I love to workout at home and some of my favorite workout dvds are indoor walking. I purchased this dvd several months ago because I wanted to switch up my indoor walking routine. This particular walking dvd consist of 3 separate 1 mile walks. The length of the workout is 50 minutes long. Denise Austin has a full cast of walkers doing the workout routine with her. For me this fitness dvd was just ok. Denise Austin isn't the greatest at giving prompt spot on instructions. Her counting was often off and delayed. I have to admit that I am not crazy about Denise Austin voice either which I find to be a bit annoying at times. This workout itself moves at a very slow pace, almost to slow for my liking. In my opinion this workout dvd is perfect for someone who has never workout a day in their life. Since this workout dvd didn't meet my expectations, I gave it to my grandmother to use. Overall I was not fond of this particular workout dvd.

Classic Denise

I'm a huge fan of Leslie Sansone's indoor walking DVDs and own almost all of them so when I swat that Denis Austin had released her own indoor walking DVD I had to give it a try. I like Denise because she's so laid-back and very positive in her workouts. She has such a great attitude that she leave you smiling when you finish one of her workouts. I liked that this was three complete one mile workouts but they just weren't as good as Leslie's. Denise is fun and friendly, but she's not the greatest at explanations so you're doing one move and suddenly she's doing something else with no warning and you have to rush to catch up. This is very different than Leslie's DVDs so it took a bit of getting used to. I liked that this added more of an arms component than some of Leslie's DVDs but that was the main plus for me. Ultimately I returned to my favorite Leslie Sansone DVDs and gave my copy of Denise's walk to the library. It just wasn't for me.

This is a great workout series for an "easy day". You know, those days when you don't really feel like sweating, but you want to do something. You want to say you moved your body, and burned a few calories. I'm a huge exercise DVD fan. I love working out at home, rather than the gym. I own probably close to 100 exercise DVD's I love variety; I'd probably get bored doing this Denise Austin Indoor Walk every day. But I do find myself reaching for it often... It's broken up into 3 fifteen minute "walks". Each fifteen minute segment you walk 1 mile. So for busy days, it's great to do just one segment, or if you have more time you can do all 3. I find myself doing this DVD when I'm tired and lazy, and don't feel like working out too hard. That being said, you can make this "Walk" as easy or hard as you want it to be. If you're feeling strong, you can put on your running shoes, and really work hard, making more exaggerated, energetic moves. The last segment uses hand weights, which I love. This is my favorite. I can use 5 lb weights here, and feel like I get a good arm workout. If you're having a "weak" day, you can also get in a good walk with this DVD, some days I even do this one barefoot. This first walk is easiest, the Beginner's walk. The second has some intervals. The third uses the hand weights. I like them all. You'd have to be a fan of Denise Austin to like this DVD. I like her, so to me, she is typical Denise, very encouraging, a bit silly. No surprises in her workouts. She is always consistent, and her moves don't vary too much over the years. The set is pretty, and there are smiling back up exercises dressed in brightcolors. For me, I'm picky about the workout sets. If they aren't appealing to look out, I get bored. Denise's sets are usually hit or miss. This one I like. A nice bonus is the 10 minute stretch at the end, which is done to relaxing music and you are seated in a chair. It's great, I love when the stretches aren't rushed. I'd definitely recommend this DVD, especially to those who like Denise Austin already, and it's probably better for the 40+ crowd or beginners.

Denise Austin Indoor Walk, great for when you can't walk outside

Denise Austins Blast away the pounds indoor walk, is great for people that cant go outside to walk beacause of health, weather etc. You have three different 15 min. walks, Easy Walk, Fat Blasting Walk ,Power Walk and Tone(you use 1 to 3 pound weights with this one) and a stretch I do this with a group of friends and sometimes we do the stretch before and after. I find this dvd comforting, we are all in our late 50's or early 60's sometimes we just do one walk and stretch other times we may do 2 of the 15 min walks and stretch. Everyone can do this dvd so it is a favorite.The 10 min stretch on this one really makes you feel good afterwards.I think this would be a good dvd to start out on because you wouldn't get frustrated because you couldn't do the moves.

Denise Austin's indoor walk perfect for those just starting out

Denise Austin's Blast Away the pounds indoor walk is an excellent fitness DVD for those that are just starting out or those who do moderate exercises.  I love the fact that you can choose between three workouts and a stretching routine and program it in the order you choose.  Each workout is the equivalent of walking 1 mile and is approximately 20 minutes long.  It's great for those who don't have a lot of time to work out or want to vary their work out throughout the day.  She doesn't require special equipment for the exercises but if you have 1-3 lb weights it's helpful for the workout with weights.  You can take it at your own pace and it workout as hard or as easy as you would like.  You do need a larger space to do the exercises due to moving up and back and left to right.  I sometimes just turn on her stretching part that is approximately 15 minutes in the evenings.  She stretches several muscle groups and it definately feels like you've done something.  I would not recommend this workout program to those who like to really sweat when they work out or who have been doing aerobics for a long time.  This would probably be a warm up routine for you.
