***Quick View:*** I heard from a friend about these little air fresheners and had to try one. Now I have four in my home and want more! These little battery operated air fresheners allow me to enjoy any home fragrance oil scent I want and to turn the fragrance on and off. No flames and no outlets needed make these cute fresheners a favorite ion our home.

***My Take on Slatkin & Co. SCENTBUG Home Fragrance Oil Fan***

These fans are little stand alone domes that come in a variety of colors as well as wood tones, apples, bats, and other styles. They come out with new ones for each holiday! They are operated by two included AA batteries with a life of 75 hours.

The domes have a little drawer that pulls out where you put a cotton pad (One is included, more are very inexpensive) in and then add your choice of any home fragrance oils. A few drops for strong oils, a bit more for subtle ones. You can even mix the oils together for a homemade scent.

Just push the button and a little fan forces the scent up and around the room. There is no need to plug these Scentbugs in or to light them like a candle which, for me, is perfect. I have limited outlets and too many pets to be completely comfortable with candles unless I am right there watching to be sure one of the cats doesn't get into trouble.

The **Slatkin & Co. SCENTBUG Home Fragrance Oil Fan** is small and can fit almost anywhere. There are colors to go with any decor of just buy a fun color to accent a room. I bought purple, of course, for my bedroom and have a blue one in my living room, a white one in my bathroom, and my son has a black one in his room. I am buying a wood tone one for my office.

I like that these send subtle fragrance around the room and never get hot. I can turn them on and off and they do give off a nice subtle scent. Depending on the oil I use, I get just a hint of fragrance or a nice burst. These fresheners can't scent a huge room but are good for smaller rooms and for areas of rooms.

I love mine and will continue to stock up on a variety of oils to change scents on a whim. The batteries last for ages and I only need a few drops of oil.

***My Viewpoint***

I really like my **Slatkin & Co. SCENTBUG Home Fragrance Oil Fans**. They don't give off super amounts of fragrance but they do scent small rooms. My bedroom always smells awesome when I walk in. The bathroom smells fresh and clean. I have a variety of oils I use and I do note that some give more scent than others so I use stronger ones in the larger living room. I would need two to totally scent that room but one is fine for a light continuous fragrance. And these scents don't bother my allergies. ***4 stars***. I would love for these fresheners to be just a bit more powerful and then they would be 5 star products!

I decided to try a Scentbug after seeing that they were 50% off and they had one that was pink and had rhinestones (it goes perfectly in my room). I really liked the concept of the scentbug, because most of my outlets are sideways or upside down and can't use the regular wallflowers. This cute little 'bug' seemed like the perfect fix. I was so excited to get home and try it, but was soon disappointed. I put the oil on the little cotton round and turned on the fan. It was super quiet (which was great), but I could not smell it unless I was really close to it. I purchased a strong cinnamon oil, which should have been powerful and spread but did not. I was disappointed, but put it on the table where I sit most of the time so I could smell it. I would just turn it on when I was sitting next to it, and after only a few days (a couple hours each day) the batteries were dead. I replaced them and found that they died again quickly. I would recommend this only for looks.

Comments about Slatkin & Co. Scentbug Home Fragrance Oil Fan:

Once my sons started crawling, (they are now 5 and 6), I'd resigned myself to living in a house that smelled like a house with young boys. Now candles.... :(  I also live in a 100 year-old house where electricity was  added after it was built, so I don't have many electical outlets in my home, so electrical plug in "scenters" were not an option. I was truly bummed.

Then a friend bought me a scent bug. Suddenly, my world started smelling better. :)  This thing is awesome. It's small, unobtrusive, and... Well... Cute.  It's plastic and runs on batteries. There's a little tray that pops out and you put scented oil on a pad on the tray. Push it back in, push the button, and you're good to go. How easy (and safe) is that?

Lately, my 6 year-old, whose job it is to clean the kitty box, has become a huge fan of the Scentbug. He's place it right next to the cat box, so if the kitty has "done his business" right before cleaning time, my son turns it on so it doesn't "stink so bad!"  I have to admit, it does help in that department!  My son's obsession with the Scentbug has also allowed me to judge its battery usage. I can tell you that batteries last for quite a while in it. (My son has a tendency to leave it on.)

Overall, a great little gadget!

Smells Amazing! Drains Battery Quickly.

By

Comments about Slatkin & Co. Scentbug Home Fragrance Oil Fan:

We have a couple of these scattered throughout our house and my family loves the variety of scents that you can get to put in them.  They are easy to use and smell absolutely amazing.  Because they are portable and it is so easy to change the scents, we don't become 'used' to the smells in the same way we do with the 'plugins' that run all the time. The Scentbug doesn't need a flame or an outlet to plug into so it is easy to place it anywhere around your house. The biggest drawback is that the fan can be a little too noisy (unless you like white noise) and the battery wears down quickly.  It would be nice if they had an 'auto shut-off' feature to save the battery life.  Once the scent on the internal pad stops working I often forget that I turned the Scentbug on so it runs until the battery dies!  On a positive note, the bottles of scented oil last for a long time so these are cost effective and work great!  I would definitely recommend this product to other people.

I love my Slatkin & Co. Scentbug Home Frangrance Oil Fan!

By

from Cambridge, MA

Comments about Slatkin & Co. Scentbug Home Fragrance Oil Fan:

I love my Slatkin and Co. Scentbug Home Frangrance Oil Fan!  I bought it at Bath and Body Works which is the only place I have ever seen it for sale.  It was on sale for around fifty percent off or I might not have even bought it.  I am really glad that I did though because it has been great.  The Slatkin and Co. Scentbug Home Frangrance Oil Fan, or Scentbug, comes with three pads to put oil on and batteries.  You store the extra pads in the bottom compartment.  I have had it for a while now, around 3 months, and I just barely had to replace the batteries.  You need frangrance oils to put in the Scentbug and you have to buy them separately.  It would be nice if they came with because the oils can be a little pricey.  If you buy them at the same time as the Scentbug, you get a discount.  That's if you buy the full price Scentbug, not the ones on sale.  The best thing about the Scentbug is that there is no flame so I don't have to worry about my kids getting a hold of it.  I would definitely recommend it!

The Scentbug smells so good!

By

Comments about Slatkin & Co. Scentbug Home Fragrance Oil Fan:

I bought a Scentbug to put on my desk at work. I work in the healthcare field so occassionally I have smelly people at my desk. lol. I got a really cute hot pink one and love it! It's so cute and people have no idea what it is. One flip of the button and it's on and helping things smell better! I'm going to buy rechargeable batteries for it that way I don't have to keep replacing the batteries. I thought the batteries lasted a reasonable amount of time. Granted i don't use it all day every day, but very reasonable battery life. I loved that you can so easily change the scent. Just put a new white disc in it with the new scent on it and walaa! That way you can easily have a different scent daily if you would like. I only have 2 scents currently, cinnamon and cloves for fall and winter and strawberry patch for spring and summer. I love both scents, they are very yummy! I have already reccomended this products to a friend.

Comments about Slatkin & Co. Scentbug Home Fragrance Oil Fan:

I have to say the scent is very strong, and it can fill up a room fast which is GREAT!

BUT it does not last LONG at ALL!! I was shocked because I think it was gone in a week. I'm not sure if there is a refill, but a week is WAY too short.. good thing I got it on sale.

VERY LOUD!!!!!!!

Comments about Slatkin & Co. Scentbug Home Fragrance Oil Fan:

**Bought this at bath and body works.. the ones in the store were awesome.. Brought it home, added oil turned it on and it smelled awesome. Worked great after about five minutes it started being really noisy. An irritating loudness that overcame any fragrance it emitted. Now I have to bring it back and see if another one will work any better. **

**Beware: Kinda junky!**

Scentbug is a wonderful gift for everyone from 9 to 99!

Comments about Slatkin & Co. Scentbug Home Fragrance Oil Fan:

When I first heard about Bath & Body Works' Scentbug I decided to pick one up for my college-aged son. This was Fall of 2009, and when I got to my local store I found that they were completely wiped out of them. Apparently, all it took was one teacher bringing a Scentbug into her classroom as she set it up for the new school year and all of the other teachers had to have one for their classroom, too! I was glad to hear of the success of the Scentbug, but I was forced to order one for my son online, and he got it for Christmas instead of when he initially decorated his dorm room in the Fall. I believe I ended up getting him a black one - He loved it! . At the time, there were some pretty basic colors - red, blue, white, yellow, black. Since then I have seen a great tortoise-shell colored Scentbug, and I've seen pastels, too.

The fan inside the Scentbug runs on batteries. There's a little drawer that slides open so you can put a few drops of fragrance oil on the included cotton pad. Close the drawer, turn it on, and the fan works to quickly spread your favorite scent throughout the room. As with the oil burners, you're free to use any combination of scented home fragrance oils to create your own customized scents. Eventually you will need to replace the cotton pad inside, but Bath & Body Works sells refill packages.

A scentbug, a couple of fragrance oils and a package of extra pads makes a great gift for nearly anyone. You can quietly run it on your desk at the office, in your home, your dorm room, your classroom at school - they're portable and fun. They're ideal for college students as a form of aromatherapy, since candles and oil burners are prohibited as fire hazards. One issue is battery life. There's no need to run it for hours. After the scent is dispersed, give it a rest before you forget and leave it running!

Pros and Cons

By

from Redmond, WA

Comments about Slatkin & Co. Scentbug Home Fragrance Oil Fan:

This is much safer than the oil diffusers that use a candle.  I like the ease of it, but I didnt realize when I bought it that the oil would go on a pad.  You can only use a pad for one scent.  I like to switch scents alot.  The storage at the bottom is only good for new pads or the old pad makes all the new pads smell like that scent.  I like that this is easy to use at the push of a buttom and I tend to move it around the house.  The candle kind cant be moved very easily.  I bought this for my workplace as well and my boss who hates scents hasnt said anything negitive. Its nice to be able to control the scent so easily

If you don't own a scentbug you're missing out!

By

from Rockville, MD

Comments about Slatkin & Co. Scentbug Home Fragrance Oil Fan:

I have tried using so many different types of room scenters: plug ins, sprays, timed sprays, candles... and I've never been too pleased with any of them. I looked at the scentbug numerous times, but could not justify buying it since I figured it would join my other home scent products in the junk drawer.

Luckily, a scentbug was included in one of the promotional totes that I purchased from Bath and Body Works. I was pleasantly surprised in how wonderful it made my house smell and how easy it was to use- you pop out a drawer where you place a pad and a few drops of oil. You close the door, turn it on, and a little fan blows the scent out into the air. There are an incredible number of choices for scents and the oil lasts for a really long time. The scentbug is also cute and doesn't take up a whole lot of space. And since it runs on batteries, you don't have to worry about flames from candles or your children trying to remove a plug in from the electrical outlet!

My four year old was so obsessed with my scentbug that I bought him one of his own. He brings it out and sits it next to his brother when I have to change a dirty diaper and I have to say that it does help! I am also impressed with the battery life. Our scentbug is constantly on since our preschooler loves the little machine and I hardly ever have to replace batteries.

I love these little bugs and am planning on getting a few to give as Christmas presents this year.
