This phone was one I picked out for my 60 year old mother to use. Now keep in mind this wasn't her first cell phone, it was an upgrade offered to her by Cingular as they do ever year and 1/2 or so. When reading the specs and features it seemed like a great choice as she had to have a camera phone (though i don't think she has used the camera even once thus far). We got the phone and of course it was my job to program her numbers in it for her and show her how to use it. Truth be told as tech savvy as i am this phone proved too complex for me to even battle with without the manual in hand at all times. So what ended up happening is she just uses the basic features because there are way too many menus to go through and steps to remember to perform some of the functions we initially picked the phone out for having in the first place. So I give this phone an average rating and although I would recommend it to a friend I would only recommend it to someone that is into reading an entire manual for something they own and enjoys trial and error to get to the great features it does posses.

This phone is more than I could ask for for being free with service. It takes pretty good pictures and good video.  The phone has a battery that lasts for about 4 to 6 days, depending on how much I use it.  I like having a screen on the front of the phone so I can see who is calling before opening the phone up.

This is a great cell phone for anyone...I have had it now for over a year..and I will probably not give it up anytime soon..When the phone rings the whole inner part of the phone lights up.You can choose from many different types of ringer lights. The graphics on the phone too are excellent...The phone has themes all ready programmed into it..You can also change the face plates to make it your own unique style!The only thing i dislike about this phone is that it doesnt stay charged for very long..But I would definitely recommend this phone to anyone!

I have gone through 3 Sony Ericson z525a's and although the phone has a great menu system and battery life, I cannot get past its durability issues. I have experienced the same problem both times my phone broke. The people at Sony Ericson call it "The white screen of death". It is pretty much what it sounds like, the screen turns white and you can no longer see anything but this monotone screen. you can still receive calls but you will never know who they are from or be able to make outgoing calls (as well as do things like set an alarm, check your calendar etc.). After speaking to some customer service people they mailed me a new phone because I had owned this one for less than a year. The shipping was free and prepaid for the return of the phone and was done very promptly. This happened to me again about 8 months later. I did not drop the phone or get it wet or anything like that. I believe this has something to do with them willingly replacing it for free. Basically the phone is a non-smart phone that should be free with any contract and seems like it would not be anyone's first choice for now. Even if you do not want to get a data plan, go for another model.

the phones works well and has a pretty good camera. though after a while it just wouldn't work. the ringtones you set it for will change after a while if you leave your phone on for days at a time. it will go to the default ringtone but if you turn it off then back on it works fine. and the screen sometimes would show up like it should when you open the phone. i've found that with sony ericsson phones this problem occurs on their phone. i updated my phone to a newer sony ericsson and have had the phone for about a year and a half and it's starting to do the same thing as this one.

This was my favorite phone, unfortunately when I switched to Altell, I couldn't use it.  The phone is very easy to figure out, graphics, buttons, and sound were excellent.  I like having screen on outside of camera as well.  The only downfall for me was the size of the videos when you send them to your email are very small.  Also some pictures turned out grainy in low light, but maybe that was just due to my picture taking.

I really like my Sony Ericsson.  It is the first flip phone that I have had.  I have trouble with my hands and this phone is easy for me to use and I don't have to always use my hands.  My Blue Tooth works really great with this phone also.  I like the way it saves numbers that have been called and received.  The address book is really easy to use along with the camera.

    I have used the "**Sony Ericsson - Z525A Cell Phone" **for 12 months now. This cell phone is small and compact which works great for me. The features are above average for my needs too. This cell phone is great for a person on the move and for someone that does not need the expensive and consuming features of the top of the line phones. Don't be fooled or mislead, this cell phone can do most things, it does have a small screen, but that has not slowed me down. This phone has one major draw back though, it is not constructed for the abusive owner or a job that would put stress on the phone from bumping or dropping it.

This phone has many defaults. The phone easily freezes when scrolling through contacts. If sat near another phone like it, it loses your call. The phone doesnt last more than 4 months before the screen break. Two of my  phone like this broke and no i didnt drop them. Their screen turned completely white and you couldnt do anything.
