One of the Best Centrifugal Juicers I Have Used Yet
I have been using juicers for a LONG time. I have had some experiences with several types of juicers, my juicer of choice often is the centrifugal style juicer. The reason is that it has a smaller footprint on the counter, it does juicy fruits and vegetables more easily than other style juicers do, and clean up seems easier, although it is not too much easier than other styles of juicers. **WHAT IS THE OMEGA 4000 JUICER LIKE?** Here is a brief description of the OMEGA 4000 JUICER from the company: * *15 year Warranty * * *Efficient 1/3 HP Induction Motor * * *250 Watts * * *Optimum speed of 5200 RPM for peak efficiency * * *Stainless steel blade, basket and cover * * *NEW Larger Feed Chute * * *11½ lbs * * *8" W x 15" D x 12½" H * * *Exclusive Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) Household and Commercial Approval * (back to my comments now) The OMEGA 4000 JUICER is a centrifugal juicer which means that there is a little basket that goes around with a screen around the edge. The bottom disc has little sharp points on it which shred the produce and the basket spins at a high rate of speed to extract the juice. The pulp is ejected into a basket in the back, and the juice stream out of a spigot like opening in the front into a glass or container of your choice. The feeding tube is not too small, but I would like to see it a bit bigger. **How Well Does This Juicer Perform?** The OMEGA 4000 JUICER is one of the nicest juicers I have used up until now. The shredding disc is not permanently attached to the basket like it is with other juicers like the Jack Lalanne or Juicelady juicers, for example. The disc is attached over the basket by a wing nut so you can separate them for cleaning. I find that the disc on the OMEGA 4000 JUICER stays sharp for a long time, as compared to other juicers I have used. It does a better job of pulverizing/shredding the produce and extracts more juice than other centifugal juicers I have used as well. The plastic on the juicer is very sturdy, and I find that food does not get caught under the edges like it can in other models by other companies. The pulp gathers in the back basket and is very finely chopped. There has been no clogging or problems either. **Bottom Line** Of all of the centrifugal juicers I have used, I have to say that the OMEGA 4000 is my favorite. It is easy to use, clean up is great, and the pulp left over has very little large chunks left afterward. I have had a chance to use this juicer at length to test it out, and the only problem I might see with it is if you don't like stained white plastic, you might want to consider using plastic bags in the pulp collecting bin to keep it from staining. I don't mind staining, but some people do. **For More Information** http://www.omegajuicersdirect.com/store.php?productID=121 Pulp Setting Effectiveness Best pulp ejector juicer I have tried yet.
