After moving to a new house location we found ourselves in need of dehumidifier due to a basement that draws dampness.  After comparison shopping we purchased a Whirlpool dehumidifier, model AD70USS, and have been very pleased with the performance it has given us.  The Whirlpool dehumidifier AD70USS is attractive enough not to be an embarrassment, is compact but takes care of a large area, 500 sq feet, and was very economical to purchase.  It comes with a large capacity water collection bin that has an automatic shut off and is easy to remove and empty.  I was totally amazed at the amount of water it removed from the air the first day we had it in use.  It removes up to 70 pints of water within a 24 hour period in temperatures as low as 38 degrees!  I could not believe how well it works.  I love the automatic shut off as it prevents the container from overfilling and ruining my carpet.  Maintainence is easy.  Whirpool reccommends to use a good soapy cleaner and bleach to keep the collection bin clean and free of mildew or mold.  No other maintainence is required.  The Whirlpool dehumidifier AD70USS is a neutral grayish cream color and blends well in any room.  The machine only needs 12-18 inch wall clearance to operate which makes it easy to use in any room.  We have now had the machine for 4 years without having experience any problems from it.
