I bought this dehumidifier for my mom who just bought a house. She was having a terrible mold problem in her bedroom and closet. She was getting frustrated because the mold was cropping up everywhere. She is a nurse so she has lots of expensive dansko clogs which cost a fortune. She lost one pair because they molded so badly. I heard about using these for small rooms and closets so I decided to give it a try. It works wonders. She is no longer having mold growing on her shoes and clothes. She has it in the doorway to her closet, and it's even keeping the mold out of the bedroom as well. It's a fairly small room, but it does work for the whole area. If you are having issues with mold it's definitely worth buying one of these. Mold can ruin your stuff, and it's not good to be breathing that in either. I am going to buy a second one for myself for my bathroom because it's so moist in there and gets smelly. I think it's well worth the price.

My son got very sick and had to keep going to the doctor for sinus congestion, infections and various other problems with his sinuses and his ears. The doctor finally recommended that we tried to find a dehumidifier for his room because none of the antibiotics were really helping with the problem. I thought it would not work, but I was really surprised by this dehumidifier. My son has a small bedroom and this worked really well in there, when he was sleeping downstairs on the couch in the living room and we used it, it did not really help him like it did upstairs. I was sold on this after how well it worked. I also like to pull it out and use it when it gets really wet out and everyone feels sticky. It helps the house to feel so much better and everyone is far more comfortable when I have it on. I keep it on all of the time next to my fish tank after I found some mold growing behind it, I have had no problems with mold since we started to use it next to it. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a good dehumidifier.

My air conditioner was out of service and Florida is very humid, to top it off I have a salt water and fresh water fish tank in which water that evaporates has nowhere to go. I needed this product in the mean time I get my A/C serviced. Well the humidity levels in the bedroom dropped from 82% to 70% in about 2 days which is pretty good considering it's a medium sized bedroom. I fixed the A/C and humidity levels dropped to 60% having the Eva-dry turned off. As soon as I turned it on it dropped to about 52%. Even having my A/C working I still use the Eva-dry to save some money on my energy bill and at the same time getting rid of humidity. I really like this product for it's efficiency, size and quietness. This product can only be found online so if you are looking for a small dehumidifier for a small or medium room this is the one for you.

I purchased the Eva-Dry EDV-2200 dehumidifier for my walk-in closet after living for several weeks in allergic agony.  We had a wet spring here in the Southeast, and that led to mold in my closet.  The mold was on everything:  shoes, belts, luggage, baskets I'd stored, and even on many of our good clothes.  I cleaned the closet and its contents thoroughly, sneezing most of the while, as I am allergic to mold big-time. After everything was cleaned out, we ran our air purifier in the closet and then installed the Eva-Dry dehumidifier.  I have been amazed at how much water the unit removes.  We just had a new heat-pump put in since our air conditioner died, and the new air conditioner removes about a 5-gallon bucket of water every day.  Even so, the Eva-Dry dehumidifier in the closet must be emptied every other day. This dehumidifier is effective - there's not been any more mold - and is quite easy to operate.  Once it's plugged in, all you have to do to remove the water is turn off the unit, slide out the tray with the water, empty the water in the sink, and then reinstall the tray.  It is not super-expensive and seems a good value for the money. I've given Eva-Dry four stars only because at this point in our relationship, the dehumidifier has not yet stood the test of time.  If it continues this well for five years, I'll give it five stars!
