I purchased the Canon Rebel XTi just after Christmas and never looked back. This camera is the business! I had owned a Canon SLR 30 years ago and it went everywhere with me for years, it was functional and indestructible. The digital cameras I bought in the last 8 years or so never gave me the same… read full review »

it's big, ok, but the pixels are so so big and the colors so inaccurate. When in the field, it's impossible to say if the focus is right or not. Makes me strongly think about bringing it back. — — The Nikon D300 will have 922k pixels, the Canon 30D only 230k!!!!… read full review »

We needed a better camera for the college newspaper. Those throw away cameras at Walgreens just weren't cutting it. OK. I'm kidding (to some degree). We had some old 35mm cameras and a low end digital (which happens to be a camera I really love). These were not really cutting it when making professional photos to be printed in batches of 1000. — I had been using an old Canon SLR for years at home, so I was inclined to look at the Canon line. Anyone looking at higher end digital cameras is bound to stumble across information about the Rebel XTis. The… read full review »

I have now owned my Canon Rebel xTi for about 3 months and I do not leave home without it. I use it for both work and play - as I am a Realtor and constantly shooting photos of homes and land and as a mother of 4 I am taking a lot of photos of my kids. This year my oldest is a senior in High School and I just finished 'supplementing' her senior portraits with a few taken by ME! My canon makes it so easy to add a filter here / and a filter there for the right effects both indoors and out that I couldn't help myself. I also use the 'sports' feature quite often when attending… read full review »

I was really tied to film cameras, and to Nikon in particular. I finally decided that the money I was spending on film and the time it took to scan my prints onto my computer could both be saved by going digital. —  I did a LOT of research, and I finally chose the Rebel XTI. I am so glad that I did! The ease of use is great, and the pictures are amazing. The quality, color and clarity of the pictures from this camera far surpasses any camera I have ever used. — If you love to take pictures and you really care about how they turn out, I highly recommend this camera. I just got this camera in Feb.2008, (my first DSLR) and haven't put it down since! I'm in love! It takes beautiful, high quality photographs, with practically no delay between shots. It has great features, and the learning curve isn't as hard as I thought it would be. It's a pretty user friendly camera for a DSLR! I highly recommend it!… read full review »

I am a photography major at the University of California at Berkeley.  I bought the Canon EOS 400/ Rebel Xti because it was the most popular camera being sold at Best Buy.  But I soon learned that not only was it popular, but it also took GREAT, FANTASTIC! pictures.  The zoom is amazing, way better than your regular point and shoot cameras.  I believe with all my photography experience the best photographs have been taken with a Canon.  I strongly recommend switching if you do not already use it.  The screen is really clear, it is easy to use.  The… read full review »

This is an outstanding dSLR camera.  The automatic settings allow for it to function just like a point and shoot style, however the picture quality is far beyond the entire point and shoot class.  —  The Rebel XTi is feature rich and simple to use.  People who want to step up from a pocket camera will find the Rebel XTi fast becoming their best friend.  — It is solidly built. Fit and finish were top notch.  The controls were right where I expected them to be with only one exception.  The dial wheel that controls the manual exposure requires… read full review »

We purchased our Rebel XTi in August and in November loaned it to a friend.  Up until then, we'd had no troubles with the camera but it didn't work when we got it back and were disappointed to discover our friend tried to put the CF card in backwards forwards and upside down.  The pins were broken and so we sent it in for repairs fully expecting to pay for our service.  We were very honest and admitted that we knew that the item was not a factory problem but a user problem but it was repaired under warranty and we had it back within one week of shipping to them.  —… read full review »

The Canon is the best EOS for the money I could find.   I really love the picture quality that this camera affords.  It was a great step up from my Sony - whose images were often sub-par.  What I will say is that the Sony features on the dial were so much more evident and user-friendly...that I was a little taken back by the lack of user-friendly features on this one.  After reading the manual for several items, I was fine...but I am not used that!  I can usually figure things out without that.  In any case, it takes a great picture and captures the moment… read full review »

We bought this camera for use in our workplace, specifically to photograph still items for Client review and for advertisements. The camera is very easy to use and provides excellent photographs. For example: If there is a fleece headband to be photographed, the detail of the material will show up in the photo, and the Client will be able to clearly review the product they have chosen. We have also done some excellent poster-sized advertisements for our promotional products using this camera for the photos. I am not a professional photographer, but this is really a great camera even for… read full review »

When I used several point and shoot Digital cameras they were nice, but I missed the ability to control what I did with my pictures like in the film days.  Now that I've purchased the Canon XTi I am back in the saddle again.  If I want to use it as a point and shoot, I can but I can also control what settings I want to if I choose to.  Definitely well worth the money and of course one always needs more than one lens other than the basic.  The telephoto is a must have also.  Great… read full review »

This camera is great! I went to photography school many years ago when digital was just coming out. So I was a little skeptical when it came to buying a digital. I was happy with my SLR 35mm. Until I finally was sick of developing 10 rolls of film at a time! I now upload alomst 300 photos a month and I couldn't be happier. The delay is almost non exsistent. I haven't taken a photo with a child running away yet! Recommend this to any amatuer photographer or the novice that loves a great… read full review »

I absolutely love the Rebel. It provides professional quality pictures of everything from still pictures to action pictures. Many times I have gone to pick up my pictures at a one hour provider and they always want to know what kind of camera I use to get such great shots.  It is user friendly, very simple to use once you get accustomed to it and really does take great pictures.  After having my digital camera I hardly ever touch the SLR on my shelf. … read full review »

My boyfriend bought me this camera last Christmas and I love it!!!! I spent 6 months searching for a camera--this was the one that I wanted, but it was a bit pricey, so he waited and bought it for me.  —  The quality of the pictures this camera takes is AWESOME!!!!!!  They're really professional looking and just GREAT!!!!! I couldn't be happier with the quality. — I am of those people who hates reading manuals so I didn't and I don't have any problems using the camera at all.  — I love the battery life on this camera.  It lasts and lasts and… read full review »
