Get squeaky clean dishes when you put them in clean!

2

This dishwasher will clean and sanitize your dirty dishes, but I must clarify the word "Drity." If you put dry pasta sauce, a bit of maple syrup, yesterdays coffee cup, some caked on cat food, or just some bread crumbs in this dishwasher do not expect them to be gone when you open it up. In fact they will likely be right where you left them with some added scum to go along with it. I have to use a Jet-Dry type product to even hope that my dishes will come out clean, and oh yes, I practically have to put them in clean. I honestly soak, rinse, and brush any and all debris that may be clinging to my dishes and cups away before placing them in this dishwasher. Otherwise they come out worse than when they went in. I also had to switch from powdered dish detergent to using a generous amount of liquid soap since the powder was not dissolving all the way and I would find chunks of it stuck to the dishes and the inside of the dishwasher. The cycle lasts approximately 2 hours, the first hour is the cleaning part and the second is the drying. There is an option to use air dry rather than heat dry, so I do that and try to save some money on my electric bills; that is probably the only positive thing I have to say about this dishwasher. I know they all get less effective as the years go by, but this is pretty sad, even after cleaning with a commercial dishwasher cleaner and constant use of jet dry with liquid detergent on practically clean dishes, I get scum. The inside is satisfactory with enough room on top for most of my mugs and glasses, i can put some bowls up there too when the bottom fills up. The lower rack has the utensil basket smack in the center leaving awkward spaces surrounding it, you can get maybe 8 full sized plates to fit, the rest will have to wait for the next load (or heck do them by hand). I do not recommend this unit, look elsewhere.

Dishwasher works great!

5

This house was included from the builder when we built out house. It is just an average model dishwasher not top of the line in the Whirlpool line. However, it works great we don't have any problems out of it. I guess my only complaint is it is sometimes hard to get the knob lined up in just the right spot to get the right cycle started. It isn't overly noisy (I've lived places with louder ones). It gets the dishes clean. it takes about an hour or so for the whole cycle to run that is including the dry cycle which is optional. The drying cycle works wonderful. Dishes are HOT if you try to unload them right after you open it from the drying cycle. Our model is black and the outside wipes clean easily. I use a dishwasher cleaner on the inside once a month. It stays clean on the inside except sometimes food debris do collect on the drain in the bottom of the dishwasher. They are easily to pick out and throw away though so not a major problem. Definitely a great model to get for the price!

Basic Dishwasher

This machine is not fancy, no bells, no whistles just mostly clean dishes. You have to pre rinse when theres stuck on messes with this dishwasher and sometimes Ill have to handwash something thats still has a few spots on it. For the most part this machine does its job and leaves me to do other things. I will agree with other reviews that this model very noisy so if you are looking for peace and quiet you might want to keep looking.

Sounds like there is a waterfall in your kitchen

2

This dishwasher came with our house when we bought it. It cleans fairly well, about what would be expected with a cheap dishwasher, but boy is it loud! It sounds like you are in the rain forest standing next to the waterfall it is so loud. You can't run it and expect to have a conversation with someone in your kitchen because you won't be able to hear anything over the noise! Also it has that huge pillar in the middle of the bottom rack to shoot water up to the top rack, so it is hard to wash large items in it because you have to work around the massive pillar. The water would shoot up to the top rack so hard sometimes that it would knock down plastic items (which are dishwasher safe, mind you!) off, which would then proceed to melt on the drying unit at the bottom of the unit. That is not a fun smell to wake up to, let alone get the stink out of your dishwasher. If you have other options, do not buy this machine! Noise Level Waterfall, anyone? Cleaning Time About average...what would be expected of a normal dishwasher. Loading Flexibility Not very easy to load large items on bottom rack due to gigantic pillar in middle. Performance Cleans fairly well, but expect water spots on all plastic and some glasses. Design Not the prettiest machine. Durability I'm pretty sure ours was pretty old when we bought the house, so I guess they last for a long time. But I can't wait to throw it out and get a new one!

Pretty average dishwasher

3

This dishwasher came with our house and is a very basic model. It is not the worst dishwasher ever, but we do have to thoroughly rinse all items. Otherwise they will not get clean. It is also very noisy, as previous reviewers have mentioned. We have an open floor plan, so this is an issue when trying to watch tv in the living room.

The noisiest machine I've ever heard!

2

I've had this machine for about 8 months, it came with the unit. This is a very basic model, the controls are a little difficult to work, never sure if it's going at the beginning of the cycle or at the end. You can't get a lot in this dishwasher and the top shelf , for us, is to close to the top of the machine, tall glasses are a problem, some pots/plastic containers--no way will they fit. The cleaning is mediocre as there is always some pieces of silverware that doesn't get cleaned. But the biggest problem with this machine is it is the noisiest dishwasher I have ever heard! When it is on, there is no conversation to be held in the kitchen. We turn up the tv louder if we are in the living room, because you actually cannot hear over the diswasher! I understand noise is an issue with a lot of whirlpool/kenmore products. But this is ridiculously loud. I would not get another one of these machines mainly due to the noise. Don't waste your money on this.

Whirlpool dishwasher cleans well but is pretty loud

3

This whirlpool dishwasher cleans dishes well and is a basic, good dishwasher. However, it is pretty noisy; we have to turn it off while we are watching movies in our family room (located right next to the kitchen). Also, the dishwasher has only one sprayer - on the bottom. So we have to be careful to not put bowls facing down, or the spray will not thoroughly clean the top dishes. We also have to rinse our dishes pretty well in order for this dishwasher to clean them. We find that if dishes are not rinsed thoroughly, the food is scattered onto all the dishes and is not disposed of during the wash cycle. Extra bits of food collect at the grate at the bottom of the dishwasher, so we often have to clean it out. This is an okay dishwasher and does its job, but I would not purchase it again.
