the only thing I found that helped me. But I have recently learned that the medicine was never intended for long term use. I believe it has been causing me a number of issues such as malabsorption of vitamins and minerals, osteoporosis (I actually did break a hip and I'm only 55.), nervous system issues, and edema. When I learned of the possible connection it was just too much of a coincidence to ignore. I had to cease taking the medicine. My B12 level was so low the doctor is very concerned and has me on injections. Apparently, this is one big vitamin that Zegerid blocks absorption of. So, if you are taking this stuff you had better consult your physician. I'm now three weeks off of it and having a recurrence of my stomach issues. But I'm trying to find something else I can take that will work. Effectiveness I have to rate it high because it does work.

I bought this product for the first time last week.  I have generally used zantac as needed before I eat spicy or products with tomatos in them.  That has generally worked for me in the past.  I saw this product which was on sale at cvs with extra care bucks back for buying the product.  I took it once daily for a full 14 days as advertised on the product.  I did not feel that it helped my occasional acid reflux.  I still needed to take additional medications after eating certain foods.  It did not prevent or lesson the symptoms that I frequently feel after eating italian or spicy foods.  I submitted this product for a full money back guarantee since I feel that it did not help my symptoms.  I hope that it helps your symptoms better than mine.  But there is a full money back guarantee offer up to 9/30/2010, so if you want to try the product risk free you can.  I will stick with my tums and zantac though for my occasional symptoms and will not buy this again.

Works way better when you drink it in the morning on a completely empty stomach. Don't keep eating all of those things that give you heartburn because after a while the product is not as effective against it. Effectiveness At times it doesn't feel like it's working. I'm not sure whether it's a mental thing or not since I discoverd at one time that one of the capsules in the Zegerid bottle was empty. Ease of Use Easy to swallow. Immediacy When you start feeling your stomach tighten that's when you know it's time to eat.

I would not recommend this product for anyone who has FREQUENT acid reflux/heartburn. My husband and I both suffer from severe acid reflux flaring up at least 4 times per week. We both tried this product over a course of a month. With each dose it seemed to intensify the acid reflux/heartburn rather than soothe it. Would not recommend nor would I buy again.

i have really bad acid reflux and i treid all heartburn medicine from nexium,zantac,prevacid,protonix,prilosec. and none of them worked. i always heard people liked prilosec said it worked from them, but it didnt for me at all.i know this has one indredient that prilosec has.but i tried this anyway. this works really fast within the hour you take it.i been using this for about 5 months now and i feel alot better now from the acid reflux.i dont really have no more side effects from acid reflux since i been using this.my doctor also recommended this that its okay to take.so if you tried prilosec and thought this had the same medcine in it and thought it wouldnt work like prilosec like i did. i say give this a try because it does work alot better than prilosec are any other heartburn medicine either non-prescription or prescription. it really works and best of all no side effects.

I suffer from daily reflux and decided to try Zegerid after using Prilosec for a few years.  Zegerid works great, but I have one complaint.  The pills are huge!  I usually swallow 3 pills at one time, but I had trouble swallowing the Zegerid pills.  I finished the package, but I don't plan to buy any more of them since Prilosec and Prevacid work just as well for me.
