I purchased the Pentax KD200D Digital Camera with 18-55mm lens as a replacement when an older point and shoot camera died on me. When it arrived I was so excited, but was greatly disappointed to find that it seemed to be stuck on rapid shoot, and would not act normally no matter how my dad and I adjusted it.  It was sent back to the manufactturer for warranty repair, and when they sent it back to me it worked perfectly, though they seemed to think that there was nothing wrong with it.  I have had the K200D for a couple years now and it has worked excellently in the many ways I have used it.  I have set it up outside on a tripod and used the self timer to take pictures of myself or family, I've taken pictures of fireworks, while on a boat in the dark. It has worked well taking inside shots, in dim light or bright sunlight.  The colors are vivid and the images are sharp and clear, making it an excellent landscape camera. I have used it to create beautiful closeups of flowers and leaves, and the 18-55mm lens is adequate for my needs.  It can also be outfitted with a bigger lens, which can be used interchangeably with the 18-55.  Overall I have been very happy with the Pentax KD200D Digital Camera with 18-55 lens, finding it the perfect camera for a beginning or intermediate photographer, with the potential to upgrade as it's user becomes more advanced.
