I bought this 8.1 digital camera at Radio Shack  in June 2008. It was $99.99( Just pennies more than Walmart). I got it for my 9 year old daughter to take to summer camp.  We had about a month to learn how to use it. It has so many features you really have to read the directions & practice with it.  On July 4th the lens cover wouldn't  close all the way & it wouldn't retract unless you gently pushed it in.  I took it back to Radio Shack & the kindly exchanged it.  She took some great pictures both in the daylight & night time. Wonderful fireworks pictures!  Recently, I was carrying it & somehow formatted the card & lost all my pictures & video.  I have now idea what happened, but I had most of the pictures downloaded on my computer.  It does use a lot of batteries, but I use lithium & they last much longer  I always carry extra "AA" batteries with me.  It also has simple directions on how to take better pictures when you turn the dial to that feature.  I love the image stabilization & face detection.  It doesn't focus at very close range, but will tell you with a red box if it isn't in focus.  All in all a good little camera.
