Maybe I'd like Vera's Sweet Comfort Mattress if I could eat it!

Overall
Rated 2 out of 5

To the PointWe recently bought the Sweet Comfort Mattress made for Vera Wang by Serta. The model number is VW00545. We did this after I researched what foam (Tempur-Pedic, for example) is made from (petroleum) and decided that a latex mattress was more natural. It's made from rubber trees.

We had tried out so many mattresses that we thought we were comfortable with a purchase of a mattress selling at retail of $3999 and with discounts $1999.

We slept on it for two weeks. One night, my husband, hannasdad, pushed me over saying that I was on his side. Sure enough I was on his side and felt as if I had to climb over to my side.

For $2,000 I want to feel great in the morning. The mat...

I have owned my Vera Wang bed for 5 years. I echo every comment made by all of the other reviewers, starts out so comfortable but body indents and sagging just get terrible. In fact I was sitting in bed, came upon this website and could not believe what I was reading. YES, I'm not crazy!! I am sitting in the middle because that is the last comfy place on this bed (or the very foot of the bed). We have a Cal king and did at one time turn the bad so we were actually sleeping across the bed because our entire top layer shifted and squished down almost immediately. My husband has back issues which have really gotten worse over this last year and I have literally developed a pain in the neck and shoulder, "Could our bed be the cause of this?". Now I am seriously thinking about a new bed. We did splurge on this one and I don't want to get burned again.

Promising, but then a big let down...

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

Prior to owning this mattress I had a Land and Sky queen latex foam mattress that was amazing. I have had that bed for 5 years, but needed a bigger mattress. I bought a Vera Wang Latex/foam mattress memorial day weekend of 2010. My wife and I bought it for around $1,500 and slept like babies when we first got it. Now it is a different story. the bed sags on the side and is still fine in the middle. My wife and I tend to fight over the middle because it is the most comfortable spot on the bed. In the 5 years I slept on the Land and Sky queen mattress, I never had a poor nights sleep, and never woke up with back/neck/shoulder pain from sleeping on it. It seems like every morning I wak...

Like sleeping on a cloud, till it sags...

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

My wife and I are on our second Vera Wang now, after the first was warrantied by Serta at a delivery cost of 150$, not to mention the 1800 dollars to purchase the bed. Come to find out the bed had a surface height difference of nearly 3 inches. This sag was after just 1 years, and we put up with it for 3 more achy years for a total of 4 years. In all honesty it was great for about the first 6 months. Then the sag continued to get worse and worse, I would frequently wake up in the middle of the night with a cold dead arm due the un-supportive mattress. My wife described sleeping on the super saggy matress as "sleeping in a coffin". It was still soft and supportive in the m...

over 2' body imprints on both sides in less than 2 yrs. 160lbs

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

We puchased our Vera Wang Serta less than 2 years ago.  It has 2" body imprints on both sides of the bed.   My husband and I weigh between 155 and 170...normal for our heights.  Serta refused to cover the mattress warranty due to a quarter sized stain on the very bottom corner of the bed near the seams.  What does that have to due with the body impressions?  You're right, absolutely nothing.  We have had our Europa (now in the spare bedroom) for almost 6 years and it just like new.  Our opinion: don't buy a Serta Vera Wang bed no matter how nice it feels in the store, it's not worth the investment.  You'll be buying another $1600 King mattress within 2 years.

HATE THIS MATTRESS!!! NOT WORTH THE MONEY!! We bought the Serta Vera Wang Love Mattress 4 years ago & at first love, love, loved it.  After 4 months it started to slump on both sides.  We took it back under warranty & "upgraded" for an additional $200.00.  This new mattress at first was great for 6 months but it now also slumps on both sides.  We are literally sleeping in a whole.  We are not even able to cuddle next to each other because the center of the bed (about a 2 foot strip) is as firm as the day we bought it. You have to "climb up" out of the whole. Because it sinks in the middle, we toss & turn all night, ou...

Worse than terrible

Dont buy this mattress! We bought it off my sister and her husband when it was only about 2 wks used! He is very picky and determined he did not like it so we snagged it for 1/2 of what they paid. However, I will stick to the conventional spring mattress from now on!!!! Only Mattress Warehouse for me....nothing else. This thing sucks. 2 big indentations on each end where me & my husband sleep with a raised up section in the middle. I will try to hang with this thing for at least another couple years (if I can) to try to get some of my money out of it but then it is back to a conventional mattress for me.

It wont last the 10 year warranty you will be lucky if you get half the warranty out of it. I had to get mine replaced after the 3rd year the first time and the second year the second. The silicon mattress is a complete waste of money.

I purchased the silicon mattress and I have had it replaced twice during the warranty period and it failed again with in the warranty. It is nothing but a hassel to get them to warranty there product plus you have to pay for it. It took 3 months to get them to swap my mattress. I still have 2 years left on my warranty and I threw it in the trash and bought a Teper pedic and I sleep so much better.

Wish I was able to choose 'no stars'

Overall

I'll just support some of the other negative reviews with points already made. While initially I was expecting a semi-firm mattress, fresh out of the box and the sales person seemed to push the fact that it was a "firm" mattress, it turns into garbage after about 8-12 months. Sagging, sleeping in a canoe is how I would best describe this mattress. While you are trying to sleep if you have any need to move side to side or roll or sleep on your stomach, this mattress will hurt. I'm currently trying to get it replaced, which seems like a chore from the company, and turning it into a guest bed, and purchasing a new innerspring.

Fall Into the Clouds

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

This is the ultimate mattress.  Vera Wang by Serta was voted the best mattress to sleep on in 2007.  After hearing this, I was convinced enough to give it a try.   A minute later, I knew I would never want to own anything else.  Unfortunatley, I moved cross country and had to leave it behind.  I still have dreams about dreaming on this mattress.  It was just that good!  Also, while these are quite expensive and they are well worth it if you have the money to spend, you can also find them at a select few outlets where you can purchase a mattress that has been a store model (that's what I did and saved almost $3000)!

Vera Wang by Serta is a lousy product.

Overall

We purchased the king version of this matters 6 months ago. I'm an normal sized man 5'11" 175lbs and have traveled for business my whole life life. I've slept on countless beds, and on occasion at airport cots. The "Vera Wang by Serta Sweet Comfort Mattress" is the worst mattress I have ever slept on, yes even worse then airport cots. The mattress already has a depression where you lay that does not come back. Paid over $2,000 and it's shot in only 6 months! I have never had back pain but now I wake up sore every morning. The depression is like sleeping inside a spoon. On your side it's semi tolerable if you decide to sleep on your stomach it's so uncomfortable that it makes it unable to sleep. **DO NOT BUY THIS MATTRESS!!!! **

Don't buy it, big rip off

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

When I first purchased this mattress it was very comfortable but within a few weeks it maintained a depression where I had slept. I have now owned it for 8 months and the depression is so deep my cat sleeps in it like a cradle and he very comfortable in the hole. I tried to get the chain store to replace the mattress under the warranty but they refused since it has a pillow top which does not deflate. The depression is in the layers of foam under the pillow top. They measure the depression with a piece of string stretched over the top of the mattress from side to side and do not even feel for the deep depression in the foam so they claim it does not have the 1 1/2 dent. I can assure yo...

Sags, uncomfortable, no satisfaction from Serta

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

We bought this mattress two years ago. It was comfortable in the beginning, but now sinks where we sleep. We are not overweight. My husband was training for a marathon and ended up with an upper hamstring pain. My hips have started hurting and actually would hurt when I got up and down during the day. We called serta but the impressions were 1" deep, not the 1 1/2" required for them to help us. In the meantime I have traveled for work and found the beds in the hotel do not effect my hips. My husband also was traveling with the same results. This was an expensive bed and absolutely the worst buy of my life. The fact that Serat will not support a return or exchange only adds to my displeasure with this company.

What a total waste of money

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

Yeah I will agree that at first, like the first week, it was like sleeping on a cloud.  Then the sag started.  Now it's like sleeping in a taco shell.  Way too much money for such a poor product.  I guess Vera Wang and Serta are laughing all the way to the bank.  The mattress is two years old and I stopped sleeping on it a year ago.  I now sleep on the couch since I don't have another $2,000+ to drop on a mattress.  When I went mattress shopping, I went with my best friend who also bought the same mattress and has the same problem.  We both can't wait to get new ones.  She jokes that her cat's afraid of falling into the hole so now won't go on her bed.  Buyer beware.  All your paying for is the name and maybe some bragging rights, you trade off being comfortable and having durability.

Absolutely Avoid Vera Wang Mattress By Serta

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

Absolutely the very worst mattress I have ever slept on.  The negative reviews you may have read, BELIEVE THEM!  Avoid this mattress like the plague.  The mattress materials deform very easily to form two nice depressions on each side of the mattress with a high spot in the middle.  Not only do you feel like you're sleeping in a hammock, it feels like you are in a hammock and about to roll off the side.  When Serta says they allow 1-1/2" sagging, they mean it.  The worst part is that they are not even honest and ethical about this measurement.  They simply but a yard stick from the center of the mattress to the edge and measure the void.  But this comp...
