Nikkon D90 is fabulous! I'm new to this, still learning/wanna-be photog. I take it everywhere these days, though it makes me nervous b/c for me, this is an expensive camera, and now I am uber-careful and I make sure I transport it in the bag, safe and sound! So I also take along my little basic digital Sony point & click camera when I know I will be distracted or sneaking quick photos of the kids on the go b/c the little Sony can fit in my pocket, unlike the D90, which is much bigger and robust. So yes, the D90 is a bit heavy if you are not used to a "real" camera. And by the way, I dropped...
review »The Nikon D90 is on the cutting edge of digital photography. This camera is great for the amateur as well as the semi-professional. It can be used fully automatic, or with a combination of manual settings for the desired result.
With 12mp, pictures are sharp, and auto-focus takes the guess-work out of the equation. In manual mode, you can adjust f-stops and shutter speed, as well as ISO. This gives a wide range of options for varying lighting conditions.
Instructions are easy to understand. With in-camera editing, you can retouch pictures, remove red-eye, adjust color balance, as well...
review »My fiancee and I bought this camera in February 2009 and have been nothing but impressed with the quality. We have used it to take numerous nature shots during various vacations and the detail on the photos with the highest resolution is absolutely outstanding. Even when viewing them on a 52'' high-definition television screen, the pictures are perfectly clear without a bit of grainyness.
This camera can be difficult to use at first as it takes some getting used to, especially if you are like me and have only ever used a basic point and shoot digital camera before. The quality is worth the effort...
review »This is by far the best camera ever, in my opinion. It's a no-brainer. It actually tells you what the best settings are. It fits perfect in your hand. Even professionals use this camera, and with it you can take pictures just like a professional. The photos are amazing. Long ago you had to waste film with continuous shot-taking in order to get the perfect timing on an action shot. But with this camera you can take continuous shots and simply delete the ones around it that you don't want. I looove digital memory cards, but the best pictures come out on film, with one exception- this camera! You...
review »My Nikon DSLR is quite a camera! I like that having NEVER used a DSLR before, I was able to pick up this camera and start shooting away. Okay, so a common mantra of mine is to say, "I need to read the manual still!" but I can fake it when I need to... Depending on what you are used to, this camera can be heavy. I moved from a digital Nikon Minolta to the Nikon D90 and it is much heavier and I've had to purchase a new camera bag. This is NOT a camera that you can stick into your pocket or purse (I've tried LOL!) and with the lens, it can get a bit bulky. My main problem is...
review »I purchased my Nikon D90 just before departure for a trip to Costa Rica. Even with no experience with a digital SLR my first picture was splendid. With the DVD from Nikon and the "Quick Start" manual I was able to get into the camera features using the simple instructions. In short order, using the full manual and its easy-to follow instructions I was able to take excellent wildlife, scenery, portrait and action shots. There is a learning curve and after two months of ownership and regular use even I can see an incredible potential for this camera. Whether you are a total novice as I was...
review »I "retired" my 35mm film camera several years ago in favor of the instant gratification of digital. After purchasing and using several point and shoot digital cameras, I decided to splurge on the Nikon D90. I have not regretted a single second of it. The photos are almost professional quality. I have not shot less than 100 photos at any given time. With 7 grandchildren, I needed something that would enable me to take as many photos as I could. This camera is comparible if not better in every single aspect as my old 35mm camera. The fact that you can purchase additional lenses and...
review »Just received the Nikon D90 for as a gift. The purchase was made on the recommendation of a friend who has extensive experience with Nikon, and had just upgraded from a D60 to the 90. I had 24 hours to attempt to learn the camera before traveling to Lijiang, China. The camera is a dream - in full auto mode it is virtually idiot proof and the picture quality is awesome, which makes it unnecessary to learn the manual modes. Light capture in dim situations is far superior to my prior experience with a traditional, i.e. film, SLR and makes the use of flash unnecessary in the majority of situations...
review »Have you ever wonder how the professionals photographs look so good. Well I did and the answer is in the camera you use. I have bought a lot of cameras in my life and taken lots of pictures but none ever looked as good as when I take them with my nikon camera. You can take two identical pictures with two different cameras and the high end digital camera will outdo a low end camera everytime. There are no words to explain the quality difference. You can take still pictures as well as moving pictures The quality is superb. I love taking pictures of my dogs with this camera. You always get that perfect...
review »I begged my husband for a new digital camera prior to our trip to Europe earlier in the year. I have always wanted a DSLR camera, and had my heart set on a Nikon D200/300. Of course after I found out I couldn't afford either one of those, I did some more homework and learned that the D90 is JUST AS GOOD as the D300!!!!
The camera is truly amazing, if you know what you are doing. And if you don't, the AUTO setting right out of the box, will take amazing close-up shots, outdoor shots, indoor shots!
