This camera is easy to use and takes great pictures.

Comments about Sony - Cyber-shot DSC-W30:

I received this camera for Mother's Day a couple of years ago, and it has been great. It takes good photos, is easy to use, and has long battery life.  It is very compact, fitting easily into a purse or even a pocket.  This could be a downfall for someone with large hands. The camera has several modes, including a video mode.  I pretty much always use the auto adjustment mode, which serves me well.  It is easy to delete photos that you don't want, and it is also easy to turn the flash off if you need to.Transfering photos to your PC is easy with the supplied USB cable. The camera uses a rechargeable battery, which comes with the camera.  The charger is also compact and easy to use.Be careful when selecting a memory card, as this compact camera uses a compact-sized memory card.  We got the wrong one the first time around.

Comments about Sony - Cyber-shot DSC-W30:

I bought the Sony Cyber shot digital camera for my mom who up until recently refused to use a digital camera b/c of "how complicated" they are.  This camera is simple for her to use and get great pictures with.  The price is very reasonable as well.

One Word, Amazing!

Comments about Sony - Cyber-shot DSC-W30:

Sony Cyber-Shots are amazing!  Mine is an 8 megapixel with 5x optical zoom.  I love it.  I got it before a trip to boston and was so delighted with the quality of pictures and filming.  It captured clear pictures on a whale watching trip as well as excellent video.  One negative is you can't adjust the zoom once you start recording.  Other than that, this camera has preformed beautifully in very close up and distant shots.

Excellent pictures

Comments about Sony - Cyber-shot DSC-W30:

I bought my Sony Cyber-Shot last year with my taxes. I've used it almost everyday since and have had some beautiful pictures come from it! I wanted to make sure I had a low cost camera yet one that took great pictures. I found that in this camera! I love the size of the LCD screen and I also like that it comes with a rechargable battery, buying standard size batteries runs into some money and they usually don't last long. That's not an issue that you have to deal with when you have this camera. It also takes memory cards to expand the amount of pictures that you can take. I have bought two cards and now when I go on vacation or have a special occasion that I need to capture pictures, I'm all prepared. This camera has many different functions like video, black/white picture taking, sepia, color, with or without flash. The list goes on and on. It's an all around wonderful camera and well worth every cent! I would highly recommend it!

Everything is great, except the flash

Comments about Sony - Cyber-shot DSC-W30:

This Sony CyberShot digital camera seems to work well, and is quite convenient. I take pictures constantly, so I like that it's small enough to take with me everywhere and it turns on quickly so I can take pictures quickly. 6.0 megapixels for great picture quality and a good-sized screen.

Only problem is the flash. I call this my 'day camera' because shooting things in low light or at night is tricky. In those situations, the flash is either non-existent or it's way too much, causing a white-out effect. (I'm no expert with this, so maybe there's a way to alter the flash settings??) Also, the mode wheel is quite sensitive (it can change from Auto to Program if your finger brushes it) Other than that, it's a great little camera.
