Comments about Nikon - D700 Digital Camera:

I recently upgraded from the Nikon d80 and I am very happy I did. I am a long time Nikon user starting off with a Nikon film camera back in high school.  I have always liked Nikon and was pleased to be able to use my old film lenses with my new digital camera. Plus since it has a sensor almost the size of 35mm film it can use my film lenses nearly to their original specs. One of the most impressive features is its performance under low lighting conditions.  Whether I like it or not I am often caught in less than ideal lighting situations and do not or cannot use a flash.  I can often combine high ISO and minimum shutter speed to create excellent photographs.  Another perk is the size of the LCD screen.  It is easy to determine exposure and composition from the LCD screen making it a breeze to use in fast paced situations.  However it is also refined enough to use to perfect studio shots. It stands up to the competition and can battle it out with even professional cameras.  It is more compact and affordable than the eralier d3.  Technically speaking it features:

12.1-megapixel FX-format (23.9 x 36mm) CMOS sensor

3.0-inch, 920,000-dot VGA color monitor; 170-degree wide-angle viewing and tempered-glass protection

Fast, accurate 51-point AF system; 3D Focus Tracking and two Live View shooting modes

Base ISO range from 200-6400 can be expanded to range from ISO 100 (Lo-1) to 25,600 (Hi-2); 0.12-second start-up speed

Capture images to CF I/II cards; compliant high-speed UDMA CF cards that will enable recording speeds up to 35 megabytes/second

Comments about Nikon - D700 Digital Camera:

upgraded from a d80 and WOW what a difference!!!! The iso capabilities on the d700 will blow your mind, as will the full frame and 95% view finder......

The body is well made and the pop up flash helps in those sticky situations where you dont want to lug around a speedlight... I also highly reccomend getting a battery grip.. I use the zeikos and works very well..The added benefit of having more FPS and battery power come in handy, and it also balances the d700 out well when a 70-200 is attached....

Have fun this camera is perfect

Comments about Nikon - D700 Digital Camera:

Nikon D700 digital camera makes pictures that are crisp and bright. I love my camera and being able to have pictures of my famly and friends that really look like them. There is nothing worse than taking pictures of people and having them turn out looking horrible. With this camera you have no worries of that happening. Try it you will love it.

Best sub-pro camera

Comments about Nikon - D700 Digital Camera:

This is the best sub-professional grade camera anyone can find.

Its better than the Canon 5D II, better than even the Nikno d3. And it's sold for a fraction of the price.

I have owned this body for over 2 months now and have taken about 2000 pictures.

The build of the the camera, first of all, is very solid, with weather sealing, so it will withstand good amount of adverse weather. when you hold it in your hand it feels like it's very substantial.

After owning 2 DX Nikon camera, I was ready to move to FX. The D700 was an excellent choice for me for two main reasons:

1. full frame means that all my wide angle and ultrawide angles are back! The 17-35 was render as a regular normal zoom, while the 35-70 was rendered pretty much useless with the zoon range of 50-100. Now that it's FX they are once again useful.

2. The high ISO performance is bar none. Not even the newest D7000 dx camera with unprecedented good iso response can compare. I can shoot at ISO 4000 with impunity!

This is the best camera out there!

Comments about Nikon - D700 Digital Camera:

The ISO can go up so high and still look amazing! I can practicly take pictures in the dark. The shutter speed goes way fast and I can get it open to 1.8! I love this camera. It's light and easy to use. Definitely worth paying a lot.
