The Sony nex 3n is a great camera. It takes beautiful fast pictures. It's very user friendly. I'm not a photographer and I like a camera with easy features that takes great pictures. This does that for me but it seems professional for a small camera too for the pros. It has a lot of features I haven't even tried yet. They are easy to use though. It also has a viewer that turns backwards for selfies.

If you want a very small, high res camera with high quality images - you want this camera. This camera is HD video capable and it has a full user guide built in to the camera. It is small and light enough to take with you everywhere.

I am trying to review the sony nex-5 which is the best thing since sliced bread. While the only down side to the nex-3 is 720p non magnesium body which would make this plasticy feeling. Also sony has discontinued this camera. Aside from those downsides, the cool features are interchangeable lens (E Mount) which is now an open format, but I have yet to see any manufacturers come out with any lenses other than sony. You can use alternate lens adaptors which will let you use the lens but you will have you manual focus. Also the battery life will go pretty quick im glad I have 2 batteries but I suggest stocking up as these puppies eat batteries. The screen is moveable which is nice and in pure sunlight you can see the lcd screen. This does not have a viewfinder which isnt a big deal. The panoramic sweep and 3d sweep are a sight to be seen. Lastly the video quality is by far the best if you dont want a camcorder just buy this you will be happy and it supports SDHC!!! as sony never ever supported another format other than their own. oh yeah it has HDR so it takes under exposed over exposed and gives you photo quality goodness

So i've been an avid Canon Powershot user (point and shoot). Then I lost my interest in taking photos since I dont' travel that often anymore. Taking phot of the family takes in place only under special occasion, outddor phtos are not great either. Then, one day, I heard about this SONY NEX camera. SONY's goal was to have consumers who are done with point and shoot camera, but not quite ready for DSLR. I considered moving to DSLR, but that was just too...., you know what I mean, bulky. Camera should be portable, especially for amateurs like myself. Then I gave this NEX a shot. It was a new to me, so lens concept was totally nonsense to me. However, I quickly understood the beauty of exchangeable lenses. This is a great camera for a novice or experts a like. A good transition from Point and Shoot to lens-exchange camera.
