Fun But Long

I really liked The Pussycat Dolls back when they were still together so I was intrigued when I saw that they had a workout video and picked up a copy.

Having done some of Carmen Electra's workout DVDs I was fairly prepared for this type of dance workout - or so I thought. No wonder these girls look awesome - they work really hard!

I did struggle a bit with the moves at first, but I'm not that good at choreography anyway. I did catch on reasonably quickly and was able to be mostly in time with the girls by the end of a few viewings.

The music is great and the Dolls look amazing so they're wonderful inspirations.

You do get a quality cardio workout as you really do get moving and break out sweating. The length can be a bit to work into your schedule since it does come it at nearly an hour long.

If you're a fan of the Dolls or Carmen Electra's DVDs you're sure to enjoy this. It's motivating and fun!

The Pussycat Dolls Workout Become a Pussycat Doll

I love Carmen Electra's Striptease DVD's and knowing that she was once a Pussycat Doll I figured I would probably enjoy their workout as well. So you know I had to have it.

The Pussycat Dolls workout is a Burlesque dancing workout. Not that the whole workout is burlesque but most of the moves could easily be stripper moves. Basically if you have ever seen the Pussycat girls perform that is how you will be dancing. The workout is led by the Pussycat dolls creator and choreographer Robin Antin who is super fit. The only thing you really need for the workout is a boa. If you don't have a boa you can use a scarf or a men's tie (untied). Yes you will be learning how to execute some cool boa moves.

The workout starts out like most with a short warm up, a few stretches and light dance moves then you movie on to the first dance routine. The first dance routine is a dance based on the song Hot Like Me by the Pussycat Dolls. Basically you learn about 7 moves. The first part of that routine is instruction where you learn each of the moves and learn to combine them, the second part of the routine is the performance where you actually perform the moves to the Hot Like Me song. You basically do the same moves over and over again. Personally I would have liked to have seen a few more moves included in this routine, as you basically do the moves then you walk back and wait till the beat of the music is at the right place and then do them again. It would have been more challenging and interesting if there were at least a couple more moves.

The next routine is the burlesque routine. This is the routine you need the boa for. You learn to work the boa kind of snapping it like a whip, then move it to the other side of your body and you end up with it between your legs and then there are a few other moves. I have to admit it was a little tricky at first. Unfortunately I don't have a boa so I had to use a scarf the scarf did not always cooperate with me. I am sure if someone had been watching me when I first did this they probably would have been laughing hysterically at me. I know I was laughing at myself. Once I finally got it though I have to admit it was pretty fun.

The next song is done to the song Buttons again by the Pussycat Dolls. It is a very sexy routine that will have you bending your legs and moving your hips and stomach. It is a good routine because you are not only dancing while you are doing it but also working your muscles which will have the added benefit of toning your muscles while you are getting a cardio workout.

The cool down is filled with light dancing and standing stretching moves and of course deep breathing. It is a good cool down and the stretches feel really good and will help improve flexibility. The cool down is about 5 minutes long.

There is a bonus section included in the DVD that features Robin Antin talking about how the Pussycat Dolls came to be. It is pretty interesting so you will want to view this at least once. She also tells about the workout and lead singer Nicole Scherzinger chimes in from time to time to tell about her experience with becoming a Pussycat doll and her take on the workout.

I would classify this DVD for the advanced beginner fitness level. The workout is physically challenging but the difficulty is not really in the fitness level of it is in the learning of the moves. Those who are coordination challenged may have trouble for the first few times but everything is gone over several times and in time you will be a sexy dancing diva or male dancer. Those with bad knees might have trouble with this workout as you do a lot of knew bending.The entire DVD is 68 minutes long. 10 minutes of that is the bonus feature. So the workout out is a bit of 50 minutes long which is good.

I like this workout. It is really fun and you feel really sexy when doing it. After you get all the moves of course. I for one really enjoyed doing the routine with the boa but of course I had to use a tie. Perhaps someday when I get the guts I will do the boa routine for my husband. The moves are cool and sexy sometimes challenging, but like I said once you learn the routines you will just feel sexy and maybe a little bit naughty doing the routines. This does not diminish the fact that this is also an effective workout. I was extremely sore particularly in my thighs the following day after I did this workout.

Who Wouldn't Love a Doll?

I was very weary about doing the Pussy cat Dolls Workout, I thought it would be slutty, or worse. I did it with some of the girls on my college soccer team,at first we were uncomfortable but we soon got into it,loosened up and had lots of fun! We actually broke a sweat to my suprise, and now it is a bonding experience within the team, every time we do it more people join in. The Pussy cat Dolls Workout really is amazing I just wish it was longer and incorporated more of their dances into it. Pussy cat Dolls Workout is great for all stages from novice to expert, you do not even have to know how to dance. Simply a great time just to have fun while working out. It might take a little bit of practice to get the dances right though,well worth the money!****

Fun workout, can be a long time period.

The workout is an hour with a great group of girls.  I worked out five days straight with the video and gained a little weight, but I'm glad I bought the DVD because it's really fun.  Another reviewer wrote she lost 15 pounds from the DVD. If she did, I"m really inspired and maybe I'll start working out with it every day again.  The woman that instructs is really positive, really inspiring and really fun.  For me, I was sore and it is hard to workout if it's an addition to another program you may be doing.  If it is the only workout you do it should be OK.  Again, the instructor is really fun, positive and exciting.  She describes what workouts are good for your body, and she is really energizing.  I did however get bored because it is a long time (60 minutes for me is high).

I am writing a review on Pussycat Dolls Workout DVD. This DVD is not just your ordinary workout DVD. The Pussycat Dolls Workout is a dancing workout DVD. You don't just get a good workout, you also have fun doing it. The DVD features The songs Don't Cha, And Buttons. You can also check out behind the scene footage of the Pussycat Dolls. Learn to dance and loose some weight, dancing to the Pussycat Dolls best songs. Pussycat Dolls lead singer is also featured on this DVD,Nicole Scherzinger teaches you the moves. You will dance you way to a beautiful body. You just need to keep up with the workout DVD several times a week. The dance workouts are fun. They are easy at first but become more intense, but the more you workout the easier it gets. I think you will love this DVD workout with the famous Pussycat Dolls. I love the workouts on the DVD and I have lost 15 pounds already and have been using the DVD for a month now. So you try it, its worth it and fun.
