The Best Phone of my life!

5

I can say for sure that it's the best phone I've ever had. The features are great, is very beautiful and easy to use. I installed a 16 Gb micro SD memory card type 4 and works perfectly. I have all my main email accounts, social webs, Skype, all I need and some extra applications and I'm very happy with it. Is very fast phone. I only suggest that when you have WiFi connection available and if your data plan is not very big, you can disable data plan on configuration and use WiFi while you can. Updates can consume a lot of your mb data plan in just minutes. And always carry your usb cable with you because while using data it consumes a lot of your battery...but that normally happens with all the smart phones I've had. But if you want to take pics, this phone is great too. Even if the camera is only 5 mp, the quality of the photography is really good and the led flash light makes the room very bright so the taken picture is even better than average.

The Samsung Focus is a "SMART" phone.

5

I must rate this phone with 5 stars because it is a very beautiful smartphone with alot of great features. Battery Life The battery for the Samsung Focus is pretty good . I do alot of texting and keep my phone on all of the time. I do have to charge it daily but that is due to my heavy use of texting and staying on the phone for longer than average times. My kids love to play games on it as well to help contribute to the battery needing to be charged daily. Display/Screen Quality Very bright and crisp. It can be adjusted. I love being able to have my contacts and favorite places on the screen. It has been dropped many times but has not cracked so I think that it is of high quality. Call Quality I have to adjust the phone by turning it down for privacy. It picks up the other end great. It is quite loud and I do not need to put the phone on speaker or my ear to hear the person on the other end. I do however hear alot from people that I am on the phone with that it is very loud and they can hear the kids,tv,dogs barking, ect very well.I do however have an issue with just one thing and that is that I tend to accidently hand up on someone with my cheek when I am holding the phone with my shoulder while my hands are in use like doing dishes or cooking. Ease of Use This phone is one of the easiest phones to learn and love. It is simple to use mainly due to the tiles on the display screen are right there for you to do your daily activities. Durability Quite durable I must say. I have dropped this phone a handful of times on the street, sidewalk and driveway. I received a tiny chip on the cover but nothing else.My Samsung Focus has been sat on and used heavily in extreme temperatures and still functions like new. Design The Samsung Focus fits perfectly in my hand to be able to use just one hand if needed. It is not too heavy or too light. It is perfect size to fit in any pocket. I love the rounded features and the simple design on the front screen with the tiles.

This is the perfect Windows phone for the tech savvy & beginners

I absolutely love this phone! Battery Life I'm happy with the battery life, though would perhaps be a tiny bit happier if it lasted a bit longer. Display/Screen Quality The screen display & quality are awesome! Call Quality I've never had any issues with calls dropping or people not being able to hear me properly. Ease of Use Very user friendly! Durability I've dropped my phone a few times, and it's held up better than my husband's HTC has when he dropped his. I'm impressed with its durability. Design Very sleek and I love the look of the phone.

A Worthy Contender

5

Let me start off by saying that this is a great phone. If you are into social networking, have an Xbox 360, or want something new, then this is the phone for you. The Live Tiles are an extremely simple but great feature of the phone. They update on their own and display the most recent information right on the front screen. You can put anything you want on the front screen making for quick and easy access to anything you want. The screen is amazing. It is bright and big and very responsive. It is simply just beautiful to look at. It is a developing OS, so a lot of the things like multitasking, and twitter integration are not there yet, but rest assured they are coming! The phone itself is very nice, although a little too much plastic was used. It is very sleek and thin and easily fits into your pocket. I would reccomend getting a case for it though as if you drop it, it might not live to see another day. All in all, this is a great phone and is defintely worth it. If you're looking into a new smart phone, this is definitely a serious contender.

Wonderful Smartphone and easy to use

4

I have been a fan of Samsung phones for years, they have always held up well and I have never had any problems with them. The Samsung Focus is not different. When it was time to upgrade my cell phone I chose the Samsung Focus. It is one of the easiest Smartphones I have ever used. I know people with different kinds of Smartphones, and always heard them complaning about glitches in them. I have had my Focus for 4 months and have not had one problem. It is very easy to customize the phone to fit you. I love the "pin to start" feature. If you want Youtube or Facebook on the start screen all you do is touch that app and click pin to start. Watching videos is great on them. My kids love to watch things on Netflix. The videos playback great, no pauses. The only drawback is you can't get customized ringtones. Hopefully soon you will be able to.

Solid phone with beautiful software

5

I got my Samsung Focus right after it came out. I was waiting for it for some time and was not disappointed. I am coming from an iPhone 4 (and a Palm Treo Pro before that) to give some context to my opinion. The software on this phone, Windows Phone 7, is awesome. The user interface is beautiful; everything is fast and responsive. This exceeded my expectations for a totally new phone operating system. In terms of the basics, Microsoft got most of it right the first time. It does just about everything I really care about as a phone and I rarely miss my iPhone 4. Pros: - Beautiful, fast UI - Third-party apps are generally good looking - Lots of apps in marketplace on launch - Hardware back button is VERY welcome - Did I mention the UI is beautiful and fast? Cons: - Many third party apps are slow. I'm sure this will get better as the platform matures - No updates have been released yet. Microsoft has committed to a good update story, so I think things will get better here, but I would like to actually see it happen. - Some apps and games from the iOS platform have not yet made it (Skype, Plants vs. Zombies, remote check deposit apps for banks). Overall I'm very happy and if the platform continues to get better I'll definitely get WP7 for my next phone too.

Samsung Focus i917 (8 GB) Smartphone really needs to catch on.

4

After close consideration, I decided to be an early adopter of the Samsung Focus and Windows Phone 7. I am not disappointed. Everything that the phone is lacking (i.e. apps, copy/paste, ability to set custom tones, speed) is being fixed in a patch in the very near future. Samsung has always had great customer support, so if you have any grievances about their product your voice will be heard. The AMOLED screen and battery life of this phone sets it aside from all of the other launch date windows phone 7 devices as the best, in my opinion. Currently, there are only a handful of applications that are useful in my opinion. Everywhere there is room for improvement, but the applications unique to this device are great. In particular, being able to connect to xbox live and play games using your phone is a fantastic feature, considering the moving trend of gaming on mobile devices. I hope to see more people adopt this phone and OS.

The best phone I have ever owned.

5

Let me start by saying that I love this phone.  The screen is beautiful, the OS is fantastic and fast, the application marketplace is growing and it just feels like a breath of fresh air.  I had previously used an iPhone 3G that was good for what it was, but it was rapidly approaching its end of life (and was completely gimped with iOS 4.0) and had been waiting for the new Windows Phone OS for years.  Having previously used Windows Mobile phones I was incredibly excited to see Microsoft scrap the whole previous OS and come out with something new from the ground up.  What they have produced is just great and easy to use.  Deep enough that a tech person can enjoy it and simple enough that anyone can jump in (my wife, who hated my iPhone and was resistant to using a touch screen, loved playing with mine and just about flipped when I showed her the LG Quantum and that she could get the OS with a slider keyboard), the Samsung Focus is the best of the current crop of Windows Phones.  Do yourself a favor and get one.

The Samsung Focus is an Extraordinary Smartphone

4

The Samsung focus smartphone deserves a 4 1/2 rating actually. The first thing you notice is that unlike the iphones you get "great phone" both receiving and calling. The AMOLED screen is as close to the iphone retina display as I have seen plus the ability to add a microSDHC card is more than a plus (which I accomplished quickly and easily). The Zune portion just adds an enormous plus to this phone with an easy on the eye and easy to use GUI with a very responsive OS. Get one!  One caveat - to add memory you MUST follow the specific directions. I used a SanDisk 16GB Mobile microSDHC  card (reviewed elsewhere) and it installed flawlessly. Simply remember that this is installing additional memory in a computer, not utilizing removable/rewritable flash memory.
